lora...these tax cuts should be permanently established. the next step is Congress can no longer exceed spending above the budget. Congress should be obligated to balance the budget each year regardless of party. We should cut spending for all non profits, tax NGO's , stop funding illegal immigrants, Maximize wellfare for five years, put homeless people to work cleaning parks and streets
erwi...There are so many things wrong about this bill. I won't go into all of it. The main issue is how it prioritizes the wrong things. Taking funds from medicare and not addressing SS running out of funds is just criminal. As tax payers, we not only paying our taxes, we also paid into medicare and SS. Now funds are being diverted to the border walls and other political motivated areas, and still increasing our National debt. Lowering medical expenses, and ensuring that medicare and our Social Security funds do not disappear is the opposite of what this new tax bill is doing. Medicare and SS has been nothing more than a ponzi scheme and stealing money from people's medical and retirement funds. Everything in this bill is politically-motivated to support the 4% of American population and MAGA's belief that immigrants are the cause of all their problems. Sad to say that most of our politicians (on both sides) are not really prioritizing and solving major local issues. America is not going to be "Great Again", just like every great nation in history, this will be America's downfall in history.
bear...No debt increase.
jrv1...Surprising numbers. Hopefully the 57.9% understand the IRS has no problem accepting checks larger than what’s owed if a person is so inclined. The question should really be who do you want deciding where your money is spent: the government (57.9% seem to prefer that) or yourself in a free market
twin...This bill needs to be denied (turned down). It will put more people on the streets and death!! Why not give credits to alternative energy? It is Ludacris what this so called self-serving for the RICH AND FAMOUS president is doing. Needs to be impeached!!
shau...I believe that the cuts I've read about our necessary. I am not a wealthy American. I had to go to college full-time to get the Pell Grant. I couldn't get Medicaid when I needed medical care in my mid 50's. I'm sorry but you have to work, struggle, and just being here doesn't give you the rights to all our services and definitely not our tax dollars to support Democracy! Trump may be a pompous ass but he is a business man. The tariffs and cuts seek to balance us. I work 6 days a week, 10-14 hours per day, I totally pay for myself. I'm 66. So all the younger crowd that wants to live off the rest of the country? You guys need a reality check. Thank you.
bjta...Keep the tax cuts in place. Removing tax cuts will impact middle and lower income families. The misconception that these tax cuts helps the rich is just crazy. The top 10% earners pay 90% of the taxes already. Keep the plan in place and watch real income for middle and lower income individuals soar. Remove the tax cuts and watch individual earnings drop like a rock.
tim....Concern about increasing the debt. Concern about tax cut for the wealthiest. Concern about reducing Medicaid and other programs for the neediest
kaga...There is. Unfair balance to corporations
msyk...Extending the tax cuts is not the only reason for the increase in the deficit. Spending should be cut accordingly to balance the budget along with making the TCJA tax cuts permanent. Including reforms for SS, Medicare, and cuts in DoD--three of the largest expenses other than the interest payments on outstanding debt.
pfor...Our debt is out of control. Raise taxes, close all the loopholes and let's get on the right side of this!
cica...This bill is a crime. I’m seeing something and I’m saying something is anything going to be done?
pber...The rich need to pay their fair share.
barb...You are ridiculously biased and lying! You only tell part of the story, and only say what you want. Shameful.
kvas...Tax cuts for the super wealthy result in greater tax burdens on everyone else. Trading taxation for payment of extra tariff costs doesn't fool me. It's still a heavier burden on the 99% to support the federal government. Ronnie Ray Gun started the greed ball rolling, and it's been building up steam ever since to the point that greed has become the national anthem instead of liberty or justice for all. Stop the tax cuts.
jema...The tax cuts primarily benefit large corporations and billionaires with a few minor perks for low-income and middle class taxpayers that do not begin to offset the loss of benefits through social programs. The "trickle down" effect to boost the economy is a false theory that has not actually occurred under previous administrations. Trump's golf and "free" airplane only add to the 3.3 trillion national debt.
kevi...This is so fiscally irresponsible. More than one third of our current national debt is due to tax cuts for the wealthy, in an era when income and wealth inequality has never been higher. Why do we continue to give tax breaks to the wealthy while at the same time cutting assistance programs for those that need it the most? We are mortgaging our children's futures. The GOP in particular will claim this will spark "incredible growth". That is magical thinking when all the data points to the FACT that "trickle down" economics does NOT work. Giving more money to the middle and lower brackets would grow the economy more - they will SPEND the money. Continuing tax cuts for already wealthy people does nothing but give them more money that they will horde and never spend. We are on a path to economic collapse and failure just to continue to coddle the selfish baby boomer generation. I guess our politicians and the boomer generation don't care what they leave behind for the next generations - why should they? They already have their generational wealth. This type of behavior is what causes massive social upheaval, dare I say revolution.
emco...We must decrease government debt
ned....Either option too drastic !
jhen...This Bill's passage would harness our kids and grandkids with a massive debt to repay. Also it is harmful to the majority of the population of the United States.
chri...I want Trump’s billionaire agenda to go up in flames
lisa...The tax cuts are immoral and could doom life as we know it on the planet.
dave...I’m absolutely opposed to every mean spirited cut to benefit corporations and the ultra rich. This will create a far reaching disaster for the United States!
sang...I see 28% people here are supporting the tax cut. Why are you so greedy? Give back to your country so that all can live happily and with dignity, cover at least basic needs such as healthcare. I realised many ultra-rich people are so stingy and mean. Unbelievable!
mrse...No one benefits from the increasing debt. Need to shift tax burden more to those who can afford it and stay away from cutting health benefits
schi...We are in last place in the developed world for healthcare. Good healthcare needs to become a right for all, not a privilege.
rick...Need to reduce debt
hine...Make other cuts in government spending abroad to cover cost of tax cuts.
aswa...The reality is that a a good portion of the population (40% or so) does not pay any federal income taxes at all. So reducing taxes for the cohort that actually does, in my opinion, is fair.
marg...These cuts only benefit the top 1% of the population.
tkma...There is no practical explanation for lowering taxes at this stage of the game. We need to lower our debt before we bankrupt the country, which is the only job a President has to do.
nanc...Why should the less fortunate pay for the extremely wealthy to gain more wealth? It’s a cruel, inhumane bill and our president and his ilk will pay dearly for their malfeasance, eventually. We’re in for so much pain in the meantime, all unnecessary suffering.
cfio...Completely unfair
janj...A society based on the common good, with care and concern for the less fortunate and extremes of wealth and poverty are not allowed, is one that will thrive.
bcar...Taking away children’s lunches to pay for Jeff Bozo’s wedding is just wrong.
usct...I oppose cutting the safety net to give money to the rich and saddle my grandchildren with economic uncertainty. I doubt Trump cares about this at all. He has no nuance when it comes to life.
hugh...You're similar to mainstream media in your reporting. You focus entirely on negative consequences that could happen. Be unbiased, everything negative about what could happen to the economy, did not occur.
coll...There has to be change. Make it intelligent.
ccac...We do mot need tax cuts! More taxes mean increased services for all those suffering from lack of education, Healthcare, adequate resources to live ( homeless) , poor infrastructure. situations not always found in other civilized European societies. We can serve many more people with more $. Why is there so much effort to cut taxes?
pman...This is why he went bankrupt so many times- Trump feels that the USA can just file bankruptcy and all will Be fine- this is the end of the republic- counting the days -
yank...Tax cuts are a way to even out the advantages the upper class has historically enjoyed if they are fair.
roy....It's the deficit! Has to be addressed. You better believe , we the payers will bear the brunt of it. Best to smooth out tax increase over time
jmun...I haven’t heard an intelligent or cogent reason For passing this bill from the majority. From what I heard from the President, I don’t think he knows what’s in it except for what benefits him personally.

How do you feel about Amazon employing robots to fullfill heavy-lifting and repetitive tasks?

  • 76% Positive
  • 13% Neutral
  • 11% Negative

good...Bottom line, eliminating human labor
whal...No human should have to work so hard
cica...It’s progress. It’s inevitable. What do we do for jobs of the future? Where will employment come from
rish...Do you want to get to where robots do all the work in the USA?
joni...I think the resulting reduction in occupational injuries is a plus, but worry about the decrease in jobs available for humans.
sava...I own their stock!
deas...They have to have a plan for laid off workers.
chet...Whilst these are the hardest and most injury prone activities on a warehouse job and wages are going up for skilled workforce (both positive) the unskilled laborers are displaced and still need to be accounted for in our social and economic system. (Negative) And we have a terrible history of the latter. It's not a new idea and not Marxist either. Adam Smith acknowledged as much. But no one cares to read that part.
tetc...These types of tasks are what robots should be doing and it will continue expanding their roles.
kvas...So much for the mega-corporations being "job creators" as the Republicans love to chant.
jema...These tasks are physically demanding and may lead to workplace injury if performed by human workers.
davi...Less strain on humans backs!
mcho...Mr Bezos doesn’t pay a living wage to 50% of his workforce. I feel better about robots doing the work (but my boycott of AMZ is still firmly in place!😎)
pkob...Terminator 3, Rise of the Machines
atli...We will need a guaranteed minimum income payment to the lower and middle classes to compensate for the loss of jobs
roy....It is inevitable. Humanoid Robotics will happen
jhen...This may reduce work related repetitive motion injuries however it causes WAY too many workers to lose their jobs.
hjoe...They’re not employing robots because robots don’t get paid. For every robot “employed” another human is unemployed.
pbyc...Feel justified to save the backs of employees.
mrse...Can’t stop technology progress
vick...this will reduce workplace injuries
cgat...Robots will continue to replace humans in the warehouse at all levels which will result in staggering future unemployment. If we don't train our citizens to work in other areas, only poverty problems will result.
lora...This should be done to eliminate people getting injured and then claiming handicap status.

Does Ukraine’s hybrid warfare approach suggest that asymmetric conflicts will become the new norm globally?

  • 92% Yes, asymmetric tactics will dominate future conflicts
  • 8% No, conventional large-scale wars will still prevail

EmailComments
lora...This war needs to end. The world should demand Russia retreat from Ukraine and if not, secondary sanctions should be placed on Russia to force them to retreat or go bankrupt.
szym...This new tech may dominate the modern warfare tactics - but it will serve only to delay the inevitable.
ebr....I support Ukraine and its people. Slava Ukraini
twin...More death and destruction. I dont trust putin to not get down and dirty! He could end this conflict but he loves death and destruction against those countries that dont agree with his policies!!
kvas...Especially if it turns out that it works for Ukraine, of course others will follow the model
atli...No war ever needs to happen including this one. Now it seems that the focus is on how to kill more people faster. Something that technology will insure.

Do you think that tariff negotiations will succeed before the July 9 deadline?

csbr...TACO
kare...Trump is consistently unable to grasp the complexities of global trade. Or anything else for that matter.
jhen...Historically unilateral diplomatic and negotiation efforts have been the most effective strategies. Trumps unilateral bullying has seemed to both slow down and sully any ongoing progress that had earlier seemed possible to end in success.
cfio...Stupid fucking advisors. Tariffs have NEVER worked
atli...Trump's selfishness insures that he will continue to destroy the world economy.
nanc...Seems like a lot of these countries are implementing new trade policies and expanding their trade partners, as they should.
kvas...TACO
lora...Trump has it right. We need to lower our debt and make our allies pay their fair share. WE need to take care of Americans instead of everyone else in the world. Getting manufacturing back in the US will add many high paying blue collar jobs which we had after WWII.
bcar...No, because DJT does not understand tariffs
neal...I really hope other countries don’t change their agricultural/food protections. The food we make here is mostly trash.
cica...We’ll never know with TACO! This clown is all over the map. I Trump is acompletely dysfunctional. He’s a dysfunctional human being. He only ever wants what he wants in that moment and when that moment is gone, he wants something else. It’s too much and never enough for him. Whatever it is.
cb10...And the chaos and uncertainty across the globe will continue.
krys...Depends on one's definition of "success". My guess is everyone will keep giving the orange child tyrant what he wants so there won't really be any new tariffs.
john...TACO
jema...TACO is not a master negotiator despite his high opinion of himself

Would you be willing to try a new drug like BOB-42 that shows high effectiveness in animal models but limited human trial data?

Do you think managing inflammation by blocking specific enzymes is a better strategy than controlling cholesterol levels directly?

  • 79% Yes, inflammation control tackles the root cause
  • 21% No, cholesterol level control remains more reliable and direct

EmailComments
hine...Too early to see if other processes will be damaged by the blocking of those enzymes in other parts of the body.
jema...Yes, as a physician, I believe this research could result in a game-changing drug similar to the GLP - 1 drugs for weight loss. It should be accompanied by the usual measures to help lower cholesterol.
lora...Cholesterol levels can be managed by weight control and exercise. People need to get off their butts and start exercising and loose weight.
etok...Treating the root cause versus treating the symptoms? What a novel idea, but where is the incentive for big pharma
