mich... | Carney will bring some balance to Trumpism. |
dpma... | Trump is an idiot, a jerk, a tyrant, incompetent and a fool. All the rest of the world understands that. We, as Americans, who believe in liberty, democracy, equality, the rule of law, opportunity and freedom need to "WAKE UP AMERICA !!" |
mcam... | Do not let him bully you. He has absolute difficulty with”Truth” & “Trust me”. Those two concepts are not words or phrases in his dictionary. Word to the wise. A first gen American PhD, MHA-MBA, AB. Dr Michael Camarata |
clai... | Canadians, once our closest ally (both literally & figuratively) hate us. Wonder why?? |
atli... | And while the world positions itself against our idiot-in-chief, the US continues to decline. Hopefully we will follow their lead. |
avaa... | Impeach trump and convict him |
hmar... | Anyone opposed to Trump deserves support. |
jewe... | Canada has voted liberal for years long before Trump. This shouldn’t surprise anyone. |
marn... | I think the poor execution by the Trump administration has scared markets and voters and what sounded good is feeling pretty terrible |
dani... | Overall. I think Trump is doing a great job. But claiming Canada as the 51st state is not one of them or changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico |
fflo... | Anyone who touches Trump loses...ask Elon. |
mdul... | The world is seeing Trump for what he is and that is a terribly poor persona. Trump's continued doubling down on his ignorant (and stupid) assertion of seeking to have Canada become the 51st state is anathema to Canadians. We are watching in real time the decline of the US as a model society and the diminishing of the US influence on the world stage with this being the prima facie example. |
jmla... | Trump pretty much destroys everything he touches! Be careful, Canada! |
lama... | It’s ashamed that the conservative mindset is now linked to Trump. We have the Republican Party to thank for that as well as the Democratic Party which has no reasonable platform for normal centrist to run to. |
thom... | You are all too pitiful blaming Trump when the liberal Canadian population live to get things for free - free defense from the US, tariffs that let them rake in the US dollar, accepting our manufacturing jobs, a neighbor with the best health care in the world to drop by and use - they live in a place where the reality of their situation is unknown because they are freeloading off the US |
davi... | Just returned from Canada yesterday. All domestic problems blamed on Trump. Will Alberta now join USA? |
myah... | This must be rhetorical. Obviously yes |
step... | You don't disrespect an ally like Canada by belittling them or joking about making them the 51st state—that's just rude. If you believe there are trade discrepancies or fairness issues, then negotiate respectfully. We need to Make America Mindful Again. Bring back that MAMA energy instead of provoking others to go on the defensive and throw their elbows up. Canada’s move away from the Conservative Party shows an awareness of the dangers of autocratic or authoritarian rule. Hopefully, Americans will wake up too. |
care... | Yes! Donald, otherwise known to me as "trumpetski" is a danger to the whole world. -- very scary to have an arrested-development six year old in charge of of one's country! |
cb10... | Anyone who aligns with trump is a fool. |
coal... | Congratulations Canada. |
ldew... | Absolutely! |
mds4... | Elect a clown expect a circus. Our Canadian brothers learned the lesson and didn’t have to learn it twice. |
lind... | Canadians perception of Conservatives driven by trump, his tariffs, and threats to their sovereignty, swung the polls in favor of the Liberals. |
ther... | …and it shows that people are vastly uninformed about what really drives an economy or creates jobs. |
clai... | Trump will also lose in 2028 |
cica... | Conservative, economic, and social policies don’t wash with most human beings. That’s why Maga and the far right resort to personal attacks, sewing division among races and outright lying. They pump working and poor people up against the “elitists, but they themselves are elite. They’re really just in it to line their own pockets |
mary... | duh |
andr... | I believe that Canada's infiltration of Chinese Nationals and Socialist Policies have corrupted the country's politicians and their election results reflect that election fraud is definitely happening to keep their Chinese benefactors happy, nothing good will come off this for the Canadian people, only the foreign nationals occupying and manipulating the country. |
nanc... | We can only hope Trump’s toxic rhetoric will turn the tide globally from authoritarianism to democracy 🤞 |
tubi... | anything that touches pedo dumb donald wilts and dies. |
jllm... | Anything to do with Trump is a detriment even the blind can see that |
mlav... | Duh |
davi... | Canada’s nationwide hatred of Trudeau triggered his demise as the leader and PM. Trump has the dubious honour of being even more despised than Trudeau. The Conservative leader and his political advisor were not nimble enough to read the room and focus their Trudeau attacks on Trump. By the time that realized their colossal blunders it was too late. |
mbul... | Seems that Trump is promoting democracy in other countries. |
rola... | Trudeau resigned and the LIberals found a better candidate, who shelved the carbon tax. The Conservatives actually increased their share of voters, and the Liberals look as though they wont have a majority in parliament... |
winw... | Mimicking the Trump style (and some of its content) proved to be a losing strategy |
geor... | Canadian friends are appalled at Trump’s behavior towards them - as am I as an American! There is no doubt that Trump saved the Canadian Liberal party - the only positive thing he has done in his first 100 days! |
bmol... | They are stupid, they didn't think for themselves and the impact of Geopolitics in their country. All the majority focused on is hate for Trump, not understanding what tariffs mean for Americans. Trump is a genius and thank goodness we have him as a President. Good luck Canada! |
k.si... | Please get Trump to resign 3.5 years more is devastating. |
jamf... | Trump is constantly badmouthed by the Press; NPR has toned it down but needs to be more unbiased...like this author here! |
mdda... | Canadians are united against Trump. He has single handedly brought out their patriotism . |

Do you believe that Trump’s administration is effectively managing trade policies?
- 85% No, it creates more complications
- 15% Yes, it's beneficial for the U.S.
Comments | |
---|---|
trav... | Trump failed to have a plan, as result creates problems. Continues to provide misleading information showing his complete lack of understanding. |
whid... | Massive change takes time. The end result of a reorientation of tarrifs and trade policy will be good for the U.S. |
cmic... | He is a disaster |
serg... | Tarrifs are needed to correct trade imbalances |
edmu... | How can injecting uncertainty into the world markets improve economic conditions? It is a global economy now and has been for decades! The US needs to treat all of its world trading partners with respect, not with insults and hostility! |
lenn... | His base voted based on bad economy wanting to have more in their weekly paycheck to survive. Tariffs only hurt his base but he doesn’t really care about his “base” does he. Dude is a joke. |
gabe... | Total disaster. Tsunami about to hit the American and global economy. All quiet now before it hits. Possibility of massive bankruptcies among small and medium-sized businesses. Flow through to larger companies that won’t be able to source parts. |
avaa... | Trump is an idiot and doesn't want you to tell him what to do |
nanc... | How can companies trust him not to change his mind next week? He has no policy. |
cica... | This guy is delusional. He lies constantly. Pretty much everything out of his mouth is just a bald face lie. The Chinese are not negotiating. The Japanese delegation left without a trade deal. It reminds me of Hitler near the end of the war hovering over a large European battle map, and moving armies around that no longer existed or were wholly made up in his mind. And all the people around him just not of their heads in agreement. Sounds familiar? |
larr... | US has been getting ripped off for 50 years on tariffs. Someone is finally standing up for our industries. |
kesj... | Trump has no idea what he's doing he's a man baby throwing a tantrum and losing it |
swfo... | How can Trump invoke emergency war powers for these activities and then selectively alter the details due to non-emergency situations? |
mdul... | At the time of my vote on this point, 16% of people are saying that Trump's effectively managing trade policies and I can only conclude that there are 16% of readers that are not paying attention. The confusion resulting from his on again, off again, tariffs has successfully taken an incredibly strong US economy and brought it to having recession being not just a possibility but now a likelihood. He sought to strong-arm the world and has found, instead, that the world actually can get along despite his protectionist agenda. Economics always wins over policy preferences and Trump is having to eat crow as he bows to economic forces and seeks a way to make himself look less moronic. |
jpau... | The question itself makes me laugh. |
gnku... | Hypocrites glad to gain from slave labor and others need to wake up and save us from our own gluttony. |
lama... | It’s Trump’s ham-handed and uniformed MO that is the problem. A true leader has a vision ( which admittedly Trump has) but a true leader uses his subject-matter experts to put the vision into practice. Trump has failed to do this his entire career. Look at the Atlantic City casino debacle. |
greg... | Hes a jackass |
nsig... | His flip flopping has erroded credibility and confidence in thre U.S. We are sunk. |
joan... | Trump doesn’t understand what raising tariffs does to the American consumer. He should listen to the experts, he doesn’t know the basics of economics , he makes stupid judgements. |
jllm... | He’s only going to take off tariffs that are on other tariffs the old sleight-of-hand |
coal... | Too much ego, too many sycophants around him, too little common sense and real knowledge of the world, it’s interconnectiveness and just plain basic economics. |
wvoe... | That whole pack of thieves is in it to manipulate the market so that they can insider trade and make a ton of dough anybody who doesn't see that it's blind. |
mbul... | Pay to play trade policies. |
rjub... | The selective tariff relief still leaves hundreds of medium to small businesses dependent on imported merchandise stranded. The randomness and selective industry exclusions are punitive for everyone else. It makes zero sense. |
csbr... | Everything Trump touches becomes a failure. He is the epitome of loser. |
tubi... | by all appearances, no. they dont appear to have be in control of dumb donalds diarrhea mouth |
jmbe... | His haphazard, ridiculous tariffs are a lose-lose-lose situation for all concerned (except for maybe the robots who will get all of those jobs when manufacturing comes back to America). |
mitt... | He's an idiot. One step forward, oops, bad policy. Walk it back but make it sound like he did something good. Truly a knucklehead. |
geof... | Putting the tariffs in place was a bad economic decision and the subsequent flip-flopping on them shows how poorly researched those initial decisions were made. They reinforce the view of Trump’s capricious nature. |
cb10... | No, trump has made a huge f...ing mess of everything. |
shal... | Trump starts a fire, it spreds, people scream “help” and then Trump, who started the fire gets paid by the screaming people to put it out and praises himself for “saving” the people from the fire he started. |
jamf... | Time for a new, fresh approach! The manufacturing that will return to the US will be worth it! All goods these days are poorly made in China. A little pain for much gain... |
robe... | This country states long term progress but doesn't achieve it. We need this different tactic. Who wants to be indebted to China? Everyone says no, but yet..... |
mary... | Stop using the word “policies” This administration has no policies. |
Do you think the Iberian Peninsula's electricity infrastructure is outdated?
- 94% Yes, it needs significant upgrades
- 6% No, it is sufficient for current needs
Comments | |
---|---|
rgto... | Just like everywhere else. Nobody wants to support power company upgrades until something like this happens, then it's all "Why didn't they plan for this?" |
john... | There have been no significant infrastructural improvements in 2 decades. Maintenance is spotty |
cica... | Let’s face it most of the people answering this survey question have no idea about the Iberian power grid. I know I don’t. But I’m assuming if it’s like the US power grid it probably definitely needs upgrades. |
jllm... | Really not sure but these things don’t last forever they have to be maintained and replaced when necessary |
Do you believe that personalized product recommendations from ChatGPT will be more effective than traditional search engines like Google?
- 78% Yes, they will outperform traditional search engines
- 22% No, traditional search engines are better for sho
Comments | |
---|---|
geof... | ChatGPT will base its recommendations on more data than a single user would be able to do with Google. |
judy... | It will be user directed as opposed to advertiser directed. The user chooses the criteria for comparison. |
jllm... | I’m sure anything will be better than speaking with the computers that they have now |
Should the development of human-based models in research entirely replace animal testing?
- 57% Yes, we should move away from animal testing
- 43% No, animal testing remains necessary for certain studies
Comments | |
---|---|
xtin... | Animal testing is not at all necessary even RIGHT NOW. The way drugs act in humans and other animals is not the same. We can test on cells and with other models not involving animals. It is barbaric to test on other creatures for the benefit of humans. |
dest... | Animals are bio mechanically different than humans and testing in them isn't applicable to humans. But makes researchers a lot of money! |
jllm... | Safety will always be Paramount |
mary... | Animal testing is cruelty, regardless of the study |
mdul... | Animal testing has been the standard through time because of the need to first test safety before proceeding with human trials and animals were the only proxy available, despite not being perfect for the task. Once testing can be done without the use of animals (distant future but coming into focus), that will become the standard. |
How confident are you in the ability of new technologies to detect cancer at early stages?
- 88% Very confident
- 12% Not very confident
Comments | |
---|---|
john... | A level of detection approaching 75% is not appreciably better than current methods and the new technology has not been applied to any general population without symptoms or not currently in workup for neoplasm |
adam... | Not necessarily at this point in time - but the technology is improving at a a very rapid pace. Eventually the use of liquid assays will be able to identify susceptibilities (genetic), presence of harmful bacteria and viruses, and early traces of diseases ranging from cancers to immune systems malfunctions. |
mbul... | Very confident…IF research is adequately funded. |
whyt... | I don’t trust the medical industry anymore! Where there is profit there is fraud! |
iant... | Seems like a false binary, different tests have varied success rates. Things will get better generally. If science continues to have a place in the US |
