Just facts, you think for yourself

mrse...trump's a schmuck
less...Trump is useless fool, a bully with a childlike mentality
arth...Hong Kong is Chinese.
walk...Classic stand off. High prices vs No goods
luft...Common sense. As long as trump is around, you can expect more of these ridiculous moves.
brod...What else could it be signaling?
jrv1...Both sides pay the price.
pman...Trump and the republicans are screwed- this is a game of trumps ego and China - He doesn’t care about the USA . He cares only about what he potential gains. POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTE - POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY - we are all doomed with him and his minions and the head
tere...Will the ‘trade-war’ become a military war? Do we have a madman at the helm?
serg...China needs to export to the US. This escalation only hurts Chinese producers.
jllm...The only losers so far are you and me
jmbe...Trump and his wacky advisers are completely to blame for the mess we are in.
cand...I believe these are all "power plays" and it will end with everything pretty much back to normal. But, as things escalate it could get out of hand
davi...It signals more than trade retaliation, it's a Putin-like signal for geographic dominance
usct...These tariff’s are a no win situation for both nations. But Trump views trade as bad and compromise as a weakness. His actions are mindless.
ebr....Yes, and the US deserves it since the majority voted for Trump. Not me. I voted for Kamala, the sane lady with great ideas and plans for progress! Now we are stuck with this idiot at the reins.
dian...This is childish, and someone needs to interfere with one man’s manipulation of the world economy. This is expensive for everyone, including Americans, and the administration’s lack of understanding how this is so is very dangerous. Any respectable Economist can explain why this is a very dangerous policy.
rcod...You have to do something about China
kenj...All of this is a power play that we let escalate over the past 30 years. Dealing with Chinese firms for the over 25 plus years this is exactly what they wanted! Bad policy lead to them dominating in manufacturing and Americans not wanting to do this type of work has killed out manufacturing base. Also, the Chinese Government owns the steel/iron industries and controls all financial transactions and does manipulate their Yuan to control the integrity of their money. This issue has been waiting to be handled and if it’s not done now we will see much more dire times in the very near future.
atli...The Chinese would prefer a sane business partner, but in view of Trump's instability and dishonesty they are left with no other choice but to seek that market elsewhere.
mdul...In addition to the export restrictions on rare earth minerals, beef imports from the US have been stopped and replaced by Australian beef. That cessation also applies to poultry using tools like declining to renew export licenses for hundreds of meatpacking plants (focus on poultry). They've also halted import of US liquefied natural gas (LNG). Deciding to no longer even ship to the US is yet another escalation on Trump's trade war and he has no response other than to threaten to raise tariffs even more, when they are already past the point of making any difference.
john...Trump has no idea what he’s doing

Would you accept higher stock market volatility if it meant slowing Chinese supercomputing progress?

jare...China will quickly develop their own chip manufacturing to support their needs. Adding regulations around business is typically something Republicans despise, so it’s odd to me that they are doing something so significant with so little impact.
atli...The US is blowing a huge opportunity to advance worldwide technological progress by not partnering with China.
ebr....No. I don't need to stomp others down to be the best at something. An equal playing field ultimately produces better results.
wake...I guess the 'Nos' won't mind living under CCP rule
tere...Slowing China’s development is a lousy strategy. Increase US development by funding research.
1lig...If we continue they will just create their own chips, better than ours, instead of buying ours.
wait...We are part of a global economy, to self isolate from that is idiotic and near sighted.
bbat...This types of restrictions may impede, but will not prevent, China achieving mastery of competitive AI.
jllm...Certainly is the name of the game, not speed

pjsm...I check my portfolio several times each day.
jllm...There looking good
atli...The earnings of corporate criminals are not the best measure of human progress.

Would you use a social network primarily driven by AI-generated content?

mdul...I dropped X a short time after Musk bought it and began his focus on spreading hate and antisemitism. I think FB is largely uninteresting for most people. IG's videos show there is room for largely graphical content (like TikTok) and BlueSky shows there is an appetite for content not seeking to divide the nation even further. I would likely try the new offering to see what it provides.
info...The use of AI imagery and video should be federally banned and treated as IP/ copyright theft because it is!!!
bern...Maybe it’s not based on the political system or has religious interests
cand...Is it really "social" network if it's all AI generated?
jllm...The less any network knows about me the better
ebr....I still do not understand people's infatuation with social media. It fucks with your brain and is not welcome in our household.
jame...I wonder if the joke is on us and this report is already AI-generated content!
lady...Generative AI is a blight upon the creative community and I want nothing to do with it. I am certain the dependency of using AI for creative tasks will exceedingly make people dull and uninspiring.
mary...Orwellian
jean...There's already a lot of AI generated content on existing social media.

Do you believe mapping a mouse brain can lead to meaningful insights into human conditions like Alzheimer’s or autism?

aran...First, leave the mice alone. Secondly, as regards the human brain, research on animal brains can only ever lead to extrapolations to the human.
kevi...Why this framing? Are a high percentage of your "readers" scientists and physicians? Do enough people know about brain functions and methods used to determine research? This is why our current media is dogwater.
jllm...I said yes but who knows , let’s find out.
ebr....How about helping those with brain injuries? This is a step in the right direction!

If proven safe, should immune-modulating therapies be used preventively in children at risk of allergies?

ebr....Sure!
jllm...Just because it’s safe now, what are the long term effects
aran...“Animal research is the art of making your extrapolations seem like marketable truths."
