OpenAI's Cancer Copilot

Color Health, originally a genetic testing company, has developed an AI "copilot" using OpenAI's GPT-4o model.

The AI copilot helps doctors analyze patient records, reducing the time needed for review to an average of five minutes. It ingests patient data, such as risk factors and family history, to generate tailored screening plans.

It also assists in assembling pretreatment work-ups, which include specialized tests and insurance authorizations.

Color Health’s CEO, Othman Laraki, emphasizes that the copilot supports rather than replaces doctors. The tool aims to reduce administrative burdens, helping doctors focus on high-impact tasks and reduce burnout.

McDonald's Fires Its AI Servers

McDonald’s is ending its AI drive-thru experiment. They worked with IBM for two years to test AI chatbots at over 100 locations. The goal was to speed up order-taking while simplifying tasks for employees.

However, the AI often made mistakes. Customers frequently received the wrong items, leading to humorous but frustrating viral videos.

Company leaders are optimistic about future voice-ordering solutions. They plan to revisit the idea before the year ends.

McDonald’s partnered with Google to develop a training chatbot and are testing various automated systems, including mobile ordering and kitchen robots.
