Just facts, you think for yourself

Should the U.S. immediately suspend all immigration from countries perceived as high-risk, even if it delays humanitarian aid?

andr...Libtards are destroying this country
tdel...Due to Biden border policy the country can’t afford not to shit immigration down and vet those that weren’t vetted during Biden open border policy.
cyto...This is not immigration. This is a result of the US betraying locals who helped the US in foreign occupations such as the middle east/Afghanistan. Is it a mystery?
olav...We need immigration, how can we collectively punish EVERY third world country?
cemc...The delay of humanitarian aid to suffering civilians in high-risk countries should never be permitted for any reason. These suffering civilians would leave these areas if they could. They are usually trapped there or they would be gone already. We are talking about women and children here.
blik...How will it delay constitutional "humanitarian aid"? Only private charity is Constitutional. My tax dollars should not be going to feed and prop up any other country's poor - I have my own local Charities to give my money and time to help out. Government "philanthropy" is illegal, immoral, and proven inefficient, and often falls prey to the very sinister persons causing the "humanitarian crises" in the first place!!! See Mogadishu.... See HAMAS..... time to learn....
clou...Knee jerk reactions are his bread and butter, but have historically been very unsuccessful. He needs to educate himself to what brought this on and address the underlying issue instead of labeling a hugely varied group of people as a blanket threat.
jess...I’m shocked at 51% of people said no
jamf...We need to undo all the damage ( terror cells entering US ) Biden did to our country.
dmis...Where in the story does it even talk about Humanitarian Aid. I'll bet the results would have been different if "even if it delays......" was deleted
sanc...stop immigration now (it should had been stopped long many years before) from all countries that dont assimilate with us and are not willing and hate USA. Stop aid of any kind to all of them, because is not appreciated and taken for granted and mismanaged. Exception are peoples in war aggression with food needs.
gper...Entire policy needs to be over hauled with thorough vetting and clear expectations and consequences when in our country.
k.a....The US has to prioritize security. Delaying further immigration will provide the opportunity to get a handle on who is here, are they vetted and legal. Millions were let in under Biden with no vetting and released into the country. It’s obviously a security risk.
bmoy...First, your question should not be two parts as that begs a No answer. Second, our nation and our citizens must be the first priority.
c_ma...America first.
chri...Trump reacts inappropriately to every event.
30yr...We are a nation founded on the principle of people escaping tyranny. Shutting access off to those very people goes against the heart of what this nation supposedly stands for.
sher...Don’t punish everyone for one persons actions. US born citizens also break and commit crimes. If you want to cast blame, blame easy access to guns.
robs...Would the 50.4% + 5.8% of this newsletter's readers welcome immigrants from HIGH RISK COUNTRIES into THEIR NEIGHBORHOODS? Are their responses driven by Trump Derangement Syndrome or Stupidity Derangement Syndrome?
ent....There is not justification. Despite this terrible situation.
evel...A couple bad people are not representative of the whole country and should not hold up desperately needed humanitarian aid.
mind...This comes down to Trump and his hate filled rhetoric. Crime, violent or otherwise, by immigrants is much lower than the same crimes by American citizens. Trump just wants a group to be the Other. Other is easier to understand for many people. Once other becomes familiar, it is less scary. Trump is doing all he can to keep the Other scary. What many don’t realize, at one point or another, they will be in the group Other if it fits Trump’s needs. He wants us to hate each other. That gives him more power. He wants more power.
atli...A culture of volence breeds violence, whether it is domestic or international. Our leaders reaction to horrific events will predict our future.
jame...Suspend, no. Elevate scrutiny, absolutely.
kink...If the category of country is considered “high-risk” then certainly pausing immigration until backgrounds can be verified is something the US and any responsible nation should always be doing.
rich...This is a terrible incident, but complete bans are an over reaction. By the way, this guy's asylum request was approved under Trump's watch from what I read. Is everything that happens negatively in this country Biden's fault? I am tired of his constant attacks on everyone who does not kiss his you-know-what.
brbc...It’s sickening as this survey shows America is in a serious decline. DEI isn’t everything. Keeping our Republic in tack is.
derr...If their beliefs are counter US culture they need to get aid from another country!!!
ajsh...The protection of a nation's citizens takes first priority over the aid provided to other nations, which is a gracious benefit but not civic duty.
just...If this individual immigrating under current laws is directly responsible, then certainly it should be considered, but if not, we cannot tie nationality to policy for crimes.
allw...Not a normal immigrant. CIA-backed. Relevance ?
will...People should be a case by case basis.
roch...One case alone has nothing to do with it. This is ridiculous, every time something happens, this country takes harsh measures. Just charge this guy and keep life moving
drtm...Humanitarian aid should should be a lesser priority than the safety of citizens living in the country that provides the aid.
brya...While a sad situation it is a one off incident. It’s easy for people, who have never served in these countries where people sacrificed their own safety to help us, to say let’s cut off asylum for all afghans that helped us and haven’t done a thing wrong since coming here
paul...I mean, aren't they supposed to be thoroughly screened? Not just pushed through? So, if they pass the screening, they should be ok, right? Maybe the screening process needs to be scrutinized.
suet...The administration needs to vett immigrants more thoroughly before allowing them to enter the US. This administration takes every opportunity to blame someone else for their failures.
tess...This was a horrible deadly event that is now being used as propaganda to vilify anyone who has been granted asylum. Where is this type of response when an American kills innocent civilians in mass shootings?
tybr...in
dvdb...Hell yes send them back to where they came from,i fought in Vietnam and I don’t get half of what these fools get
jay....Punish entire countries and regions over the actions of one individual? C'mon...we're better than that>
shie...We must reset
cger...For far too long, Progressive Leftist Democrats have been causing chaos and anarchy with their open border policy, allowing 10-15M unvetted, ILLEGAL aliens and others who want to harm the Untied States and undermine her by taking advantage of her.
lkdn...This guy was trained by the CIA to be part of a group of Afghans who infiltrated the Taliban and assisted their leaders. He was a product of our strategy.
kkjj...50 % say no... why ?????
yuks...We should not be labeling ethnic groups based on individual acts. Based on the news, same ethnic group help US military, etc.. in Afghanistan. Over the years we have seen terrorist acts by many ethnic/race/religion groups. Even typical white American citizen that served this country ( US soldier) did terrible terrorist acts, but we did not go after white/christian groups and cancel their citizenship.
lori...Most violence comes from home grown bad actors. Immigrants statistically are less likely to commit crimes of violence. If Trump cared about terrorism he would have not pardoned the January 6th insurrectionists who acted at his behest.
jose...Trumps kneejerk reaction is over the top. Wait until we find out more information about the shooter.
sing...Just another excuse to deport and prevent brown people!
kfer...We still owe so many that helped our military in their service, at threat of their own safety, without whom so many more could have died. We own them and their families the safety of our embrace.
darc...We should protect our own people and country first.
noch...And also look into ones granted us citizenship, who do not want to embrace the American culture!
fcse...This guy received refugee status in April-by the Trump administration. Trump uses Biden as a scapegoat. There had been Vetting all along the way. The combined Biden Trump administrations are responsible. It should be taken out on other asylum seekers. But Trump Refuses to take responsibility for anything.
ksit...With everything that is going on now we should concentrate more on our own country and suspend any more people entering the country. There is no way to check out the background of each person. Hence, the unnecessary death and wounding of our people who are trying to do their job! It makes me want to scream!!!!
hine...If we can save one American life by taking a closer look now then it is worth it.
mark...Fix immigration policies in Congress.
gill...The action of one individual does not mean all from there are a threat....thats racism!
katl...Trump will use any excuse to stop immigration.
phel...We do not need people in this country who do not want to assimilate and be lovers of our great country
pete...The vast majority of all shootings in America are comitted by Americans. Inevitably, there will occasionally be a shooting by an immigrant, whether from a so called "high risk" country or otherwise. The number committed by immigrants is proprtionately less than those committed by Americans so there is no logical reason to halt immigration from any other country.
pame...Humanitarian aid is essential and should not be tied to the actions of an individual
vita...They cant be trusted
kelt...immediate vetting of illegals needs to be done. These attacks will continue if not done. Some bad eggs ruin it for the good eggs
gulp...Don’t allow poison into the food
knca...Each case should be considered.
jeff...He was granted asylum by Trump! This is just another overreaction!
robi...They always use an excuse to paint a whole group of people with the same brush
jack...This was a deranged individual whose actions cannot be blamed on immigrants especially those who risked their lives to assist us and who we left behind in Afghanistan!
padd...It is poor policy to damn all immigrants based on the actions of one.
usct...We have always taken care of those who have aided America during foreign wars. This has taken place since Vietnam. If we want to throw out every ethnic group due to the crimes of a few or the one, this nation would have no population.
kvas...Of course Comb-Over blames Biden for anything bad that happens. This shows how big a threat Biden represents to Comb-Over's ego. Anybody who is kind, thoughtful, caring, and open-minded makes Comb-Over look like an even bigger jerk by comparison. Anyway, I don't trust any subjective judgment Comb-Over makes. It's never a judgment honestly made based on facts. It's always a judgment intended to inflate his ego or line his pockets or punish his enemies. So, what is a "high-risk" country? I wouldn't ask Comb-Over.
wvoe...While this particular component incident was from someone in that community, most idiot shorter are home grown idiots born right here in good ol 'merica
jean...This is a necessary step now. Whether they have been radicalized after living here or are open yo leftist ideology, they are a danger.
fnpn...If you don’t put America first right now, there will be no America tomorrow.
ted....When one illegal Mexican or one legal Afghan commits an isolated crime does it cause an advanced society to blame an entire nation’s immigrants ? I suspect the violent crime rate among both legal Afghans and illegal Mexicans is much much lower than native born Americans including if you look strictly Caucasian/White Americans. This diabolical killing in DC is an isolated case. There is a huge difference between stricter vetting and “halting immigration” as a result of a single incident. This is Trump’s limited brain at work trying to stir up his base and gain some of his lost popularity back!
barr...tRUMP's massive overreaction to every event and "Biden Blaming" is so ridiculous.
dian...If trump had not needlessly sent the National Guard into DC, none of this would have happened. The issue isn't immigration; the issue is the needless use of American military against the American people by this power hungry wanna be dictator
twin...This guy was let into country by trumps reign. He is always wanting to blame Biden or anyone else! Shame on HIM! Now he will round up more innocent people with no recourse on their end. We are ALL IMMIGRANTS EXCEPT THE INDIGENOUS PEOPLE! People sent back to their country will be killed and that will be on trumps guilt!!! Impeach him!
donh...Why punish legitimate immigrants?
ther...We need a country
jwir...Get them out of our country, they are security threats.
ltco...The asylum seeker was deemed less dangerous of two bad outcomes. Sounds like a movie plot and now the unintended consequence of aggression and murder were under estimated. Asking a militia’s members for restraint when put into a corner is like asking a tiger to change their stripes. Foresight and long range planning would have been better. I’m sure with the death penalty as an option the government will find a way to hide the sins of the past. The innocent suffer poor judgement.
mdul...Trump blamed Biden? Gee, that's odd (note the sarcasm). Let's not forget that Trump said his deployment of the National Guard on DC would make it "crime free" and then he declared the city to actually be crime free. How is it then that we see crime coming from DC. A review of the published crime stats for DC makes clear only one thing - that the deployment hasn't produced any meaningful change. Yet, Trump said DC was crime free and used that as justification to deploy troops to more American cities (interestingly, only to Democratic-controlled cities even when crime stats would suggest Republican cities should also be targeted if the goal was actually to prioritize high crime cities). So, no change in crime stats, dramatic costs in deploying troops within the country, heightened tensions with the populace, and now a consideration to expand further his racist immigration selectivity. No, that's not what a leader would be doing.

Is it appropriate for one country (the US) to unilaterally exclude another (South Africa) from the G20 summit?

  • 72% No
  • 20% Yes
  • 8% Depends

EmailComments
rich...Trump is like a six year old deciding who is worthy to be at his birthday party.
barr...Also inappropriate is holding meetings at tRUMP owned or managed hotels.
kvas...We will all end up tripping over Comb-Over's giant ego in the end. Excluding a country because of Comb-Over's ego needs is counterproductive.
robs...Right, so 70.2% + 8.5% continue to support reverse discrimination based on race. Nice!
brad...Especially when it’s based on a lie.
nanc...Everything about this is wrong. It’s trump’s bigotry, pure and simple.
erla...That's how it works
cger...It's hilarious when the "cancel culture" (70% of your readers) balk when the "tables are turned"
jose...Pay to Play for Trump!
bjef...Trump is bankrupting the US. Why should we be in any G20 summit should be the question?
jamf...Countries must be held to high standards...
30yr...Facts don't lie. Regardless of what you might want.
just...The whole point of a summit like this is to bring together nations that might not under other circumstances meet with one another.
cynt...And isn’t it inappropriate to have the summit at a Trump property?
ralp...But not in the case of South Africa. Trump pedals false information about this country.
lrie...This is another example of a racist President.
atli...Trump is creating a bully nation that reflects his own personality.
mark...Trump shouldn’t be allowed to hold the summit at his own hotel property.
phel...a consensus vote on the matter would be better than only one vote making the devision.
ther...Someone needs to have a backbone.
mdul...The G20 is not an organization created and run solely by the US. Trump is one participant in the group and people can even argue the most important, but it doesn't confer on him the right to exclude any country unilaterally. Let's say that the G20 were next to be chaired and meetings held in Canada and that the Canadian PM decided to unilaterally exclude the US as a result of its predatory and unjustified tariffs. Would that also be alright with the 19% who said yes to this question? I suspect not and that they are thinking that the US should be allowed to do whatever it wants and the rest of the world cannot follow suit.
elli...Western countries should boycott next year
paul...While apparently the G20 is not set up in such a way as to allow this, clearly, visas can be denied, making this a reality. It seems odd that Biden wanted to ban Russia over the war in Ukraine, yet that didn't happen. I suppose he couldn't enforce it bc the meeting was in South Africa, not the USA, although, I wonder if he really would have. Now the USA will be hosting in 2026, so Trump can exclude whoever he wants, but will he? Or is it just to force acknowledgement of the land redistribution in South Africa?
crai...According to Amnesty International, the UN, HRW, NYT and UNICEF violence has dramatically increased in the areas of; Gender violence, Violence against immigrates, General crime, Farm attacks, Police brutality and Violence against children. In addition, human rights issues have increased dramatically causing national protests. When the summit is in the USA it is entirely appropriate to exclude countries like this from invitation.
knca...All should have possible input for world impact.
pete...The G20 has to decide who is and is not a member by concensus not by any one country, regardless of their power or wealth.
drtm...If a country is not in line with the primary goal of G20, which is financial cooperation, then maybe is appropriate.
rwwi...I think outliers whose policies are not aligned with ours should be at risk of exclusion. The opposite would also be the case.

How critical do you believe centralized data centers like CyrusOne are to global financial market stability?

  • 56% Extremely critical
  • 37% Somewhat critical
  • 7% Not very critical

EmailComments
rwwi...Fully functional systems are critical to markets. Their systems cannot be allowed to be subject to this kind of risk, short of a super-natural disaster.
cger...Apparently nobody remembers the "don't put your eggs in one basket" philosophy
bjef...Simple, if it fails, all hell breaks lose. There should not be a single failure point for anything.
drtm...Should be backup centers to avoid international arbitrage, especially on "low volume" days when prices are much easier to manipulate.

Should residents have the right to demand independent fire safety audits on their buildings?

  • 97% Yes
  • 3% No

dmis...I mean yes of course.... but it's China... I don't think they care what we think.
robs...The official death toll from the 2025 LA wildfires was 31. Residents in Communists countries, including PRC controlled Hong Kong, have no rights. Allowing 300+ people to die is not unusual in the PRC, North Korea or Russia. Socialism is much closer to Communism than it is to the Constitutional Republic we have in the United States which is based on life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
paul...Clearly there was nothing done to ensure safety here. When it isn't (or can't be) enforced, this is what happens. Such disregard for life.

When eating fish, do you believe it’s better to carefully remove all bones before eating or rely on careful chewing and swallowing?

  • 81% Always remove bones before eating
  • 19% Rely on careful chewing/swallowing

EmailComments
dmis...How is this a survey question? Common sense says to remove the bones then chew carefully.
nanc...It’s not always possible to remove all bones, depending on the fish, so both answers would be appropriate.
tomd...How about doing both? I don't see a big deal in erring on the side of caution given the significant consequences if a bone "escapes" our efforts to "screen" it out.
bjef...The first is obvious. You should still do the second. It's saved me many times.
paul...Really the answer is both, because even when you try to remove all bones before eating, some slip by. Therefore, careful chewing and swallowing are just as important to catch what wasn't removed. This is common sense. I don't understand how it is an article, much less a question for feedback.
