Nvidia Remains the King of AI

Nvidia's Q1 revenue hit $26.04 billion, beating estimates. They also announced a 10-for-1 stock split. Shares rose 7% after the news.

Nvidia’s data center segment saw revenue grow 427% to $22.6 billion in the first quarter. Net income jumped to $14.88 billion from $2.04 billion a year earlier.

The company forecasted revenue of $28 billion and adjusted gross margin of 75.5% for Q2.

Demand for Nvidia’s chips remains strong. Companies like Alphabet, Microsoft, and Amazon are racing to secure them.

Synapse Shutdown Freezes Funds for Thousands

The sudden bankruptcy of Synapse, a financial technology middleman, has left tens of thousands of U.S. businesses and consumers unable to access their funds.

Synapse, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, froze accounts after ending services with several financial partners, including Evolve Bank & Trust.

This has caused major disruptions, with many accounts frozen or showing non-existent funds. Approximately 200,000 accounts have been impacted in Evolve Bank. Synapse served around 10 million Americans through numerous partnerships.

Teen finance app Copper, which used Synapse for banking services, abruptly told customers it was discontinuing services. Some Copper users, including children, are unable to access their funds.

US Suing Live Nation-Ticketmaster

The Justice Department will sue Live Nation Entertainment for antitrust violations. They claim Live Nation controls the ticket sales industry through Ticketmaster.

Live Nation merged with Ticketmaster in 2010. Since then, complaints have surfaced about the company's dominance. They control 70% to 80% of major concert venues in the US.

The company also manages concerts, artist promotions, and venues.This has led to higher prices and limited competition.

The lawsuit will aim to break up Live Nation.
