rkap...Not under this incompetent Political Leadership. He's liable to fire on Iraq and think its Iran!
arth...They lie, they can’t be trusted and a nuclear weopon in their hands is unthinkable. It’s a sure bet we stop them now or we lose some of our cities trying to stop them later.
coll...Yes we all know Iran can’t be trusted lol when you see a monster you stop it and trump is the only one who will stand up to the scary monsters, ! Thank you god bless America 🇺🇸
exmx...I’m very surprised Israel hasn’t already stopped Iran
byro...I'd rather destroy their work now than after they drop a nuke on Israel.
join...Any society that still chants"death to America" and promotes war against "infidels" cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons. A focused surgical strike might be in order.
jame...Let Israel take care of it
broa...This will force Iran into seeking nukes.
raje...Many years of delay in imparting consequences for bad behavior.
usct...If Trump would have left the Iran nuclear deal in place we would not be in this position. Trump has a great ability to destroy agreements and has no replacement plan. Why use military action to overcome an act of sheer incompetence on Trump’s part.
tubi...the US is not the world police.
badu...Most educated and intelligent observers of Iran's negative impacts on the world stage know they are dangerous terrorists and would definitely nuke Israel. They must be stopped at all costs and held accountable for the deeds of their proxies.
mary...I’ve seen this movie before. It was extremely costly in blood and treasure and ended badly.
andr...Good lord, this country is half way across the globe. We need to focus on home. Reminder that a similar reaction occurred during the rise of India and their nuclear ambitions.
barr...Let the Israel do the military fighting. They did it before. The United States supply the Israel military with weapons let them do the fighting.
bham...We should first use economic sanctions to persuade Iran to end their quest for a nuclear weapon. If that does not succeed militarily action may be required. Iran cannot be allowed to have a nuclear weapon.
trag...Keep disputes on the conference table, not the battlefield. We don’t need more killing and destruction
find...Absolutely!
quin...The Iranian regime would never stop...They are evil and should be removed from existence.
walk...Well, maybe, after total sanctions, possible blockade
ebr....Sure
mark...They will use it!
alir...Who made US god?
atli...Iran is logically trying to defend itself from US threats. End the threats and negotiate in good faith through a 3rd party since the US alone cannot be trusted.
csur...Yes, but only striking key personnel, preferably using Ukrainian drones.
jody...I don't trust Trump to be smart about it
jllm...I’m tired of worrying about another lunatic with his finger on the button, Trump is enough
kold...Why should we attack a country for doing what we have already done? And we know that the best deterrent and stability in nuclear matters is mutually assured destruction.

Should private banks be free to set their own penalty fees without regulatory limits?

andr...Govt needs to step out of the way.
rgar...The fees are not a secret. They are part of an agreement you make when you borrow money.
geor...We saw what happened when we allowed the banks to self regulate - remember the failing banks and savings and loans companies that decided to lend people way too much based on their financials and then we taxpayers bailed them out! Here we go again!
tomg...Who could trust them?
just...It Protects Banks, Not Borrowers Removing the cap gives banks and credit card companies the green light to jack up late fees again, disproportionately hurting low-income borrowers and young people just trying to build credit. Late Fees Are Already Profitable In 2023 alone, credit card companies made over $14 billion in late fee revenue—much of it from repeat charges that don’t reflect the actual cost of missed payments. It’s pure profit at consumers’ expense. This Fuels the Debt Trap Higher late fees can quickly spiral into larger balances, compounding interest, and worse credit scores—especially for people who are already financially stretched. It Undermines Consumer Protections The CFPB was designed after the 2008 financial crisis to stop abusive financial practices. Rolling back this rule sends a message that corporate profit takes priority over fairness and financial stability. The “Free Market” Argument Falls Apart Trump and his allies argue this rollback supports a free market. But consumers don’t have real leverage here—you can’t “shop around” for a bank that doesn’t charge late fees when they all do it unless regulated.
9812...Should private banks be able to keep 10% of customers deposits because ,,,,, 1) They would like to 2) They told themselves it trains depositors 3) Board members need another 25% pay boost
jllm...We already know how banks react with a free hand, 2008
scos...Strict banking laws prevent predatory practices by financial institutions.
erwi...This is just another example of the current Administration's power to make the rich richer, especially the billionaires. Unfortunately, we are in that path already with everything going on. Just read the executive orders signed by Trump. It's nice to belong to the upper 5% in this Administration especially the 1%.
cica...At this point, the banks are part of the oligarchy. And this is what you get with populism Trump promises one thing and deliver something completely different for somebody else. The oligarchs. The average middle class working person is getting screwed.
trag...There has to be some oversight of late fees to protect consumers $8 may have been too low and $32 too high so perhaps arrange a medium fee like $20. I suspect the rollback has more to do with a constant desire to reverse any measures taken by Biden and not on the merits of the issue
walk...Not for total unregulated, but $8 is a total joke, must be some pain to encourage people and cover lenders costs
mori...The public needs protections from greed
raje...Yes but only if you can discharge credit card debt thru personal bankruptcy.
pken...Left to their own devices the Banks would be capable of usurious fees on top of ridiculous interest rates.
chri...Consumer will never be able to overcome debt. Banks will increase fees more than what the consumer essentially purchased. Unlimited interest rates from banks.
anna...US consumer finance is predatory and needs to have guardrails
mbul...Capitalism is free markets with regulations. Without regulations we might as well go back to serfdom.
trac...Consumer protections are important.
marg...The banks gouge low income consumers too much already.
husk...Banks have to much power.
tubi...no because banks act covertly and without ethics, using legal ploys(created by manipulated legislators) to raise and create fees, as they have done time and again in the past.
ewaj...The poorest people are the individuals that keep balances on credit cards… they pay most of the billions of $ to the banks… the poor get poorer and the rich … well you know 🙄

Which best describes your relationship with banking?

  • 56% I use a large national bank (e.g., BofA, Chase, Wells Fargo)
  • 40% I use a credit union or small/regional bank
  • 5% I avoid traditional banks

jllm...There all the same
atli...Banks formerly bailed out by taxpayers serve to enrich billionaires at the expense of the financially vulnerable.
kold...Totally online. I have not been inside a bank in more than 10 years
wspc...I banked with First Republic. Now Chase. I miss First Republic!
mars...I also use a credit union for savings
trac...With local banking, I see an involvement and impact upon the community it serves directly. That connection to community is key.
geor...Since banks have been permitted to move from state to state and continually buy up all the smaller and local banks! We need even more oversight to keep the banks from failing again. Trump already dismantled the Consumer Financial oversight federal office
more...All th major banks are corrupt institutions. Wells Fargo are the worst. If there is a banking scandal, you can be sure WF will be a leading particpant.
coll...No fees no worries no drama

Is it acceptable for a company to claim no liability if only a vendor system was compromised?

  • 81% No
  • 19% Yes

EmailComments
jllm...They should pay more for to protect their systems
robs...The company doing business directly with the consumer should be required to pay a penalty directly to the consumer. They can try to recoup that penalty from the vendor they poorly selected.
walk...A contractor is responsible for it's subcontractors, period!
marg...No party should be able to outsource responsibility for their conduct.
cedr...When the subvendor tool is a part of Hertz's product fulfillment, the complete chain is the responsibility of Hertz. The buyer has an expectation with Hertz and doesn't know or select the set of subvendors
rodn...You have hired a company to do a service, you are responsible. They might want to look at their hiring third party vendors. Instead of picking the least expensive, pick the one that has integrity.
neal...If I’m paying someone to do a job and they fuck it up, it’s not my fault. It still might be my responsibility though. Though Hertz might not be legally liable they should still be apologizing and doing what they can for their customers.
husk...If they require you to give them your info they should protect it.
nanc...Shame on them!

nanc...Some patients may be more comfortable with this treatment than one offering a “transformational experience.”
dana...It would be a godsend for me. Hopefully it would treat anxiety and GAD for those of us whom regular ssri treatment is insufficient.
trac...Now ..as recreational drug, yes
coll...Move on..mushrooms way better…and not HUmaN MADe all natural 🍺
apur...The transformational experience is a critical factor in the therapeutic effect of hallucinagenics.
