Boeing Strike Halts 737 Production
Boeing stopped producing its 737 jets as 33,000 workers from the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers continue to strike.
The strike began on September 13 and has delayed deliveries, with only two 737s shipped last week and no 787 deliveries.
Boeing offered a 30% pay increase over four years, but the union rejected it, calling it insufficient. The workers demand higher wages to match Washington's high cost of living.
Boeing’s supplier, Spirit AeroSystems, warns of impending furloughs if the strike lasts beyond mid-October. Boeing spends about $1bn per month with companies that supply the 737, 767 and 777 jetliner programmes.

Ozempic Against Opioid Overdose?
Researchers reveal that Ozempic (a diabetes drug also used for weight loss) may significantly reduce the risk of opioid overdose.
This finding comes from a study involving 3,000 participants with Type 2 diabetes and opioid use disorder.
Participants on semaglutide, the active ingredient in Ozempic, experienced a 60% decrease in overdose incidents. There were 48 opioid overdose cases in the semaglutide group compared to 72 cases in those taking other diabetes medications.
Researchers remain uncertain about how semaglutide aids in addiction recovery. They note that this medication may also help reduce alcohol cravings.
