dave... | Drug use needs to stop on a person by person basis. If demand drys up so will the drug. |
harr... | Triggering a global trade war will have the effect of totally isolating USA as an economic island. I know that this is what he wants but I don't know if the American people truly realize the implications. I speaker as someone who is based in USA and runs a Canadian company which manufactures goods in China. We might have to consider whether USA is still a viable market for us to sell into.... |
fcse... | Drug trafficking is a U.S. problem. Drugs wouldn’t be crossing the borders if there wasn’t a demand for them. Why should Americans suffer economically because we have citizens who get hooked? |
trdy... | I could have voted for both as being a major concern, but right now the extra cost from tariffs will make it more difficult to keep up with maintaining a household. Also I sounds like the Mexican and Canadian governments are working on the drug issue at the north and south borders, but a major manufacturer of fentanyl is China, so why are they not getting hit with higher tariffs. Trump has not mentioned anything about the east and west shipping ports, as I’m sure there is a high amount of drugs working trough those ports of entry. |
ljaj... | We have lost too many lives due to drug trafficking. I believe the economy will improve as Trump’s economic policies are in place. |
dfra... | This plan is nuts at the expense of our national economy and relationships with our neighboring countries. |
juli... | We have officials to aid in DT. We have no one to protect us from economics. |
kpnj... | If Americans weren’t addicted to drugs they would not want to smuggle it here. It’s a demand problem |
wait... | The enhancements at the northern border had already been planned and budgeted for, largely to address the flow of illegal guns and drugs INTO Canada. It’s almost as though he’s trying to build walls to keep his own people in, a la east Germany…. |
cmfc... | I don't believe Trump's plan will decrease the flow of drugs, and will instead cause prices on everyday items to continue to rise |
cour... | These tariffs are going to push the economy into a recession |
jrv1... | I support free markets and not a fan of the tariffs... |
wrwa... | Drugs of all types are destroying the moral fiber of our country. It’s not just the individual user. It’s the spider web effect of everyone and everything the user is associated with. |
mdul... | First, economics seems to always beat policy aspirations and that is likely the case here as well. Additionally, the point about fentanyl entering the country from these top three trading partners is a specious argument. The US has the highest rate of drug overdoses in the world and is almost double the next highest on the list (excluding Puerto Rico) highlighting that there is a demand problem. Supply will always find demand so tackling demand should be paramount to any effort to reduce drug related deaths. One final point is to consider the farcical hammer approach Trump has undertaken - fentanyl seized coming across the Mexican border last year totaled over 21,000 pounds whereas coming across the Canadian border that total was 43 pounds (and 10 pounds seized going the other way). |
dajo... | The tariffs are driving action by our partners to secure their side of the border and getting fair trade deals and I'm hopeful that we lift the tariffs soon |
laur... | Drugs are killing our people. |
jack... | Duh. We’re doomed |
dmic... | I don’t believe the drug trafficking narrative. I don’t think treating our neighboring countries badly is a good idea |
mspe... | Tariffs only hurt consumers |
eliz... | I do not think they are accurate when claiming that this is the way the drugs are circulating in the U.S. In addition, these tariffs will create problems that cannot be ameliorated and are unlikely to meaningfully impact addiction or recovery rates. We could instead focus on creating compassionate and comprehensive recovery options for people. |
to55... | its the economy stupid ! |
jgse... | I do not know anyone affected by fentanyl, but we are all impacted by economic policy. |
walk... | The costs caused by these drugs are not cheap and cannot be ignored. The foreign governments will absorb the tariffs to keep their products competitive |
macn... | Both!!!! |
tmj6... | Drug trafficking ears away at society. However, I doubt that the proposed tariffs will solve the problem |
k.a.... | Tariffs on Canada and Mexico our major trading partners don’t make sense to me. |
sgbo... | This country is already in trouble with the high cost of living and now we get to pay 20 to 25% more on goods Thanks Idiot Trump |
edmu... | It is foolhardy to raise tariffs on our traditional trading partners Canada and Mexico plus the European Union. US. Citizens end up paying more for thousands of goods used in everyday life. |
moji... | Economic policy has a much greater impact on all of the US. If regular citizens could have a viable opportunities to live and work healthily they wouldn't need to turn to illicit drugs thereby solving for part of the drug problem [reducing the demand and shrinking the TAM] |
lloy... | We are/were doing fine, no need for anymore tarriffs...bad for our relationship with our neigboring countries and China. Will very much hurt the U.S. consumer, as well. |
cica... | Tariffs are a stupid solution to the drug trafficking Problem. Of course, Trump’s pretty stupid |
blup... | Trump's next failed business: The U.S. Economy |
mich... | The Trump economic attack on its neighbors is a bullying tactic that is unprecedented and shameful. It has nothing to do with drugs, an excuse Trump is using to destroy relations with its neighbors and to completely ruin the reputation of the U.S. on the world stage. It is incomprehensible and reprehensible. American citizens will suffer in both the short and long term from these reckless actions. I hope the citizens of this great country will wake up to what the president is doing and take appropriate action. |
priv... | Tarriffs didn't affect us last time, why would they this time. Its all bs. The problem's are high food prices and people need jobs. Its not how much the crap that we don't need costs. |

rene... | Dry fearful that a basically healthy economy is going to fall apart due to trumps actionsp |
sjke... | Laying off people in fed gov |
arth... | Hopeful, cautiously optimistic. |
ljta... | Sadly, new administration programs are inconsistent with the campaign promises. Frankly, it’s not a surprise. |
rola... | Thank Donald Trump and MAGA. |
juli... | I feel like everything will blow up. The things being implemented will only hurt the American people. |
cica... | Oh yes, it’s definitely getting worse. We have a government by, of and for the corporation now. They’ve already started raising prices in anticipation of the coming tariffs.. the Tech Bros are now all forcing their WFH employees back to the office because, hey, a monkey see monkey do right? |
hele... | I’m sure it’s great for trump and his billionaires but not the rest of us |
jeff... | Can’t find a job |
fcse... | American economy was better during Biden’s administration. |
ttim... | Nothing is moving in a.Real estate down, but rates down as well. Tech stocks on plunge, food prices at same level. |
mman... | the Trump administration seems to be interested in tanking our economy! |
mdul... | It's already getting worse and we haven't even yet seen the effects to come from Trump's tariffs and his mass firings. Lots more pain to come. |
zack... | Trump will improve our economy. But it will take time to fixed the damage that the “Biden” admin caused. I do not trust any job numbers under the previous admin too. They only thing the previous admin did well was gas light Americans |
caro... | Stock market is dropping rapidly; produce hard to find in good quality; fear with what’s to come |
bcar... | Tariffs will hurt us - it will mainly harm consumers |
jrv1... | bad weather impacted winter consumer sales |
dsny... | Tariffs going to increase cost, additional spending by Trump on not need (ego boosting items will drive cost up. Inflation while the economy is slowing will require interest rate to increase. Layoffs and higher price will cause the consumer to spend less…. Recession and inflation = stagnation |
jerr... | Trump’s impact is highly negative. |
lygo... | Need to give the benefits of DOGE more time |
rmby... | Our economy was stable before Trump. It navigated a possible recession. Interest rates were moving in the right direction. Unemployment numbers were down. We needed to start investigating companies that were raising prices just for mega profits. Now we are headed for the makings of a depression with a President protecting billionaires. It is clear with cutting programs like negotiating contracts for medicine i.e. insulin for Medicare & Medicaid programs. If anyone thinks cutting all the government agencies was about reducing cost, just look at what is being with the budget. Add 4 trillion plus in tax cuts and adding 4.5 trillion in debt. We are headed for a horrible spiral for our economy and our country. However, billionaires will win in the end. |
gmac... | Won’t get better until 2026 election |
dajo... | Its really hard to tell yet and cant be judged by the price of eggs that has a certain cause. I'm hopeful that new policies can improve inflation and the deficit but lets see. Maybe less free stuff is driving people back to work too. |

juli... | I don't support Elon musk |
gabe... | Entire immediate family uses it daily. Wife said it created a multi week tutoring curriculum to study for the TOEFL exam. ChatGPT 4.5 is just starting to be able to correctly read EKG’s. It will chat in Japanese and multiple dialects of Japanese (Miyazaki-Ben; Kumamoto-Ben). |
moji... | I litterally don't have time to learn how to use co-pilot at work even though i can identify many things it could be useful for |
vick... | I use it for images based on my ideas as a floral designer |
eliz... | I do not want more AI |
brod... | Cannot get excited about AI, although we are all evidently supposed to be. |
john... | I no longer have to search various websites to get a comprehensive answer. It also points me to the website/s it used, confirming the source of the information for any bias. |
Does learning about Earth's natural ice age cycles make you less worried about climate change?
- 55% No, human impact is still a major concern
- 38% Yes, nature has its own cycles
- 6% I am not sure

wlof... | I would be interested to know what rates look like pre industrial age and post. Since we’ve only been industrialized for 100 years ish, how has this past 100 years affected all the data points? |
co.m... | First hand, this is not new information, but has been know for decades. Scientist know you can tweak models to say whatever you want them to say to get research dollars. Listen to the ones who are reasonable and not the ones shouting that the sky is falling. Although, they are hard to hear for all of the screaming. |
donr... | A lot can happen in 11,000 years. I’m concerned if humanity will survive the next 100. |
dajo... | Anyone that thinks that curbing the carbon footprint can avoid an ice age is an idiot. |
mich... | Global warning is now political and Americans have become science deniers. Americans also elected an idiot who doesn’t understand science. I am not sure what should worry me right now. |
joen... | I do not believe that climate change is affected by man at all. |
cica... | Learning anything more than we already know about the only planet we can live on is invaluable. Nobody’s gonna ever live on Mars. We’re never going to colonize the moon. This is our home. And when if we allow it to become uninhabitable, we’re done. |
cbri... | The fact that they say human carbon will delay an ice age ten of hundreds of years is so arrogant. |
moji... | I mean nature obviously has cycles but we're are definitely impacting the typical cycle is what I learned from the information provided |
clem... | Yes, and the assumption that man is influencing timelines on the scale claimed makes no sense. Continuing to cling to the narrative makes no sense and in the end it most likely doesn't matter one bit. |
ebr.... | I have a hard time trusting anything anymore since Trump has granted Elon so much power to obliterate years and decades of research. Now, it's all in favor of not-science; everything seems awash in wishful thinking instead of proven facts. |
bhad... | The earth does have natural cycles but they may not accommodate the survival of the human mammal. The environment may change faster than human evolution can adapt. Fungus, bacteria, and viruses can adapt much faster and humans don't know what those consequences will be but most likely death to us! |
juli... | The proof is in the melting ice caps and returning dormant disease. |
dbri... | And the current group of idiots running the government are doing nothing except cancelling good programs around this problem. |
robs... | This says the carbon footprint and human impact causing global warming, vehemently opposed by Climate Change political activists, is actually postponing the next ice age by tens of thousands of years, and as a result, the next ice age is now not expected for another 11,000 years. So why will this breakthrough insight never be heard again after today, and why will Climate Change activists continue unknowingly petition with great urgency for the need for humans to cause the ice age to occur far sooner than in 11,000 years? |
bcar... | Just look at the data. Sure the planet has its own cycles but this is WAY outside of normal change. Pollution of any sort harms life. |
troy... | Pollution is the worst and yet less of a concern than CO2 emissions (cow burps and fossil fuels). |
Would you be comfortable with robots that can independently assemble into larger structures?

perm... | As always, anything useful can be used unwisely and abused. |
bcar... | Just keep it under control |
juli... | Every single cinematic creation based around the things they are creating and implementing currently have bad endings. There will be no Will Smith characters in the end of the world movie. This is not a conspiracy. A friend that does decide to use CHAT Gpt (his decision, not mine) has asked questions regarding AI life and how they become to exist. It will tell you, they told us to create them. Makes you really think. |
