Just facts, you think for yourself

Should the US and other nations respond to China’s industrial expansion with their own massive subsidies?

  • 75% Yes, to stay competitive
  • 25% No, let the market decide

EmailComments
clee...Do not support China, buy USA made.
doct...China potentially could eclipse the USA in manufacturing and GDP if we don't take measures to compete.
cand...I don't know about the other countries but the US needs to get more independent in all aspects
rola...Much better use of money than massive tax breaks for the wealthy few.
nick...There’s no reason why we shouldn’t be self-sufficient. We saw during the pandemic why we can’t rely on goods from other countries when we can produce them here.
atli...The US should import electric cars and solar panels from China to save the world from climate destruction.
akyg...Choose sectors which involve national security.
chri...The Chinese have screwed themselves with industrial policy that produces goods beyond what the market can absorb. If you want ship building, get the unions out of the shipyards. Want semiconductors, get the EPA out of factory planning and give us more H1-Bs. Becoming more like Communist China as we see their policies fail them is silly
jimm...Half the country doesn't understand that government needs to subsidize and protect new tech development. Half the country is fearful of renewable energy and despise electric vehicles.
cjma...The more we can produce - we will be in a better position to sustain ourselves
lpga...Country of nearly 350 million population and rich country should never ever depend on other countries.
loui...I would be supportive if the US had a better track record (e.g. Solyndra, etc) of subsidizing industries effectively.
ham3...In theory we should be continent independent as much as possible.

Would a US-controlled Gaza benefit the region or make things worse?

  • 80% Worse: Increased tensions and conflict
  • 20% Benefit: Stability and investment

EmailComments
star...I can't see it getting better on their own bc they are not financially independent enough to make the change they need. However I don't want our tax dollars going to other countries when our citizens are homeless.
jimm...What Trump proposed is a war crime.
djmc...Trump is a toddler playing in the big kids’ sandbox. The most dangerous people are those who think they know all the answers before they even know what the question is.
amel...Gaza is not for the United States to even consider taking over. Gaza belongs to the Palestinian people.
smcc...Who are these idiots that think otherwise?
jimb...What happened to America first?
mary...The US needs to stop thinking it can just take over areas of other countries.
cmic...It would be a quagmire. The "America First" President's ideas on this are ludicrous.
pvol...Eliminate the Terrorist leaders. Rebuild the infrastructure and help elect a government that is non religious based, and truly population oriented. The only way to bring peace to the Middle East.
cb10...The US needs to stay out of it.
jpcd...it's common sense
cher...Palestinians are real people, not pawns. They need to be left alone and given their land back.
joem...Trump’s plan completely ignores the people, culture and history of the region. Forced relocation of the people and stealing their property is both illegal and immoral.
cjma...It would become another place for the rich and super rich and the developers would make a fortune and the people of the area would see very little benefit
cola...No more colonization. America is run by Israel, we are its puppet.
rods...I think if we control the Gaza strip they will just shoot rockets at it. Remember these people are taught to hate Americans best to just stay out of Gaza let the people that live there deal with it I don't want to see killed because of us in the region
chri...This seems to be a ruse to get the people in the Middle East to solve their own issues lest the adults come police the playground. It's about time our children (soldiers), tax dollars, and destroyed national monuments (9/11) stop being destroyed by Middle East entanglement. We just don't need the oil anymore.
will...[How can tension and conflict be made any worse than it has been from 1947 to today, culminating with Oct. 7, 2023?
atli...The US should push for a UN protectortate in GAZA
kibb...Is our president intent on starting WW3? The suggestion by President Trump is simply astonishing. America has no right to just take over another country. The last thing we need to do is further mess up the Middle East.
pegg...This is a land-grab from displaced people who have a history, culture and love of this spot of land -- it's their home!
gbtk...The idea is more than absurd and it comes from a deranged mind.
tria...Only Trump is stupid enough to make this bad situation worse.
lpga...We have no right to snatch some other country and force their citizens to go as refugees to other country.
sjoc...The US will become targets of terrorism. "Redevelopment" will bog down with ownership challenges and security complications, commitments will stall, and future administrations will be left with a costly mess in Palestine.
jmbe...I continue to be appalled that a slim plurality of US voters elected a bullying, egotistical, pathological liar to lead our country into chaos and ruin, as he sets up an oligarchy to impose his grandiose schemes to control not only the US but the entire world (and Mars).
loui...We have enough going on. We don't need to be in the region and will just make it worse.
exmx...Everyone who lives there hates the USA. Absolutely hates us. Yeah some may like modern tech, music, movies etc.. but deep down we are the evil ones. There’s no way the US could occupy any areas there. And to relocate the Palestinians ? That’s absurd!

Do you support the US trading rare earths from Ukraine in exchange for military aid?

  • 69% Yes, it’s a fair trade
  • 31% No, military aid shouldn’t come with conditions

EmailComments
exmx...Yes but we will never get involved deep enough to fight Russia directly . At least we better not China is their ally not ours.
davi...While it is important to help others in need, there should be some transfer of funds or a way of showing appreciation for those that have helped.
mari...I do with the understanding that trump owes so much to Putin that this will be a balancing act for favor of Putin over any gains.
jpcd...Stop Putin is the right thing to do. NO CONDITIONS
mary...It’s important that US continue to oppose Russian takeover of Ukraine. If some exchange/trade can be worked out to make continued support for Ukraine more palatable to the current administration, this is a good thing.
rgto...We're supposed to be supplying aid, not hiring our military out as mercenaries.
cjma...We should help Ukraine in order to keep their country safe from a communist regime that would just plunder the country and the people would only suffer
nmed...Yes let’s get something back for all our help for a change. !!!
maur...It will help revitalize Ukraine’s economy as well

Did the US and UK make the right decision by not signing the AI communique?

  • 62% No, global cooperation is essential
  • 38% Yes, AI should be market-driven

EmailComments
milt...If we want to compete with China, global cooperation will be necessary
jimm...VP Vance is buddies with Peter Thiel and is motivated by personal greed.
chri...Also, the other significant player, China, won't respect whatever silly pieces of paper the EU wants signed. At least we are honest about our intentions.
pvol...You do not regulate an important new technology and expect to be the leader. Excessive regulations will place the US in third place.
rgto...Hate to agree with Macron, but I think that AI needs to be treated like raising a child; set a baseline set of rules, then as you (and it) learn, make adjustments.
hanl...Oligarchy is thinking only of themselves
gett...Let’s have more data to determine a path forward. New and shiny things are not necessarily wanted, needed or required to make life on earth better Or easier.
atli...If China has a better solution it should be accepted by the US

Should all JFK assassination records be fully declassified?

  • 90% Yes, the public deserves to know everything
  • 10% No, some secrets should remain classified

EmailComments
chri...As terrible as the truth may be, accountability is the long term path forward.
wate...Who are those loser 11.5% who like the government keeping secrets and lying to its citizens?! Mind boggling.
akyg...Enough time has passed to permit this.
tomd...Sensitive information should be disclosed on a need-to-know basis, and most of us clearly don't need to know. This is to protect our national security and prevent the misuse of such information.
atli...All data on all subjects, not just JFK, held by the US should be declassified
jrbu...some have connected the dots. these will help the resolve
debs...We should know everything about JFK’s assassination.
rjbo...The information leading to a clear picture of what happened should always be a fundamental right of the public to know!
ham3...Then maybe we will all understand how corrupt or not the government has been. Hopefully put it to bed.
kink...A public servant was assassinated. There should be as much transparency as possible.

Which is more exciting: quantum teleportation or AI advancements?

  • 77% Quantum teleportation
  • 23% AI advancements

EmailComments
milt...This is a really hard decision. Both are important and even interelated. Quantum advancement, whether it is teleportation or quantum computing, will end up supporting AI, and vis-a-versa, in many ways. They will both advance because of the other.
chri...AI is incremental. Teleportation, even of data, is ground breaking.
ham3...Without a doubt
