ecek... | Positive. Cybercurrencies are going to be mainstream, best to get regulations in place now. |
twin... | Dont trust this administration. They are passing acts so that they can not be held accountable! |
nanc... | I’m with Sen. Warren. Everything to do with crypto seems on the edge of legal. Not enough visibility. |
jede... | Another way to fleece the public and make the principals wealthy |
jenn... | It's high time we (US) catch up with digital currencies. This a good first step. |
jrsa... | Don’t know enough yet |
geor... | I agree with the Senator that the current Bill doesn't go far enough to protect the public. |
jed0... | Bitcoin, does it make your secure to know that your retirement monies are being utilized by a system you don’t understand? |
pegg... | An audit at $50 BILLION??? Want to guess how much fraud will happen in the $40 Billion range? Fools! |
bsan... | Will lead to panic exits when one coin wobbles. |
rcun... | It seems like a step in the right direction, but if it doesn't protect consumer rights they need to improve the bill |
lavo... | What the heck is it and why are we going away from the dollar |
amia... | too many loopholes |
zuke... | Im glad were having checks and balances with this. But protect consumer first. |
klkr... | Once again, it's all about Trump |
paol... | There is a need to have transparent backing of stablecoins with liquid assets prior to adoption. Furthermore banks should count issued stablecoins on their list of assets that count as reserves. |
rose... | The general public is not knowledgeable about this form of investment especially the elderly & will be taken advantage. |
rbir... | Don’t have enough info for an educated opinion. Article was insufficient to make decidion. |
clai... | Crypto industry should be held to the same KYC/AML standards as banking. This is a boon to crime. |
froz... | Stapleton, bitcoin, etc. do not follow the Constitutional framework or rules as to who can create and issue currency. |
pwwe... | It is just something else for the wealthy, you don't even have to report any gains under 50 billion. That must be the average gain for Americans. Our nation worships something but it's not God. |
john... | At best stablecoins are unnecessary and at worst will be unstabilizing. 1840’s anyone? |
exmx... | I need more info |
yvet... | Don’t know enough about it either way but glad they are going to start regulating |
ange... | Too many ways to fool the public! |
atli... | As the consumer advocate I most trust I would look to Senator Warren for advice. |
leyl... | We need to move away from our reliance on a private bank, The Federal Reserve, dictating how much our money is worth and when we are in an inflationary period. Money needs to be backed by something, not just printed! |
karl... | Government has no reason to back or guarantee bitcoin. |
mary... | The House and Senate aren’t passing any legislation that benefits the likes of me. |
dann... | Don't know enough about it. |
tkil... | This entry into cryptocurrency validates the current President making money at taxpayers expense and risk. |
gran... | This seems like a cure for no known disease. The average person has no need of this or any other “unsecured" currency. There are abundant options already in existence for those needing to play investor speculator games and it will erode dollar value internationally. |
paul... | I am against anything that Trump endorses. Additionally, I prefer tangible currency. |
tubi... | i feel its being turned into a legal ponzi scheme. |
Do you believe lowering capital requirements for big banks will improve stability in the U.S. Treasury market?
- 58% No, it could increase risk
- 22% Unsure / Need more information
- 20% Yes, it will enhance stability

john... | GOP is doing this and the stablecoin thing to juice demand for the US Treasuries the government will need to sell to fund their BBB abomination. Just raise taxes instead which would reduce Treasuries demand, interest rates and the trade deficit without increasing risk to the financial system. |
ebr.... | 2008 great recession all over again |
kvas... | Lawmakers need to accept that banks (like all corporations) will do anything for a profit if they think they can get away with it (hello Wells Fargo). Keep the existing regulation but make an exception for holding Treasuries. If they lower the cap requirements, the big banks will find ways to abuse their new freedoms at the cost of consumers and investors. We could avoid so many mistakes if we just learned from our history. Let's not forget the Great Depression and the laws and regulations which have been successful in avoiding another. |
mjla... | Because I “remember” |
gkra... | HUGE MISTAKE. OVERLEVERAGED BANKS ARE A RISK. |
chis... | This just puts us back pre-2008 |
mary... | Ha! |
grov... | It may be due straight short term, but the long-term effects would have to be negative because it increases leverage without collateral. Not sure how this would affect US debt |
clin... | It increases risk however it will provide more liquidity and I believe this is needed. I don’t think this was a good survey question. |
nanc... | Does anyone even remember what happened in 2008??? |
bock... | A further concentration of financial institution assets and the lowering of the bar for capital requirements has only one ultimate outcome and it will be the taxpayer as the backstop for the next economic shock. |
Should US states be allowed to regulate artificial intelligence independently of federal oversight?
- 50% Yes, states should have regulatory authority
- 50% No, only the federal government should regulate AI
Comments | |
---|---|
nanc... | Federal regulation is preferable, but If the federal government isn’t doing it, the state should. |
swjo... | California |
magc... | Only because states’ law could force federal to asct |
jame... | Let the states do there responsibilities Like education Let the Feds do there’s Why do we have to have several levels of government trying to do duplicate tasks |
imkm... | If the 'big bullshit bill' aims to cease fed regulation of ai for years, someone's gotta do it. How bout them 'states rights'? |
jenn... | AI is already having an unchecked effect on the environment. The current administration is not qualified nor are their priorities with human or environmental safety. |
jwon... | I think the states should be allowed to regulate. That doesn’t preclude the Feds from regulating, but it does protect citizens until the Feds get their act together to do something, since the only ones regulating AI right now are the states. Fed law overrides state law anyway and the Feds have had plenty of opportunities to regulate and haven’t done it, so why would we think they’ll do it now. |
saml... | I generally find that individual state rights around regulatory frameworks allows for A/B testing on policies to find out which ones work best, even if it comes at the cost of companies having to figure out how to handle a fragmented regulatory market. |
miss... | With 50 states regulating AI then there will be 50 sets of eyes and minds on what works and what doesn’t work regulatory wise. States can adapt much faster to innovations and practicalities of AI than would be possible with the Federal Government. |
atli... | While I generally support unified federal policy, I have no trust in the current government to avoid selling out to the highest bidder. |
Should the U.S. consider targeting Iran’s Supreme Leader if the conflict intensifies?
- 54% No, it could trigger uncontrollable escalation
- 24% Yes, removing leadership could end the conflict quickly
- 23% Only as a last resort after all other option

atli... | Israel is guilty of the same international law violations for which the Nuremberg trials found the Nazis guilty |
swjo... | Irans rulers are in power only because of the terrorism of their own people. They should decide what to do with him. |
magc... | No! |
jame... | Not our war.... |
tere... | Remember the WMD from Gulf War 2, seems history repeats: our spies say Iran is not intent on producing nuclear weapons, but war hawks see an opportunity for mass destruction of Iran’s military, political leaders and , too bad, collateral damaged civilians as a worthwhile cause for war. Israel is determined to destroy its enemies - civilians be damned. The worm always turns. |
tubi... | israel in intent on starting wars and will do all it can to involve the us. trump and whomever is advising him, is moving the carrier group over as ducks, hoping for something to allow him/them put the us at war. |
fran... | It would make him a martyr and rally the people against the U S. Let the people suffer under his policies will cause discontent over his rule. |
csbr... | Only if the Israel and US supreme leaders can be targeted by another country since they have become the catalyst for conflict too. |
jim.... | Leaders should always be the first to be targeted. They may then think twice about starting a war. Instead, it is mostly the poor and innocent that pay the ultimate price. |
jenn... | This is not our war. Congress has not declared war. This is illegal. The president cannot just just decide to go to war. Trump should be immediately removed from office by way of impeach/convict if he drags our country into this. |
mary... | Wow. Easing capital rules and going to war in the Mideast. George W Bush called. He wants his presidency back. |
akyg... | Stay the hell out of this. Have our forces support Ukraine instead. |
tech... | Let the Persian people decide his fate. |
kjla... | Stay out of it! |
Would you personally trust a medical implant powered by a betavoltaic battery containing carbon-14?
- 81% Yes, if proven safe and reliable
- 19% No, I’d prefer non-radioactive power sources
Comments | |
---|---|
jenn... | I would only trust it it tested outside of the US. |
news... | We are already poisoned by poorly regulated food and retail industries causing increased cancer rates. The last thing needed is radioactive power inside our bodies. |
Do you think a weekly oral capsule for medication is preferable to daily pills for managing chronic conditions?
- 75% Yes, easier to manage
- 14% Not sure
- 11% No, daily doses feel safer
Comments | |
---|---|
donj... | this is a no brainer. a weekly (or even longer dosing interval) is critical in schizophrenia b/c in many cases, patients can develop paranoia as part of their symptomatology, and sometimes it becomes focused on the patient's medication regimen, so the less frequent the dosing exposure, the greater the chance for longer-term compliance. While a weekly pill is nice, a monthly or every 6 months antipsychotic depot medication designed for risperidone would be even more helpful. Obviously the latest research suggests that what we've called 'schizophrenia' is actually 6 distinctly different formal thought disorders, each of which are optimally treated differently, so what I've stated above is shared within the existing accepted schizophrenia paradigm but when this changes, my endorsement of said medication formulation would no longer be relevant. |
nanc... | It’s easier for me to maintain a daily routine. |
ebr.... | People with bad memories will forget to take their pills if spaced out too infrequently. Better to have a daily routine set up. |
