By the way, the title of your article is a misrepresentation of facts and only brings grist to Trump's rhetorics. BlackRock didn't buy the Panama Canal, but the ports around it. Panama will keep receiving the proceeds from the Canal which is controlled by the Panama Canal Authority.

penn...Panama still exercises sovereignty! We are in no better position. Did Blackrock get bullied into the purchase? What did Blackrock shareholders think of the deal?
arth...The U.S. was suspicious of mistreatment in the use of the canal, by Chinese owned ports and canal use. Blackrock is interested in making money from everyone therefore, should not be abusing any nations ships of portage. This should satisfy the mistreatment fears.

The Trump administration also talks about energy security and the proliferation of natural gas and coal beneath our own soil, yet the companies that develop those American resources have no problem selling them to the highest bidder, which often includes China.

However, the way you’ve framed the "No" response undermines this reality, making the results misleading.
dkow...This was a poor choice for answers. It is not perfect and does not mean the exact same thing as the canal being controlled by our military. It does give way more protections than having the canal controlled by a corporation controlled by China.
cb10...Blackrock will not own the Panama Canal, they will own 2 ports. There is a difference. US trade was secure before this unnecessary deal to a corporation.

Of course since they are a huge company the president will make sure they are not paying their fair share of taxes. Two years ago, I retired the preschool, choosing to focus my time and energy on one business, which required less (minimum) governmental controls. I am a 72 year old widow…widowhood began 7.5 years ago.

miss...It is incredible that there are so many people who are disinterested in the future of space, but not surprising. They have been around since Sputnik. Their ancestors probably hated electricity, and they want you to stay off their lawn.
