Tinder Swipes Right for Safety

   Tinder, the go-to dating app, is widening its ID verification feature to ensure users are who they claim to be.

   The new measure requires individuals to confirm their identity using a driver’s license and a selfie video.

   This in response to the increasing use of artificial intelligence for scams and a rise in dating crimes.

   Currently, the rollout is set for the United States, the United Kingdom, Brazil, and Mexico.

Lockbit: A Major Blow to Cybercrime

   Lockbit (a gang accused of targeting over 2,000 victims globally and amassing more than $120 million in ransom payments) saw its operations crumble as the FBI and Britain's National Crime Agency seized control of its infrastructure.

   This included taking over the gang’s websites, freezing crypto accounts and shutting down thousands of online accounts.

   Law enforcement agencies have managed to "hack the hackers" by gaining access to Lockbit's systems and obtaining decryption keys to aid victims.

   The operation led to the arrest of two Russian nationals and the indictment of others involved.
