dsze...Typical how the media has couched this as eliminating vaccines instead of telling us it will recommend separate rather than combined vaccines
jamf...It's high time we thought about the impact of administering several vaccines at once for little ones! It's SO risky ( and a bit reckless in all honesty ). Even my sensitive Golden Retriever has his done separately due to sensitivity- and is given Benadryl as a precaution...
flem...I have been a primary care provider for many years and in my clinical practice I have seen a huge improvement in vaccine acceptance and adherence with combined vaccines. Parents want their children to have as few "pokes" as possible and are more willing to accept the combos. They are safe and effective.
mil8...It is important since you can determine which vaccine might cause some side effects. If you do all of them combined, and they have side effects you’ll never get the answer to which one gives them a side effect.
rsob...These vaccines need to be separated, and the timeframe between vaccines needs to be elongated. The purpose of a vaccine is to stimulate an immunity response. Too many vaccines in a short period of time can be problematic for some children. Separating them and elongating the time between vaccines gives their bodies an opportunity to develop an immunity for a specific disease prior to introducing another immune system stressor. What the heck ever happened to common sense?
lmca...I don’t believe a word they say now that CDC is filled with Trump non scientist cronies. What a disaster.
cath...I think it's extremely important for children to get vaccines whether combined or separate.
quay...The risk of lower vaccination rates and and increased childhood morbidity and mortality makes this a bad idea. Parents are busy and 4 separate trips for childhood vacci ation just won't happen. If the politicized DHHS is determined to break apart the MMRV, at least have a trial of splitting it into two parts rather than four and measure the effect.
vand...My kids got high fevers and sometimes were ill after their immunizations. After we spread them out they did much better. I typically only get one immunization at a time and I can feel unwell, weak and tired for about a week after an immunization. I don’t think combining them is a good idea. It overloads our immune system. One at a time and space them out.
rose...This new panel are suspect.
mlgo...This vaccine protocol was developed after more than 25 years of careful research and was advocated by a panel of true experts. The current “panel of experts“ are not appropriately chosen and have wildly anti-vaccination biases. This current recommendation should not be adopted. Will the CDC stop tracking measles as a result to obscure the outcome of this poorly conceived protocols?
dmma...This is crazy! Children already “love” coming to the doctors office. Now they can have three vaccine injections instead of one. This is unnecessary and politically motivated, not scientifically motivated. I was in family medicine for 25 years, this is not an off-the-cuff opinion.
heid...I am fine with separating the vaccines but they should have removed Hep B vaccine now and not wait
atli...Any recommendation coming from a CDC panel staked with persons who have a greater interest in ipolitical ideology than science is suspect.
cger...The Progressive Leftist just love mandating what people should do. Agree with us or we will kill you, is their motto and they follow through with it, as we have seen with Charlie Kirk
bats...If the split is just as effective with less side effects, go for it. I had all four of those childhood diseases and they were not fun! As long as they are effective, of for it!
pkta...People won’t bring their kids in for 4! Separate shots. Keep it as it is.
guin...Reliable data, if there is such, should decide. Life critical decisions for young children should not be made on hearsay nor on preserving the past. Based upon the assertions and examples of contrarians it is probable that today's data needs improvement.
lynn...The people involved at this point don't seen to be interested in the science which is a very scary thing. It will put many children at risk.
lkdn...One additional febrile seizure per 2500 shots is insignificant. The addition of another separate shot adds an economic burden (another office visit often removing caretaker from their job). It also means another stick for the child which may cause more families to avoid a visit.
kcra...Other countries have been doing this for decades once they say the negative impacts of the combo vaccines.
cwhi...I wanted this option when my kids were little and it wasn’t available. I have a friend who’s child was injured by the HEP shot given on day 2. I then researched, spaced my kids shots out….my daughter’s asthma started 5 days after pneumococcal shot at 4, we were in the ER for random asthma attack and she has been strapped to an inhaler since. She is 18. My son, I then waited until 9 months to give any shots, his food allergies started at 10 months. He was covered in eczema, I was done. I wish I had the guts back then To do no shots. My son who had only three is much healthier than my daughter. It’s insane. so I tried and had to live in the shadow of judgement. Thank fully we have RE in our state and that has worked well. I fully support this
dian...The more shots a child needs to get the less likely they are to get them! But I guess that’s part of the purpose of the new rules being generated by Kennedy‘s committee.
lora...Parents should decide if they want their children to have vaccines
ayo....This wasnt an issue until ACIP made it one
step...As long as people return for the full vaccine regimen.
mari...CDC is taken over now by anti-vaxx people. I and family who are MDs do not trust their recommendations now
kell...Anecdotally, people seem more comfortable giving one at a time so we may see an increase in adherence now that people feel they have more control
newb...A bit of fever is a small process price to pay for protection against serious diseases. This move will likely reduce further the take-up of vaccinations. If these diseases spread in US I can foresee a time when US visitors overseas will be required to show proof of vaccination.
step...Children with certain genes like MTHFR are more likely to have adverse reactions to vaccines. The availability for separate options may actually increase the likelihood of vaccination as the risk could potentially be reduced by spreading them out for certain gene mutations.
aper...These separate vaccines will make it harder to vaccinate children!
tagi...I don't believe anything that is recommended by RFK or any Trump appointees. No science involved they are clueless!
koad...Weird. My org has already been splitting it for at least 5 years. Once again, the "experts" catch up.
usn6...Everyone who came up through the 1950's received a myriad of vaccinations - mumps, measles, chicken pox, scarlet fever, flue, polio, etc. They were given individually. I don't remember, nor do I remember my parents talking of news articles of children dying because of the immunizations. Considering the sheer number of the elderly in the overall population, it seems that we were protected...
clpa...MMR has been administered and tested for over 40 years with success. The chickenpox vaccine was introduced separately again, years ago . What is the reason for combining when separated from the MMR has proven successful.
alan...I feel that both the CDC and FDA have both been hiding information from the general public for years. There is a tremendous amount of distrust. It's a relief that administration is finally doing something about it.
sjz....The rise in the number of vaccines given to children since 1986 is alarming. We should be protecting our kids in all ways by constantly reassessing the data.
kdmc...Febrile seizures are usually harmless, but are terrifying to witness, increase anxieties, and increase vaccine hesitancy. Providing the same vaccines in a way that reduces adverse events is a no-brainer.
pete...I think that is a very dangerous and unscientific action. We are putting our young children and elderly at great health risk and going back to the dark ages.
ades...Recommend goes against scientific data established so far
nick...RFK seems to be on a witch hunt on vaccines rather than providing evidence. I’m all for reviewing policy but I believe it should be done with facts rather than hunches. Overall I think this leads to distrust in the CDC and the overall administration.
jeff...No scientific evidence.
gibl...Why would I select the choice that results are more seizures?
dian...You should include that there is a 0.00001% rate of febrile seizures from the mmrv vaccine and most children already get the split already eliminating that miniscule risk.
kell...Because it’s a group of hacks making these changes.
sara...Everything you put in your body causes in effect so when you add all four together, the possibilities of multiple side effects increases. If combining off four causes 15% a possibility of seizures and giving them separate separately lowers that risk than I think separating them is justified.
cann...There are many vaccines that children don’t need at such a young age. Or at all. I truly don’t trust the CDC after the Covid fiasco.
ninr...One of the biggest complaints during the hearing was the number of shots that are recommended. This only make more separate numbers of shots.
john...Both should be available. Parents, together with child’s physician , should make the decision
kold...We don't need fascists to control our medical decisions. Parents and their physicians should have rights.
supi...If anything I think it will increase compliance. Parents understand innately that giving a young vulnerable child 4 different diseases in one shot is ludicrous.
jmja...Not sure why people are opposed to separating a single vaccine into four component parts. This way the CDC can finally track side affects associated with the individual components vs. the combined vaccine. Something is causing the side effects and we should want to scientifically figure that out.
lind...I work as a nurse in pediatrics and I’ve seen babies suffer consequences from vaccine related side effects so I believe offering vaccine administration in a manner that spreads it out over overtime rather than bombarding them with multiple shots all at once is merited
rtea...There is no science to back what they Are saying
phal...If your child has ever had a febrile seizure, it is extremely scary. And if that reduces the chances of a seizure I support it. Parents who will get the MMR will come back for the V. It wasn’t available when my children were young. But my son did get a fever at two months after vaccinations. That is scary enough. Of course, my children were fully vaccinated. I’m not an idiot
tlea...What a bunch of idiots
math...It's hard to get kids to take a shots now they have to have more needles
tred...I think a closer look needs to be taken on at how many vaccines are on the recommended childhood immunization schedule….and how data bases store and receive vaccine resorts from various sources. I think a federal data base would be helpful so all vaccines administered to children are reported and stored the same way.
deau...I'm not expert on immunology but it seems obvious that younger children should get different vaccinations or vaccines at a different rate than their older counterparts.
mrse...Febrile seizures are harmless, although admittedly can be scary to parents. Increasing the number of injections can increase non-compliance
sand...I have been praying for this forever!
nanc...All the progress made in combatting these dangerous diseases will be wiped out. Besides lowering vaccination rates, it will make it harder to get the vaccines as drug manufacturers struggle to strike a balance.
ksur...CDC powered by dummies while ignoring the science.
kvas...Science should not be directed by public opinion. What does it matter if 10,000 non-scientists swearing on a stack of Bibles declared their support for separate vaccines? Would that make it a scientifically supportable conclusion? Please let the scientists do the science. Kennedy is not a scientist, but he's tainting the reputation of one of the leading science-based agency in the federal government with his weird personal opinions.
mojo...Combined vaccines remove freedom of choice for parents. I should be able to choose the MMR or individual vaccines for my child.
megh...This means less will receive all the vaccines. We already have low rate of adherence.
bjef...Sure, it's quite simple. Decisions are being made by people with no clue what they're doing. I don't trust any recommendations from these clowns and am very grateful I'm an MD and know better.
stev...As stated, the combined vaccine poses higher risk of dangerous side-effects. Safety first!
coal...Any compromise that still allows for people to choose to give vaccines at all is something we need to consider, due to the complete stalemate of divisions in this country regarding just about every facet of life, it seems. Somebody has to start compromising. As long as this isn’t the start of totally dismantling the whole CDC structure, (which will have to be watched carefully) I’m in favor of reasonable compromises in our political structures that govern our democratic lives.
jenl...As long as the option for consolidated MMR vaccine still exists for those who want it.

How do you view Trump's direct engagement with industry through initiatives like this?

marc...The Infrastructure and training are not there
gibl...More jobs for America. More secure supply chain for goods for America supports national security
emyo...The devil is in the details…
bjef...Oh, goody. I get a grand...and the national debt doubles that I get to pay for. How stupid does Trump think we are?
lora...Trump is doing a good job in making America first. He also is creating a business climate which will create jobs that will reduce unemployment. People on Welfare or other government subsidies need to go to work.
cger...Progressive Leftist are infected with TDS. Just like Kimmel, and Colbert, it will destroy them.
crai...A manufacturing based economy is key to the success of the middle class. Industries like steel, aluminum, shipbuilding, aerospace, space, AI, automotive, oil, pharmaceuticals and military are key to national defense.
bphi...It’s socialism.
kaka...Why would anyone want a felon who has bankrupted multiple companies and committed fraud with the rest anywhere near our economy?
atli...Given that the Republican Party is the party of capitalism and the anticapitalistic nature of this action I suspect Trump's interest in autocracy and power over other nations is his motivation rather than his alleged interest in benefitting American workers.
kvas...Old Fat, Ugly, and Orange has made it clear that it will favor anybody or any entity that does its bidding and will punish those who don't. In any other president's hands, I would support an initiative to encourage business development, but in Old Fat, Ugly, and Orange's hands it's just a way for it to line its own pockets with my tax dollars. Hell no, I don't like it.
alec...This is Chinese authoritarian government overreach 101. He's also spending money we don't have.
momm...As we have already seen, too much gov influence over corporate sector not only distorts market signals but creates path to corruption. Company decisions are increasingly affected not by rational investment analyses but by fear of retribution or desire to achieve regulatory approvals. It is wrong and counter to the democratic principles underlying our constitution.
nanc...I’m doubtful this administration will do anything above board that will be fair and accretive to the American people. At this point, all I see are a bunch of scammers looking out for their own portfolios. It will be interesting to see how many buy stocks in companies they are negotiating with.
btaw...If it’s to support incentives and infrastructure to support job growth, then it’s great. If it’s to buy stakes in companies for the government to be a shareholder, then it’s not great.
to55...King Trump is trying to control business , religion and free speech The Founding Fathers are rolling over in thier graves. Trump has no limitations on the damage he is doing to our country's founding principles of seperation of Power.
mojo...Direct partial ownership is a slippery slope. Big government and big business are already too close and a danger to our freedom. Removing un-needed regulation and speeding up approval processes should be a priority. Governments at all levels are too slow to act.
caff...The government has no place investing in business enterprises. Their role should be to create a climate in which business can prosper while ensuring that regulation control the baser instincts of commerce and protect citizens health, safety, and welfare.
bret...The government should not be choosing winners and losers. The government forcing investment to gain favor puts the economy at risk. Inefficient allocation of capital reduces the growth potential, limits long term job creation and stock performance.
limm...The goal? Bring manufacturing back to the US!! It's the safest option-given China's attempts to harm Americans.
tagi...You can't trust anything Trump wants to do. He only does things to make money for himself not the American people.
jenl...Because he inevitably brokers a personal financial benefit for himself and family in any business deal.
pete...governement industrial planning and ownership has never been shown to result in net positive benefit to the US econmomy.

Do you believe Ticketmaster's business practices are primarily exploitative of consumers?

  • 98% Yes
  • 2% No

bjef...Ever bought a ticket? Then you'd know.
mcam...In addition to the concerns voiced in the article, ticketmaster is adding service fees that are excessive adding unreasonable profits from the monopoly they have created. In some venues the service fees are 25-40% of what the ticket face value is. How they are allowed such a monopoly, I leave to you, the recipient of my comments. Dr. Michael Camarata
lisa...They should not be deceptive about pricing and should not allow brokers to buy more than a certain amount of tickets
alan...Venue pricing has gotten out of control.
jim....I've quit attending concerts because of the resellers exhorbitant prices. I don't mind performers making money but I will not pay for tickets at current prices. And God forbid something like Covid comes along and shows get cancelled...resellers disappear, your money is gone!
joyo...Airline ticket sales, hotel rates and property rental rates. One person could pay 4 times the amount that another consumer has paid. Car rentals are pretty much across the board rental rates. Why can’t prices have a set amount?
tubi...Hilarious!! must be Ticketmaster's employee of the month selecting no. lol
bret...Ticket fees are also excessive. It is 100% online, absolutely no reason for fees to be so high.
atli...Another monopoly that needs to be dismantled.
greg...Often times entire rose of 40 seats together are withheld and prices are substantially higher. As the day gets closer to the event, prices will slowly drop, but creates artificial high prices on the consumer making it unfair.
geof...Duh!
dand...Rascals
mich...There should be a limit on how many one person can purchase. The resale profiting and extra fees are extremely high. The cost to attend any event at this point is so inflationary and doesn’t need to be. It is actually much higher than the actual cost of the event.
cica...It’s parasitic capitalism
nanc...No question there!
kvas...I can't even buy tickets to my favorite sports team's games directly any more. I have to go through some outfit like Ticketmaster and pay insanely inflated prices. A pox on them and on the sports teams that force their fans to go though them.
ende...Individual resale was not legal years ago and I don’t believe it should be today, it makes it unaffordable and I believe artist themselves should be against making unfair availability to the fans. I am blessed to go to what I want to see but I I don’t like what I see happening to the arts of music
aper...So tired of trying to buy tickets directly and not bring able to get them. We are being FORCED to buy them through a third party for a ridiculous price. Either stop these sales or demand that the ticket be sold for face value. We need to take the profit out of these ticket sales.
mich...Literally almost no value to consumers.
lora...i refuse to buy any tickets thru ticketmaster. The fees are higher than the tickets for the event.
char...They are, and have been for a long time, and absolute monopoly. Their fees are egregious.
deau...Lmao. They've been exploiting concert goers for a long time. Let's be serious.
stew...Live Nation owns the venues, TicketMafia owns the platform This is a monopoly
sand...Most definitely

lora...This enhances security.
kvas...Thanks to a belligerent and bellicose U.S., the world is forced to choose sides resulting in alliances like this one being formed. The outcome of the tensions around the world is too easy to see. Do we really want to test how close to mutual annihilation we can get?
tubi...id say theyre sick and tired of satanyahoo starting fights and have drawn a line.
nanc...Not a surprise, in light of Israel’s actions.

In your opinion, is BMI an effective measure of an individual’s health?

  • 68% No, it oversimplifies health assessments.
  • 32% Yes, it serves a useful purpose.

cami...I am a skinny person with chronic illness. Doctors do not take my health issues seriously because I am skinny.
laur...Did the study contain any possible confounders such as: people who are thin may have cancer or some other chronic or acute disease that could cause both low BMI and increased mortality?
shan...BMI was created by a mathematician looking to quantify what he saw as the perfect European male specimen. Why are we still using it?
alec...Bmi was designed as a population statistic. It was never intended for individualized Health tracking. More importantly, you should go back to the initial question is being thin too dangerous? The answers is resoundingly yes. Please do some research on anorexia in the devastating things it can do to young people. It would be a great subject for one of your excellent deep dives.
gibl...It’s a bad question, I think the intentive question is is using a high BMI to determine health as being bad versus a low BMI being used to determine good as historically have thought appropriate in the answer to that is no, but can BMI be used to German health it sounds like we understand that if it’s too high or too low, it could be used to flag health concerns so in that case if we use it according to the data then yes it can’t be very effective
atli...This latest study demonstrates that BMI continues to be assessed for its reliability and future improvement.
cand...BMI serves as one tool among many to help assess a person's health situation. Certainly many other tests are more critical than BMI such as blood pressure, diabetes test, bone scan, and blood work just to name a few.
