How do you feel about the prognosis for men diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer like Biden?

  • 44% Worried about the challenges and risks

jodu...Chemo at his age is tough. It will never be cured but just allow him to live a few extra miserable months.
nanc...I hope treatment can help Joe Biden! He did a lot more for this country while president than most realize.
geor...Cannot understand that it wasn’t diagnosed at a much earlier stage. A yearly or biyearly PSA test certainly would give warnings much earlier. A perusal of his medical records over the last several years would show if he had PSA test and what they showed!
darr...Prostate cancer is somewhat ignored since it viewed as an old man disease. It's should be viewed like breast cancer and funded in the same manner. Second killer of men. Sad.
flem...My father died a few years ago from this very diagnosis, and as a health care provider, I have not seen significant changes in treatment.
eliz...Stage 4 cancer? Prostrate cancer is typically not “aggressive.” Give me a break: he and his drs (and handlers) knew long before this was announced as “breaking news.” The real news is how long was his diagnosis and treatment hidden from the public
mspr...With all the cutbacks to NHS and shutting down research by the Trump administration, everybody, not just men, will pay the price with their health. It's criminal to cut back on such vital research and medical care, particularly to an aging population.
pris...Why didn't this show up on an annual PSA test if it was so aggressive?
gros...I had cancer twice prostate cancer and rectal cancer thank God that I managed to survive both. It is a terrible ordeal to go through and at Biden‘s age it would be a challenge for him to receive those medicines. I wish him well and all the best and I hope that he receives enough medicine to help him recover.
rdm9...The hotline treatment (chemical castration) is the treatment of last resort. Any male over 60 should be getting PSA tests annually, so inconceivable elevated PSA levels would have not been observed and treated years before this. (I had prostate cancer, early stage, diagnosed at age 52 due to PSA tests). There clearly has been a cover up if his annual physicals were showing elevated PSA or medical malpractice if no testing was done (again, inconceivable that this was not being done)
nkad...It still has a high incidence rate particularly among black men.
wagn...Once it has metastasized into the bones it is over, just like what happened to my dad. At least Biden has the resources to get the best care and put his affairs in order.
life...Because it is so advanced—in his bones, it worries me that he will survive.
denn...I have had prostate cancer since 2006. Through treatment, it was "dormant" for 15 years, but has since returned. The concern - for all men with my diagnosis - is that it never really goes away, and if left untreated, will eventually be the "thing" that kills us. I am hopeful that the hormone therapy being discussed for Joe Biden gives him some time; but I do not have any hope that his cancer is curable.
koze...It was the cancer that killed my father. My brother is being treated now. Yes, there have been advancements but then and now you enter the "medical treatment midway" that never ends. Normal life is never achieved again. It takes over a person's life. There are little pockets and pieces of happiness that can be found here and there if the person can search and recognize those. Some people have more then others. It takes great resilience to come back and keep looking for those things, places, and people, along the treatment course to make it worth it.
bruc...I’m surprised by this advanced diagnosis actually. A elevated PSA should have bedn tested for and been detected on his annual physicals.
beck...I had aggressive Prostate Cancer with a Gleason Score of 11. That was 5 years ago. I’m still here.
gibl...Why does a slow growing cancer that typically takes 3 to 10 years to metastasize? It is easily detectable with a PSA test not found previously when he’s at this final stage. Was there a cover-up?
jeff...He already has bone metastasis, so that’s worrisome.
rmki...I would be worried about the prognosis of his stage 4 diagnosis because Prostate Cancer should have been detected by his physicians early on. Both my father and my brother as well as myself have all had prostate cancer that was detected early. Our father has died of other illness and I have been cancer free for years because of surgery when detected early. My brother has a slow growing form and they are watching it with NO treatment. Given that Biden had a top notch medical team watching him and he had some of the best medical care a person in the United States could have, I find it surprising that it got to stage 4 without being detected and treated some time ago. My guess is that it had been detected earlier and had been treated using one or more of the standard treatments available without previous disclosure. We are often not told the whole story and so my best guess is it did not respond to previous treatment and so it is likely not going to respond to treatment now. I would say big challenges lie ahead.
bsmi...I believe God is in control. He will take care of President Biden.

Do you think President Trump can effectively mediate peace talks between Ukraine and Russia?

coch...Ego can only get you so far.
raym...He is the only person that can help this senseless war.
cica...Trump’s a joke, and Putin is laughing at him and making a fool out of him. It’s pretty clear that Trump suffers from Obama Derangement Syndrome (ODS). He wants all the adoration Obama got including the Nobel prize. That’s why he’s willing to throw poor Ukraine under the bus to get a peace deal so he can demand his Nobel. What a jerk.
marc...He’s Putins puppet.
mspr...Trump wants only more power and whatever will make him look good in his own eyes. Just bully the rest of the world and perhaps he'll get what he wants, to the detriment of the entire world.
jeff...Putin does not want peace.
usct...Mr. Trump has little credibility left. This is due to the fact that he has no foundation of truth. He blows in and with the prevailing winds. And he has no baseline. The last person he speaks with has the most influence on his decisions. No one can believe him or in him.
robs...This a politically biased framing of your question undermining the entire credibility of your "just the facts" newsletter.
ezca...The president has seemed to flip flop on backing the victim of an invasion vs supporting the aggressor only because they are strong. His method of negotiating a peace was forcing Ukraine to accept a bad deal by withdrawing support.
rgar...Can you imagine Camalla gigling at Putin telling him to stop? That would be real credibility.
hbro...Putin and Zelensky are both hard headed and greedy, not sure if anyone can get them to see reason. However, if someone can, it would be Trump.
caro...He gave up his negotiating positions before beginning negotiations!
aija...He is Putin puppet!!!
chri...I can't imagine that there is anything anyone could say to Putin to push him in that direction.
jose...Like Putin, Trump has a habit of lying.
jllm...I’ve said it once I’ve said it 1,000,000 times there’s only one plan He buys it and doesn’t pay for it. It’s his only strategy. Might work in real estate, but not on the big stage
rmac...Obviously the majority of people ready this are libtards, Trump has done more to stabilize our country and world than any other president since Reagan! Quit hating your country and president and get behind him!
will...Trump is a goof.
btaw...Trump speaks in a dialect called Word Salad. How can he mediate a complex situation with no communication skills. Perhaps someone more suitable will do the mediation and he will take credit for it, after both countries invest in his family’s meme coin, of course.
nola...He’s a moron unsuitable for the office of the presidency.
drow...He’s clueless how to negotiate with Russia. Strategy has been to tire Russia out. Not goin to happen. Nothing in two years has hurt Russia. Nothing threatens Putin.
ende...I don’t think he lacks credibility I just believe Putin won’t stop even if he says he will ( previous ceasefire)
nanc...Putin plays him as an idiot. Trump is a sucker…
elli...He said he was going to end the war on day 1, another lie!!
erfi...He is a Russian asset and will never defy Putin. Also he is a transactional mob boss. If there isn't profit it a deal for him personally he won't negiotate.
kold...Putin plays him like a fiddle. And he has no respect for democracy or the resistance to a fasict invader--he is one.
jean...Trump has flip-flopped on so many decisions that he lacks credibility. Furthermore, he is not trustworthy. An unanswered question remains. What is the real relationship between Putin and Trump? Let's remember the Oval Office, seen nationally, where US leaders were rude to Ukraine's leader.
marc...He is no diplomate. His approach in everything is his way or the highway. Won't fly with Putin.
went...If there is nothing in it personally for him, even glorification, je loses interest. He lacks the forward thinking to engage I'm meaningful talks
bruc...He’s a joke.
sopa...This war start in 2014 with the ukrainian troops trying to expell the russian population from their homes in five russian enclaves in the ukrainian territory. The russians will not abandon his citizens. To understand this is crucial to end this war.
geof...Putin owns Trump.
gerb...Putin doesn’t respect him. Does not fear him or us power.
andr...He's a deal maker, and he adamantly is seeking to stop this senseless war that has taken too many lives already.
chgr...The U>S> has resources that are vastly superior to those of Russia. Russia is strained economically and for the manpower to continue the war aggressively. Trump is an experienced and tough negotiator, especially when he holds a strong hand, which he does.

How do you feel about the potential impact of a credit rating downgrade on the economy?

  • 79% Concerned, it signals instability
  • 21% Not concerned, I trust in economic growth to offset it

EmailComments
john...Tax cuts have never paid for themselves. The US has been living on borrowed time - and borrowed money. We need to pay for the government we want. That means raising taxes. Better to raise the funds from taxes than borrowing the same dollars that we didn’t tax!
jsai...International regard for the US has already been downgraded
btaw...It’s what happens when you pass budget legislation while ignoring its impact on the debt
nanc...This is the first time Moody’s downgraded the U.S. credit rating in over a century. How can it not be a big deal?
will...Trump’s fault.
cica...China is getting ready to lap us on the world stage. And meanwhile, these tax cuts for the rich, this destruction of what has been the American way for the last hundred years is rapidly making the United States the irrelevant
sung...A credit rating downgrade would be devastating to the US economy. To think that US economy only relies on itself is childish and out of date in today's world economy.
lesf...This change in NO WAY could hurt the economy with the horrible effect the Biden/Obama did that occurred 4+ years ago.
robs...Your article indicates that you firmly believe that everyone on Medicaid in 2025 is legally entitled to it even after DOGE has uncovered wide systemic fraud throughout our government. This is politically biased. One way and NOT "just the facts."
jose...Here we go again! Tax cuts for the wealthy.
bruc...No clue how to run a government
geof...Just another indicator of Trump’s financial errors.
msyk...S&P first downgraded the US in 2011 and no amount of growth could offset the flood of deficit spending we've seen since and will continue to see. Moody's is late to the downgrade game. But there is no chance we'll see enough growth to offset the deficit spending the GOP is advancing.
tere...Trust in Trump. So many have, so many have prospered as a result. After years of shutting down the government because of deficit spending, the Rs double-down on deficit spending. They’ll bankrupt the Social Security and Medicare programs in no time
cmur...Tariffs and the Republican tax cuts are self inflicted insanity
mspr...Not a financial expert, but I think a downgraded credit rating will make everything cost more and countries will not trust us. We will lose even more standing in the world then we have with Trump in the WH.
jllm...If you’re not a great place to invest because of instability, we can only regress to that Third World country standard.
davi...eventually those low bond prices/high yields will work their way to the short end, where mortgages live.

How concerned are you about consumer caution in China impacting future retail sales?

  • 50% Not very concerned
  • 50% Very concerned

ende...We could stand to put some economic space between China and us and find other ways. The items they want to import should come with a mandatory warranty like they do for Europe
jllm...I think China is more concerned about our economy than its own.
will...China is doing what makes sense.
sara...I wish for us to not rely on China and its deplorable work conditions.

Do you believe the advancements in proton therapy will significantly change the landscape of cancer treatment?

  • 83% Yes, it’s a game-changer
  • 17% No, it’s just another option

EmailComments
nanc...Cancer treatment has improved exponentially in the last couple decades and continues! Too bad the grants funding research have been suspended by our government 👎
jllm...It seems like I’ve been waiting years for a targeted cancer therapy. The throw 1 million drugs at you and hopefully one of them will take care of you while all the time making you sicker than when you started
marg...Any advancement in cancer therapy is positive.

kold...No more.
sara...I wish you had said what Taurine is in the first paragraph so I didn’t have to go look it up.
