Just facts, you think for yourself

Is this partial ceasefire a genuine move toward long-term negotiations or merely a stalling tactic?

  • 75% Just a tactic to delay further conflict
  • 20% Genuine step toward peace
  • 5% Other

smcc...I'm skeptical.
kpri...Vladimir Putin has no intention to stop his war of aggression. Peace is not his goal. Accumulating land and resources is his goal.
tkl7...Putin will not honor any ceasefire. The meeting should have included all of the US allies in Western Europe. Not enough pressure on Putin. Western Europe feels threatened by the invasion.
erwi...In my opinion, it is both but only time will tell whether the Russian people had enough of Putin and want this senseless war to be over. It is not just the Ukrainian people that are affected but Russians against Putin and the war, neighboring countries like Poland, Belarus, and others. Also keep in mind a US war against Russia could lead to the end of the world. So rather then be negative about the negotiations regardless of US and EU administration, try to be conscious that we need to find a path to peace. Unfortunately, Russia is a world nuclear weapon power. They have always been a world threat since world war 2.
pros...Putin is not negotiable. All negotiations lead only towards further aggression from the Russians.
acin...Putin has always used a cease fire a s a means to regroup and attack again.
zack...What’s disturbing is if Trump is able to broker a peace deal he will still be lambasted by Dems/MSM as Putin puppet. The normal American has zero understanding of foreign policy. They have been brainwashed into a simplistic “good vs evil” view, which simply doesn’t exist in actual reality. BTW It’s hard to find a country more evil country than our own over the last few decades of war/intervention!
meli...I hope for this
jton...Nobody believes a word out of Trump or Putin. What the hell does Putin have on Trump that makes Trump give him everything he wants?
jlh1...Putin appears to be partially agreeing, and playing Trump for what is good for himself and Russia, not peace.
wlmc...By agreeing to a largely meaningless cession of attacks on energy infrastructure, Putin claims the PR high ground of peacemaker without conceding anything. Naive and clumsy negotiating by the US.
cica...This is a tactic for Putin to buy time. The Russian economy on the ropes as is Putin politically. Interest rates at 25% over there. Inflation through the roof. 700,000 Russians killed wounded or missing. He’s stalling for time, but while he waits for Trump to give the whole game away. The longer the conflict goes on the worse it is for Putin.
cb10...What a joke. The Ukraine needs to be at the table with Russia and the US.
pman...Putin - will get what he wants- if I were him I would take more of Ukraine- push into the other softer countries and make Trump swallow it and look like a fool
vict...Putin is not trustworthy and does not want to concede in anyway.
simo...This is a joke! The one good thing the Ukrainians had is success with hitting Russian oil supplies. And now the Russian will gain strength while the fighting continues.
serg...Russia can not be trusted
geor...Putin obviously has something on Trump, so I must always question anything that happens around the two dictators!
hard...It is Putin and Trump planning an end to Ukraine and how to divide up Ukraines assets between Trump and Putin If Russia wanted peace they never would have attacked.
jmbe...This question is already a moot point. Putin violated the partial ceasefire within a few hours. So much for the "good relationship" Trump has with this lying dictator; i.e., his role model.
amy....I certainly do not condone Putin or his starting a war but it’s amazing to me the ignorance of people (I know the media doesn’t help) but why can people not see how corrupt and evil Zelenskyy is? NATO hasn’t helped either, there were terms set and agreed upon years ago and Ukraine has provoked Putin/Russia… The equivalent of Mexico or Canada putting Chinese troops on their borders with us! Thank God for a president who is going to try to stop this senseless war and sending billions of dollars of aid to a corrupt man…this money should be used in the USA for needs here!
tubi...putin already reneged before anything was done. pomp and stance only.
mfle...it seems to be merely a tactic to portray him as open to a peaceful resolution and then he expects in return the end of military support for Ukraine.
jonh...Trump pines for a Nobel Peace Prize but Putin is playing Trump like a fiddle.
trag...I don’t trust Putin or his puppet. They are angling for something other than peace especially when a condition of the halt is to prevent Ukraine from getting military equipment and support and for Russia to acquire Ukrainian land
fcse...There will be no peace unless Russia is defeated. Putin is obsessed about the old Russian Empire that included Ukraine and Poland.
brod...Just a tactic to gain time for Russia to regroup.
rgar...Putin cant be trusted
ebr....Never trust Putin, a kgb agent.
mbul...Putin has trump under his thumb. There’s no real negotiation happening, because trump and his merry band of useful idiots have no idea what they’re doing.
kold...Trump and Putin. Fascist America and fascist Russia. Unbelievable.
hotc...Sheesh people! Trump is literally trying to stop the war that you all castrated yourselves over! A simple THANK YOU MR PRESIDENT would suffice!
jrv1...Russia plays long game. Time is running out for Ukraine as they will become weaker
nanc...President Trump said there was no mention of stopping aid to Ukraine in his talk with Putin.
jenr...Never trust Putin
kibb...Putin will never stop fighting until he’s dead
jllm...If most of us can see right through this why can;t Trump. Hmmm
flem...Trump and Putin are basically asking Ukraine to concede, negating the lives lost and the sacrifices made by Ukranians. Russia needs to be held accountable to the horrific damage they have inflicted on Ukraine, but of course the Trump administration won't do that.
vinc...Tactic for poutine to delay peace and continue was against Ukraine

Does Boeing’s failure to deliver a reliable spacecraft undermine trust in private-sector space travel?

  • 54% Yes, consistent delays and issues prove they are not ready
  • 46% No, setbacks are normal in space exploration

EmailComments
ebr....SpaceX should be grounded indefinitely.
mbul...The private sector is profit-oriented, with financial outlooks based on quarterly returns. Somehow that doesn’t seem to be conducive to enterprises that are more likely to be measured in decade multiples.
zack...It’s important to know that Space X could have returned these astronauts months ago. But the Biden admin did not allow that to happen. Boeing is like our banks…they are too big for the gov to allow them to fail. Private companies will always out preform the government sector. Improvement, costs, and results only matter in the private industry.
jodu...Boeing needs to get its house in order before they aerospace again.
cica...Boeing undermines my faith in Boeing. They were a one great company that has now humiliated itself repeatedly over the last 15 years. They’ve also killed a few people in the process.
d.co...The astronauts were rescued by another private-sector space craft! This undermines trust in Boeing now the industry as a whole.
meli...Boeing reputation continues to suffer
dajo...Musk delivered
sj11...Look what the competitor did during the same period of time.
andr...Undermines trust in Boeing, not the commercial sector (SpaceX)
gibl...Not private sector, just Boeing. It was private sector who brought the astronauts back. That question was an “ are you still beating your wife?” question.
tmj6...Boeing has company specific issues beyond normal setbacks
erwi...I am an engineer and knowing risks factors are always key to success. Delays due to potential issues over failure in space is common and should never be rushed due to public and political pressures. They only have 1 time to get it right or fail with a life and death situation.
rrbe...The Boeing space capsule returned safely ... just without the astronauts.
serg...Boeing needs to focus on airplanes. Let Space X focus on rockets.
150m...Boeing is a failed corporation with failed leadership and woke policies that have rotted it from the inside out.
miss...Anyone who believes that space travel can be accomplished without delays and issues want safety and security without risk. They criticize but are unwilling to do anything themselves. They know nothing about the subject and their opinions should be given a commensurate level of consideration.
rgar...Boeing cant get airplanes right. Space craft are a little more complex. Their NASA contrct is a government handout
arth...It seems to me that private is like Jack be nimble, Jack be quick, versus slow and ponderous. The government penchant for excessive redundancy is causing problems not encountered by the private side. So far, Space X continues to deliver while NASA is struggling.
ksdb...Doesn’t undermine trust in Private-sector space travel…just Boeing.
jllm...The word here is consistent, when is enough, going to be ENOUGH.

How do you feel about the future of Nvidia's stock?

  • 59% Optimistic, it will keep growing
  • 24% Neutral
  • 17% Pessimistic, it's overhyped

EmailComments
jodu...Of course its overhyped, but they will settle down to a different market share which is smaller but more advanced AI.
jwdt...This is still early stage
jewe...The Nvidia team is in front by a lap. Only Trump's uninformed actions and those of his sycophants can hurt it.
jllm...Spoken like a true investor, was it yesterday’s question about emotions and intelligence

Do you believe manufacturing should be a bigger part of the US economy?

  • 73% Yes, the US should focus on bringing back jobs
  • 27% No, high-tech and services are the future

EmailComments
andr...These two answers are not mutually exclusive! LOL
serg...Manufacturing should not be done overseas and brought in with no penalties
zack...Make the middle class great again!!!
mdul...People say that they want to bring manufacturing jobs back to the US but they don't want to pay incrementally more to pay the higher wages required in the US. Economics always wins over policy preferences and people who can't afford to just buy whatever model strikes their fancy will choose those vehicles that meet their needs for the least amount of money. NAFTA, later renegotiated to USMCA, made this a practical reality for many vehicles. Trump imposing tariffs against his own accord would nullify that benefit without reducing costs.
amy....Yes bring the jobs back here and maybe things will last longer again. Chinese made garbage that needs to be replaced every 3-5 years…this nonsense needs to end for many reasons! Make a quality product here in the US, offer fair wages, and let’s stop filling our landfills with poorly made junk.
gibl...Thank God that we now have a president who is working on this.
meli...Both are necessary
cica...The US needs to do both. But our days as a manufacturing, Giant are over. We do need to manufacture more stuff here as a matter of security.
rick...Manufacturing jobs will become fewer and fewer as ai and robotics impact the industry. Even China, a manufacturing powerhouse is seeing manufacturing become a smaller percentage of their economy.
jedr...To make the economy grow substantially, manufacturing must lead the way.
jllm...Always, the problem now and forever will be only the rich can afford quality, the rest of us Chinese knock offs

What’s the biggest barrier to better heart disease treatments?

  • 49% Too much focus on drugs, not prevention
  • 23% High cost of medications
  • 15% Slow approval of new treatments
  • 13% Lack of awareness about heart health

EmailComments
ebr....Each body is different so each reaction to exercise and healthy foods is different. Plus, nobody can change the genetics they’re born with. Gotta work w what you’ve got.
jllm...Actually it’s all of the above, when your up in age and all your prevention is done, and every doctor you have not just the cardiologist, and Dr Google, explains exactly was going on with your heart, you pray for new treatments and medications. Old age is a bitch, and if discovery now works, how many people will it help later.
doct...I think that prevention is key but there is also a barrier to treatment with exorbitant prices for some medications.
jlh1...My second choice would be the economics of new drug development
reza...All of the above - US healthcare is demonstrably broken
patr...All of the above
serg...Heart issues start with eating and other bad behavior that is built into the fabric of food products and consumption. No one can jog the heart back to good health. Drugs are already cheap. So, improving and advanced treatments are the answer.
mjhe...Palliative care far exceeds preventive care, perhaps because Big Pharma and insurance companies benefit greatly by selling drugs.
gibl...This is why FRK is in his role now.
rgto...The only answer of the 4 listed is slow approval of new treatments, the other 3 are about prevention, or price of drugs that are approved.
tubi...health care and eating healthy are both too expensive for most of the country without assistance. if dummy wants to do something helpful, he should take the medical industry to task for receiving grants, tax breaks etc. then still charging the US citizens ridiculous fees.
emil...Yes! The heart is a muscle, and just like all the other muscles, if you don't use it, you lose it! Exercise can keep people from going into heart failure, so start at a young age!
andr...There are many many issues here. One of the big issues is the centralized nature of medicine, while well intended naturally leads to slow level of innovation, high cost, high barriers to new approaches, etc. etc. Decentralized medicine and wellness is the key to a healthy future. Right now, only multi-billion dollar corporations can afford the sort of tests that endorse the gold standard of evaluation / clinical trials.
amyl...it is the most common cause of death and is preventable
jton...Drug prices are too high for many people so they don’t get important treatments.

Do you believe the universe had a definite beginning, like the Big Bang?

  • 55% Yes, the Big Bang theory is well-supported
  • 45% No, the universe may be eternal or cyclic

EmailComments
jrv1...The only Big Bang was God created the Heaven and Earth
ebr....The Big Bang is still theory? Oh come on. That sounds like climate change denial.
vict...Science is based on research that has been peer reviewed and facts.
tmj6...Who knows?
serg...Even if big bang theory is factual, the event is probably cyclic
amy....So much easier to believe in God, He has always existed and always will.
kibb...What a fascinating and thought provoking question. I was really torn between the two possibilities offered.
andr...Next time can you please have an option for "I have no idea and neither does anyone else." LOL
mich...However creation may be cyclical as well.
jscu...It is all part of the indisputable Intelligent Design of the universe.
jllm...I always love this question, I’m pretty sure God didn’t do it in seven days, but looking back that far in the past, and seeing a continuation of an expanding universe, a lot of unanswered questions
mike...This unanswerable question is exactly where atheism gets sucked into a black hole.
miss...Both possible responses can be correct. We have no way of knowing if this is the first “big bang” or the tenth. If the general theory is that there is a big bang from a singularity which expands until it begins to contract back into singularity, it seems that multiple big bangs are possible with a complete erasure of the prior universe.
brod...Research and exploration seem to support a beginning such as the Big Bang.
vand...God created the universe and that is proven over and over again. How He did it is a mystery and may never be known until He reveals it to us.
