The "Big Ugly Bill" adds $3.4T to the national debt over the next 10 years, provides tax breaks to the uber wealthy, $350B for the immigration-related terrorism of ICE, but, oh by the way, partially funds those tax breaks by cutting $1.2 Trillion from Medicaid and food stamps and reducing green energy incentives. Oh, and raises the debt ceiling by $5T. Once again, the middle class takes a beating. Are you kidding me? In my almost 64 years of life, I have never seen a more gutless group of politicians, rubber stamping just about anything the cult leader wants. Remember the last election, when Republicans ran on fiscal responsibility and conservatism? When they railed against Biden/Harris for spending and adding to the debt? Where's that argument now? Happy Independence Day? More like happy Debt Dependency Day.

I worked in the Environmental Education field with a MS. Pay was very, very low and my Social Security reflects that. But after dedicating my life to public service this is what I am left with.

kath...Medicare is something that all retirees need. There is no way that most people can afford the high cost of private insurance. This bill will hit the most needy people in our country. We work all of our lives paying taxes and into Medicare so that in our later years We do not have to worry. mari...Reports on this bill have been negative concerning cuts to Medicaid, Medicare, and possibly Social Security. I am worried. I receive Social Security. As for the deficit, I don't give beans to how much debt there is because there are benefits on the other side that keep the economy growing, that benefit Americans - that is never mentioned when the deficit is mentioned. But when the Republicans, who are such “keep the debt low” people, then vote to add $3 trillion to the debt to provide tax cuts to the rich, taking vital social benefits from the poor and needy, I become very dismayed. Think about what else those new trillions of dollars could have been spent on; social security is said to run out by 2034. That could have been shored up. Medicaid could have been funded better, rather than removing less fortunate Americans from the health care they need. And all this extra debt to benefit the top 5% of wealthy Americans! This is wrong, and it happened right in front of our eyes.

The massive, ballooning budget for ICE to hunt down hotel maids and gardeners and old immigrants—nobody wanted that but Stephen Miller. And the "no tax on tips and overtime" is such a joke! It is not permanent - only runs through the end of Trump's term in 2028 and only covers up to $25,000 in reported tip income and only $12,500 in overtime pay annually. And these are phased out for individuals with modified adjusted gross incomes exceeding $150,000. And it does not apply to payroll taxes (Social Security and Medicare) or state and local taxes. So why aren't these tax deductions permanentt like the tax deductions for the Billionaires that were made permanent under this legislation? Looks like Mr. Trump only pretended to care about the little folks.

debd...Our healthcare system will be decimated, with a tremendous expansion of the uninsured population, which will shift the burden to hospitals to care for sicker patients in already overflowing ERs, and adding to the bad debt. Rural hospitals will close, and those health systems that can weather the storm will cost shift to the insured population, causing health insurance premiums to skyrocket.

If someone gets laid off of their job, or they need to stay home to take care of a special needs child, they cannot qualify. The bill does not address necessary use cases, nor does it address the problem it will create with an increased homeless population.
