Just facts, you think for yourself
How safe do you personally feel about helicopter flights compared to airplanes?
- 88% Helicopters feel less safe
- 9% Equally safe
- 3% Helicopters feel safer

---|---|
jimi... | Helicopters don’t require runways and are able to “autorotate” in the event of a power failure. No light aircraft survives when major components disintegrate while inflight. The April 10, 2025 Hudson River tragedy was an anomaly, most likely caused by someone’s non or malfeasance. |
mary... | Without fixed wings, they fall like a stone |
akyg... | Helicopters have no wings. Need wings to fly 🫣 |
ivan... | Statistics show light turbine helicopters are very safe |
cgsl... | Why did you use the word "Feel" .. there is data to support that helicopters are less safe than fixed wing aircraft. |
ebr.... | I'm still waiting to ride in a helicopter, but yeah, just from looking at them, they're less safe than airplanes. |
mdul... | It's not a feeling; it's simple data. The accident rate for helicopters is 9-10 accidents per 100,000 flight hours whereas commercial airline's accident rate is less than 1 accident per 100,000 hours and in most years is around 0.1 accidents per 100,000 hours. |
rsbo... | Airplanes can glide |
rgar... | Air travel is mostly safer than any other type of travel. I have a friend who has crash landed and survived 3 times. I flew with him not long before the thrird and worrst crash. He went through his preflight checks 3 times, when I asked he said that being that meticulus is the only way to fly safely. All three crashes he was picking up and delivering planes that had unkown mechanical issues. A lot of private and small companies ignor maintenance. He retired from picking up and delivering planes after the third almost killed him. He still flies his own plane. He says know what you fly in and who you fly with to be safe. |
lisa... | I will not ride in single propeller aircraft. Single point of failure. |
bria... | Helicopters are scary and don't follow the laws of physics. |
cand... | When you hear about these stories it makes one feel less safe but I would want to read the statistics before making any judgment |
yajs... | Planes can glide 1 mile for every 1000 feet of altitude giving a better c chance of landing to minimize injuries. |
ylwo... | When weather is rainy, windy and unstable heli should not be allowed to fly. Heli is less of a strong built than airplane |
scho... | Rotary winged aircraft are inherently mor risky than fixed wing aircraft, Thye depend on engiine power to stay safelt aloft. |
dimj... | I have never been on a helicopter and I plan never to be on one. I saw a crash when I lived in Philadelphia. I know someone who was killed in a helicopter crash. |
juli... | should not be allowed in NYC airspace. |
jami... | No way Jose. Not getting in one |
case... | In 1976 as I was riding up the FDR Drive, I saw a helicopter turn upside down and fall into the East River. |
serb... | More moving parts, so more opportunity for something to go wrong, and no ability to glide. |
pric... | In the air and when flying they are more vulnerable to any change in their “balance”. |
chri... | Helicopters are inherently less safe than fixed wing aircraft. That being said, the risk is outweighed by the benefits offered. |
jimb... | U asked the wrong question: helicopters are safe but recreational services less likely to be maintained and serviced to a high standard as compared to commercial aircraft. |
maar... | Interesting result given that helicopters can land without their engine working via autorotation. |
erin... | They should not be allowed to fly low over neighborhoods like they have been doing for years. Jersey city is inundated with illegally low flying helicopters. If this crashed over a neighborhood the tragedy would have been even worse. These companies must be fined for continually breaking the law and flying so low over densely populated areas. |
susa... | I hear of far too many people dying in helicopter crashes. |
kh5d... | Helicopters objectively are less safe |
cook... | I knew a man who worked for Eurocopter in Germany. I once asked him why these machines crashed so often. He told me they were very complicated and when dirt and dust got into it, challenges often occurred. |
chri... | Tourist helicopters crash often. I don’t think they are well maintained as military or police copters. I would never take one! |
Is the U.S. still a reliable safe haven for global investors — or has fiscal instability made it too risky?
- 56% Too risky now
- 40% Still a safe haven
- 4% Other

zaac... | What’s the alternative? Overpriced gold? |
cica... | Donald Trump and the Republican Party are not making America. Great they’re doing just the opposite. They are destroying our standing in the world and with it, our wealth, our prosperity, and ultimately our freedom. It may be too late. |
ayo.... | Depends on how the political situation pans out |
bret... | The US cannot be trusted to honor contracts and negotiate in good faith. The US is likely entering a time where population flows begin reversing. Those with financial resources may opt to leave as will those with dual citizenship. |
jllm... | Risky now, not forever |
jrv1... | There is some risk in everything. US TZ still remain the safe test asset class for stability |
kpul... | The US can long be trusted to by an ally of any country. People will not want to invest in the US market. The US will become unstable. |
sasb... | As a country, the USA was like “prime stock”. Demand to live, visit and invest was high. That is no longer the case with the roller coaster policies of the current govt. The same way that Tesla is under siege due to dislike for EM. The US will experience similar disapproval. The markets will reflect it. |
cb10... | All because of f-ing trump and his ego. |
to55... | Trump has made the US an unstable Nation and our Bonds have been downgrade because of his policies and lunatic antics and threats |
andr... | At the end of the day, the dollar is still the global reserve currency. I would recommend "Dollar Milkshake Theory" to understand this better. |
ebr.... | Under lunatic Trump, we've shown we're not trustworthy partners. |
chri... | It really depends on your time frame. Short term, there will be instability, medium term things will be better. The EU can't get out of their old habits quickly and China isn't a suitable system with which to place reserve holdings at scale. |
zack... | Would love to hear the list of “safe havens” from the 54% |
yajs... | All depends on whether congress moves to curb Trump's power and inject some sanity back into the markets! |
Do you think consultants are overused in U.S. defense spending — or necessary to fill skill gaps?
- 75% Overused
- 25% Necessary
Comments | |
---|---|
ebr.... | A consultant knows the ins and outs of how the government works, making their jobs imperative. |
atli... | Eliminating all consultants from DoD and decreasing the overall DoD budget would make the world a safer place and assure a cleaner environment. |
rgar... | Its fairly obviouse that there is too much waste and abuse of our taxes. |
ljar... | Expect most people have no idea what consultants are used; need to cut with discernment not wholesale just for bragging rights. |
dana... | Overused and a security risk. |
arth... | All government overuses consultants. Consulting firm contracts are over the roof on charges. The administration is on the right track looking into these. Many are awarded to companies who pad powerful congressional members and bureaucrats pockets. The problem will be trying to shine a light into the depths of these ripoffs |
jllm... | If the personnel in government could do what consultants do they would be in the private sector. |
andr... | I'm sure some are necessary, but it's always good to clean house. |
popu... | Respondents may be underestimating the amount of brain drain the government has seen for decades and the lack of performance incentives that exist for Federal employees to innovate/operate. |
cica... | Nobody outside the Pentagon and the government really know. But nobody trust this crop of losers to figure it out. Except all the other losers. |
k_da... | Regular DoD workers do not have the specialized IT knowledge to manage their systems. As a former DoD contractor, there is no way that most can keep up with the technology and do their normal day to day jobs. This is another stupid move by the “leadership” to “save a few bucks” which will make us weaker and less efficient. |
chri... | if we are going to cut bloated spending anywhere, cutting pentagon tech consultants' contracts is a great place to start. Hegseth's unilateral and abrupt approach seems to forbade some future problems with actual defense though |
Have you ever placed a bet using an online gambling site (legal or illegal)?
- 87% No
- 13% Yes
Comments | |
---|---|
ebr.... | Gambling is not my cup of tea. |
mark... | Gambling, whether legal or illegal, is a serious problem in our country. For those who cannot resist the temptation, gambling is a serious epedimic and possibly more addictive than smoking, alchohol, and hard drugs. The advertising is pervasive and featured like it is part of being a sports fan whether you like football, tennis, or tiddlywinks. |
atli... | Sounds like a mental health issue needing more education to resolve and, in the meantime, regulatory restrictions to redirect traffic to legal use. |
jllm... | Wow big untapped market |
Do you think combo therapies like this are over-medicalizing care — or optimizing outcomes based on current evidence?
- 77% Optimizing outcomes
- 23% Over-medicalizing

darl... | Control with the type of food you put in your body, get rid of process food |
corr... | You always want the best outcome with any treatment or medication therapy. |
anne... | I’m in remission now for bladder cancer. I was given a combination of chemotherapy and immunotherapy. It worked for me. |
caro... | As I am currently taking this combination, and have seen my cholesterol numbers come down, I feel like it has helped me personally. Others should definitely consider this if their doctors agree. |
jllm... | Can’t help feeling other maladies are surfacing with the combinations of drugs |
robs... | Meanwhile, overwhelming misinformation on social media continues to rage against Medical Doctor prescribed statins for lowering LDL. |
leed... | Preventing or significantly delaying death is the key measure! 💀 |
Is a 0.18% increase in depression risk significant enough to change medical guidelines for postpartum contraceptive use?
- 67% No
- 33% Yes
Comments | |
---|---|
atco... | Increased risk of another pregnancy at this time, especially for those who experienced a high risk pregnancy with the previous pregnancy/delivery may outweigh the decreased benefits that the results of one study shows. If this result shows a trend in decreasing postpartum depression then maybe the answer is to breastfeed for at least 6 months to create a more natural shift of hormone values. One wonders how many of the subjects were breastfeeding mothers in this study? |
hada... | There is not much research regarding the pill in general causing depression let alone postpartum depression. |
jllm... | You never want to know someone who gets postpartum depression it changes yours and theirl life forever |
ebr.... | Women need more care, period. |
sbol... | That increase in risk is minimal especially without factoring increased risk for short interval pregnancy without contraception. Also I would like to see if breastfeeding was looked at. Breastfeeding mothers are not in COC, they are typically on progestin only contraception for a year. I would like to see if breastfeeding was accounted for |
