jpwp...Suppression of a culture inevitably will raise international targeting outside state boundaries like the IRA. All Jewish communities could be targets at risk as a culture leans to the notion they no longer have anything to loose and slide towards extremist behaviour. Countries who enabled Israel’s military and political assault could and likely become targets also. There are no winners in this game.
frie...When you have a malignant tumor it must be removed or it will kill you.
mich...Given Hamas’ past and present stances on destroying Israel (“the Jewish Nation”), I do not believe any resolution other than complete elimination of Hamas and temporary occupation by Israel of 100% of Gaza will ensure secure peace for Israel. With Hezbollah, Syria and Iran all limited in their military capabilities, Hamas is the one thorn currently in Israel’s side. Unfortunately, the 2 million residents of Gaza have suffered and will continue to be victims until Hamas is obliterated.
amz1...No occupation ever resulted in lasting peace
kpd4...I belive a full military occupation is needed for peace. However, i don't believe there will ever be lasting peace.
mdsw...Israel and Palestine will never stop fighting for control of the area. The only solution is for the USA or China to take total ownership
nanc...What would you do if you were subjugated or forced from your homeland? The Palestinians deserve to have a place of their own, albeit without Hamas and with help from the world to form a new government.
atpp...HAMAS and the PLO must be completely removed from Gaza
dave...The amount of pain inflicted on families and, especially children, will continue this conflict and hatred far into the future on both sides.
davi...The history of the conflict demonstrates that a full occupation would prevent further attacks from that area.
edin...Very simple. If Israel laid down their arms tomorrow they would all be dead within a week and the country would be in chaos for decades. If Hamas laid down their arms tomorrow/ released hostages the violence and suffering would stop immediately. Not hard to figure this out
pman...It’s a horrible situation- and Israel and the Muslim nations are both in the wrong- but being pragmatic- Israel is there - they have the right to defend themselves- they have the backing and the weapons- it’s time for this war to end - and in all wars there is a winner and loser - unfortunately these two groups couldn’t just tear each other with mutual respect and live and prosper together
jhma...Israel was brutally attacked on 10/7/23 and no other nation in history has ever provided humanitarian aid to their attackers. Israel has done a good job of facilitating the flow of humanitarian aid, it has been the short comings of the UN that failed on proper distribution and keeping it out of the hands of Hamas. Overall I found this article to lead the reader to place blame on Israel instead of the terrorist group Hamas that has controlled Gaza since 2005.
dsht...No other choice to stop hamas
caro...This is against international laws and must be stopped and sanctioned.
pvol...Hamas must be eliminated from Gaza if there is going to be any peace in the Middle East. The Hamas leadership is committed to maintaining their stranglehold on the Palestinian people and have no regard for their welfare.
bria...No peace can prevail without complete defeat of Hamas, and that will not happen until Israel has total control of Gaza. Not necessarily forever, but until Hamas is rooted out.
tomd...As a Christian, I believe I can safely say that Israel is all for peace and that hey are not aggressors. Thus, I believe Israel would provide the adult supervision of the area that would help ensure stability and promote good will among all.
omar...Israel must be destroyed
jthi...Israel needs to cease all military action immediately and allow aid to flow in with minor inspection!
dand...There never seems to be a time when there isn’t conflict in Gaza. As long as religion is the guiding force, I doubt there will ever be peace.
mdul...Paraphrased quote from a movie, "Once you think you understand something in the Middle East, stop and recognize that it's much more complicated than you think." There are no clear answers in the region and we should recognize that reality. That being said, I never thought that Israel and Judaism could possibly cede the high moral ground but they are succeeding in doing so. I think the world was united in Israel's aggressive actions following October 7 but now feel that the response and continued actions are disproportionate and approaching genocide. It would appear that Netanyahu feels that his end goal of completely removing this one of two adjacent Palestinian enclaves will be forgiven in history's retelling but, even if that comes to fruition, it seems likely to be measured on a scale of decades.
ljar...Violence begets violence!
dmaz...With a full occupation, the US will be on the hook for the cost of defending Israel against the entire Middle East, probably making oil way more expensive.
edwa...Depends on how Qatar supports further terrorism through out the Mid East in pursuit of Dar al Islam. If Israel fails, Europe is over. Reverse crusades will follow.
rios...The failure to acknowledge that Gaza is a nation whose religion and culture are incompatible with that of Israel will pepetuate another Vietnam or Afghanistan.
tony...Hamas' continued aggression will further conflict. The occupation seems like the only reasonable response.
maar...This conflict cannot be resolved as long as the international world order maintains that a evacuated population has a right to return. Think of the principal applied to native americans; Indians and Pakistanis; Greeks and Turks (in each, hundreds of thousands were displaced and compelled to live elsewhere.
bruc...If the Gazan's are offered another place to live, Egypt especially, or any neighboring country, away from Israel there will be peace
arth...Likely occupation forces will continue to face car bombings, clandestine fighter and suicide bombing fighting, but will be able to control other more devastating weapon, and military organization. There is unlikely to be any peace.
mken...Surprised you didn't mention the ongoing starvation of the people in Gaza. 'Aid deliveries remain limited' drastically minimizes the situation.
pjpa...Time to cut the snake's head off!
mast...Only elimination of Hamas control can restore normalcy to the region and the Gaza people.
edc....There will never be lasting peace. But Israel needs to take Gaza for humanitarian reasons.
smil...Hamas doesn’t want peace
blik...HAMAS = Brainwashed LIARS. Trust an islamist jihadi to tell truth and be trusted? That is stupid, as in October 6, 2022 “thinking”. Time to wake the hell up, people. HAMAS is starving the ignorant “civilians” there! Wake the hell up!
coch...Subjugation of a people will only lead to bloodshed.
vyeo...This is genocide and inhumane of what is happening in Gaza!
bobb...Israel has become as horrible as North Korea and Russia. The blatant genocide, starvation and territorial expansion have caused me to lose complete confidence and respect for that country, especially NetanYAHOO. Why is the world just standing idle!!!
patg...genocide
biba...End all wars!!!!
paul...Best left to the experts to decide.
crai...The only way forward has to include the elimination of Hamas. They have not demonstrated any interest in peace or the interests of the people in the region
acts...Why did you list only the Palestinian death statistics?
priv...This is a no brainer.
jayi...There is no chance of peace with a neighbor who wants to destroy you. From the 3005 truce rockets thousands of were fired at Israel.and then 10/7. No possible 2 states solution.
robs...As long as the Palestinians and the complicit Arab World fail to stand-up to the Extremist groups within Gaza who continue to misinterpret and misuse the concept of jihad to justify violence and terrorism like they have done for most of the past 2000 years, there will be no peace until these people and any memory of them no longer exists.
jald...There will not be any peace as long as Hamas is around. Israel needs to go into Gaza and remove Hamas for peace to work.
itsf...Hamas should have released the hostages. Blaming Israel for everything is beyond stupid and shallow.
zsid...Genocide is not a military conflict.
jsko...wish he would just tell the truth.
jefe...No piece will ever be achieved as long as the Muslim terrorist start every day by saying if you are not like me you must die.
clif...Anyone who thinks that leaving Hamas in control in Gaza will lead to peace is delusional.
ste5...There is no pease without Hams gone
jsst...It’s the wrong question. Would deporting or incarcerating all people of color lead to more racial harmony in the US? Your framing ignores the Palestinians as humans and steps over the disproportionate amount of civilian deaths vs military deaths thus far in the war, instead accepting Israeli framing of this as an expansion of a military conflict instead of the decimation of a population the far right in Israel has long expressed an interest in eradicating.
samm...the young population in gaza has been fed nothing but pure propaganda of the most putrid form since 2005 and realistically to fone any grace after their many many defeats, their schools must be rebuilt and american/israeli led. the word ‘martyrdom’ must be forbidden in all areas of life. the playbook is, of course, the de-nazification effort in germany after the war. only with education and with explocit and extreme penalties for reverting to their propagandized hateful past is it possible for Gaza to have any future at all. or they can never give up their fight and see what happens.
shab...The USA needs to stop sending money to Israel and give it's own citizens free health care, education and a good retirement path!
joll...Please. The people of Gaza need to be relocated back to their villages within Israel!!!! Israel needs to pay for their relocation within Israel! All settlers need to be relocated outside the West Bank!!!! In the boundaries of Israel. There will never be peace when Israel has its Zionist racist supremacy agenda! Are you kidding? War mongers. Mass murder. Ethnic cleansing! Most of the deaths are children. CHILDREN!!!! Anyone who does not see this tragedy for catastrophic denial of human dignity. All you all are sick in the head.
dfai...When an irrational terrorist organization rules a country, the only way to guarantee peace is through a complete obliteration or occupation.
jenl...Stamping out a group of humans does not ensure peace. It's also kinda impossible to totally stamp out a group of humans.
csbr...Israel is a US sponsored terrorist state.
retc...I think the only way to defeat Humas is to occupy Gaza. As evident Humas has no desire to give up. Evil must be rooted out of Gaza.
alfo...There will never be true peace in that region regardless of what is done. I support Israel’s right to finish this war that Hamas started. I believe that Israel will be somewhat safer if they control the region, hopefully temporarily, and/ or eradicate Hamas’s presence. Unfortunately, I don’t see Hamas agreeing to anything that will prevent this. Another example of the saying “ you can’t negotiate with terrorists”.
re13...Hamas has to be completely eliminated. The full occupation of the Gaza Strip is the beginning of this eradication of a terrorist group that vows to destroy Israel and Jews. It is true that Israel is the vanguard. Terrorism will grow if Hamas is not destroyed, and their targets will be in the west.
pilo...It’s biblical. Peace will not come.
bbqn...Israel’s government is a full representation of the people with multiple voices while Gaza is ruled by Hamas, a terrorist organization and proxy of Iran both of which are committed to tithe destruction of Israel. Peace can only be achieved with equal representation and tolerance
sopa...Only Israel can provide peace to palestinians.
cger...Until Hamas is removed completely from Gaza, there will be no peace and the Gaza citizenry will go hungry as the militants steal all the food that goes into the country, selling it back to them at high prices. As long as there is Hamas, there will be further conflict.
tubi...the idea that the land belongs to them because a couple of hundred year old book says they lived there 2000+ years ago is ridiculous. mongers mongering
emil...Pure colonialism is action. Fuck Israel.

The stock market is hitting record highs despite tariff-related challenges. How do you view the market's interpretation of the situation?

  • 67% Markets are overly optimistic about the economy
  • 21% Markets have correctly priced in risks and growth potential
  • 12% Unsure/ Other

mcma...Markets don’t say how Americans are doing. Just ur bosses’ bosses’ shareholders are doing.
cger...Tariffs affect FOREIGN IMPORTED GOODS. Buy American and the country thrives.
andr...Hard to be a better predictor than the market is, but I think short to mid term, we go higher, especially as interest rates inevitably fall.
mdul...The markets seem to be feeling that TACO will remain the most likely outcome from Trump's actions but they seem to also be discounting too readily the enormous hardships everyday Americans are already facing with more price increases coming. Currently, the S&P 500 P/E is 27, compared to a long term average of 18. That kind of premium might be justified if markets consider that an uptick in earnings is coming but all signs point to companies having absorbed as much of the tariff impact as they can, leading to reduced earnings, not increased.
geor...Correction, the DOW hit it's highest ever of 45,014.04 on December 4, 2024 - so not all the markets are hitting record highs! Just listening to Bloomberg and CNBC stations, it is not surprising that one person is talking positive and the very next is on the negative side as far as how the markets will go in the near future. And the biggest bets are on AI development companies. These companies can easily succeed while a large part of the economy sinks due to tariffs. As many companies are coming out saying they are having to raise prises, I won't be surprised if we have more "Liberation Days!"
pion...Optimism is an emotional, not rational, term. Rational economic analysis says that tariffs on goods supplied to the US will produce domestic inflation over the next few years until the increased costs are absorbed into the US economy. Years will be needed to repatriate manufacturing to the US, if ever. Reording the supply chain is complex and costly. AI is distorting the market indices. How AI will impact employment is uncertain. We are in a very confusing economic period.
nanc...Everything is fine on Wall Street, until it’s not. They are all wearing blinders, because greed has a way of clouding their vision.
tubi...more like, in spite of dumb donalds actions.

Do you believe OpenAI’s valuation of $500 billion fairly reflects the company’s current impact and potential?

  • 63% No, the valuation seems overly optimistic
  • 37% Yes, it’s justified by growth and innovation

aalo...There's already so much competition it's hard to claim that there'll be one monolithic AI company emerging from the field and that it will be OpenAI.
samm...they pay out more in equity than they take in in revenues. just a grift - why else would insiders be selling?

Do you believe that threatening additional sanctions on Russia and its oil buyers will effectively pressure Russia to end the war?

  • 57% No, sanctions have limited impact on Putin’s decisions
  • 38% Yes, economic sanctions are a powerful tool
  • 6% Unsure

nanc...The fact that Putin is proposing a halt makes me wonder if Russia is doing worse than we realize, and would suffer from sanctions. Of course, it’s also unclear if he would actually approve a halt or if this is just another strategy to postpone.
mdul...With Trump having so visibly spared his mentor, Putin, from his trade war and additional sanctions, Putin has certainly felt emboldened and confident that he will be able to continue thumbing his nose at the international community. Trump's subservience to Putin has now become so plainly obvious to even MAGA fans that Trump needs to do something to make it appear he is a strongman also. With all of that in mind, recognize that enforcement of sanctions is essential and Trump's TACO habit would seem to suggest we can expect little on that front.
gjmi...Gordon hard on Russia, Putin is only playing Trump
arth...The Russian economy is currently being propped up by China, India and others buying their oil under the table. Start heavy sanctions against these and pressure will really be applied by Russia’s allies and trading partners. For sanctions to work, Europe will have to simultaneously buy into the action.
deca...He wants all the land lost during the Cold War back; by any means necessary! Putin won’t stop at Ukraine!!!!!!
geor...I would hope further sanctions get Putin to pull back, but I don't believe he is afraid of President Trump. Unless Trump really stands up and supports Ukraine totally, Putin will continue to keep stringing Trump along. I think if Trump takes Putin on full force, then we will know Putin doesn't have something bizarre on him. If not, I think we will know Putin is in charge.
brad...Putin will tell Trump what he wants to hear and then proceed as planned.
cger...Putin is evil. All things left as they are and we see doesn't affect him. By escalating sanctions against him and his enablers, like India, will affect his "bottom line", and hopefully put increased pressure on the Russian oligarchs to pressure Putin.

geor...Absolutely, and it appears that they can also help improve the use of hydrogen. Per Senior Hydrogen Analyst Brian Farmer, "Hydrogen is a lower carbon solution that is particularly effective where direct electrification is not feasible." And until this President decided we don't need to protect our air, most of the large oil companies like Chevron and Exxon Mobil, etc. have plans to use Hydrogen as alternative fuels for power generation and industrial clients as well as for transportation. And we don't need China's or Russia's rare earth metals to achive this power - all the elements needs are right here in the US.
