rjt5... | Prices will continue rising ! |
cb10... | Every other country is going to find new trading partners for everything which will destroy our economy. Wake up people! |
lori... | Trade negotiations conducted the way we, the US, have conducted them since January — without principle or apparently much thought at all other than which side of the bed President Trump woke up on that morning — are a guaranteed recipe for disaster. Coupled with flagrant disregard for fiscal responsibility, as evidenced by the "Big Beautiful Bill," we are flirting with economic disaster. I am a lifelong Democrat for the record. I would be much more comfortable with reciprocal tariffs aimed at eliminating competing tariffs and government subsidies that have ruined our competitiveness internationally. We need to improve our balance of trade and restore America's industrial base, especially our military industrial complex that we have gutted out over the last half century, and create good, solid jobs in the process. It would help if I thought Trump had ever stayed awake through a class at Wharton. His advisors and negotiators should be more aggressive keeping him from getting us into trouble, but I recognize that tends to lead to a truncated career in the current White House. |
king... | The lunatics have been given the keys to the asylum. |
abel... | What Trump is doing is making America Horrible and not a country you want to live in Looking at options |
kfun... | The war has been over for years and we need to stop subsidizing the worlds protection and they need to realize it is not the USA’s job to get the worst deal on all trades and just be quiet about it. We may have pain now but our kids will be better off. It’s a painful transition but will be great for all in the end. |
chri... | Trump has done permanent damage to trust between allies. And he needs to stop harassing friendly nations. No administration would have the capacity or wherewithal to negotiate better deals with so many countries in a short time. Haste makes waste. He was stupid to unilaterally blow up the world order with no acceptable substitute |
csbr... | Taco Trump |
caff... | When one elects clowns, one must expect a circus- and in fact that is just what we got. America the Stupid deserves everything it gets. By electing an economically vacuous doltish adolescent, with "great business experience and skills" we will pay dearly. And deservedly. |
pedr... | US has fabricated with foreign steel for many years, even before manufacturing migrated to Asia. This has a deep effect on any farm related equipment that promotes progress for this country |
nick... | Our policies are utterly ridiculous and hurtful to our economy and our citizens. |
delr... | |
nanc... | I have no confidence in trump’s ability to negotiate. He will continue this terrible path just to save face. Very bullheaded and stupid! |
jrom... | As with all negotiations, leverage is an important element. We have a good amount of leverage here, and if our advisors are competent we will prevail and get the fair trade we seek. The problem that I see is that we are trying to get this done without some of the short term pain that would be inherent in the process. |
timb... | Bad business |
rgar... | Other countries need us more than we need them, they have to make deals. |
karl... | We need to work on compromise and communication rather than threats a dictating. Such huge lessons to be learned. |
mmon... | Self inflicted wounds |
smat... | People need to wake up! We are being used for years with US paying more. Time to even the playing field. |
kvas... | TACO has poisoned the well. Why would our foreign allies and partners trust us again? |
mike... | Glad to see a President who isn't an international patsy. |
tubi... | dumb donald has no plan. hes just hoping theyll buy his stupid nft. |
mrse... | Tariffs are an ill-conceived policy that will not end well for us or for the world |
buzz... | Threat is not a reasonable negotiation tactic |
duma... | This man who is our Otesident could care less about our Country. Everything he does is a money grab against allies and the poor. It shames me that this man represents the USA. |
nick... | It will take time to work out but it will result in a better trade situation for the US in the future. |
tony... | There is no plan. A complete disaster of an administration and dim witted leader. Embarrassing display of gross incompetence |
wche... | When the whole world knows your bluffing you will loose any negotiation. Trump bankrupted at least 5 companies, America could be next |
bret... | Foreign leaders would be wise to cut ties with the Trump administration. Form new trade relationships, divest of all US assets and pour that money into other markets. The US has benefited from foreign investment for decades. If Trump continues his trade tactics, that should come to an end. Why help a country that is intentionally trying to harm your country? |
bush... | THE WHOLE THING FEELS AS ERRATIC AS THE MAN ARBITRARILY MAKING THE CALLS |
barr... | This is Putin’s plan. Trump and other Republicans are compromised by him. Putin has won the Cold War without firing a shot. |
will... | Trump is an idiot. |
lewi... | Trade relations must be developed carefully over time, not instantly without planning. It, trade relations, is not our first rodeo! |
cwno... | Since we pay the tariffs our prices will increase and all things aluminum will suffer . Aluminum production requires huge amounts of electricity and we don’t have the capacity to make much of our own . |
abyc... | It seems Trump is just trying to piss off our long-time allies with all his off-and-on tariff antics. My feeling is that the US has now lost the respect it once had on the world stage. |
band... | So long as this dumba** remains in the white house there is no real chance of improvement |
suzh... | Economics principals prove repeatedly that tariffs don’t work….the consumer always pays. It negatively impacts day to day production. The US is not ready to mass produce anything….much less at a reasonable cost …..we don’t have manufacturing plants equipped with current technology,,,,, outdated facilities that have to be completely rebuilt…. Outdated technology and building out own chips is 3-5 years out….sadly some people think it’s going to happen overnight. Countries will support each other and the us will decline. Sadly a delusional policy. Think crazy king!’ |
leei... | Trump is a bully. Does not bode well. |
atli... | If Trump were serious about the economy he would eliminate all tariffs and all embargos on every country in the world in exchange for their doing the same. |
pjsm... | Trump is creating endless enemies and destroying the US economy. His damage will be felt for many years to come. |
bjta... | Trading partners have been ripping off the US for years. These tariffs are meant to bring them back to the table to negotiate fair deals for the US. |
geof... | These tariffs are based on Trump’s personal view of “making deals” and do not take into account the very different economies of other nations compared to the US. The tariffs are fundamentally a very bad idea. Fortunately, they will all be repealed in the next administration - we just have to deal with them while Trump is in office. Ugh! |
pfor... | TACO is sooo out of his league and his sycophants are even worse. And the rest of of us literates that didn't vote for the idiot have to live with his 'dart board' solutions...... |

kidk... | He is punishing the people, not countries! |
fran... | Uncertainty is the bain of a stumbling economy |
chri... | Intelligent leadership is required to deal with Putin and Xi. This is not what Trump Is. |
bjta... | Trump is doing what should have been done under previous administrations. The playing field needs to be leveled. We must take a hard line with China. Our national security is at stake. Otherwise it would be a complete surrender to the CCP. Wake up America!!! |
sesi... | Trump needs to make us energy and material independent! |
cmar... | Trump doesn't know how to negotiate. He only knows how to (attempt to) bully. |
bjzi... | It is causing retaliation and long term damage to respect for the US throughout the world. It will put pressure on small businesses and raise costs to those who can afford it least. It is cruelty at its worst. |
euge... | Between American politicians, bankers, big business each have been selling out America for the last thirty years to China. With trade deficits running now at a low time low, it seems President Trump knows what he's doing |
mike... | Too many countries have us on a trade leash. Glad to see a backbone in the White House for the 1st time since 1988. |
cb10... | Trump is creating emergency situations or faking them. And then tries to "fix" them by declaring an emergency. What is going on? Wake up people! |
nanc... | He’s a total idiot! |
csbr... | More Taco Trump |
tubi... | dumb donald has no plan. hes just hoping theyll buy his stupid nft. |
pcbr... | It’s inconsistent and chaotic approach will only result in negative consequences for the US economy |
blac... | L |
leei... | Disaster. |
lwsh... | he's a moron |
judi... | Trump only knows how to bully and he does not hold all the cards in this negotiation. |
bret... | We don't need more enemies. Trump is creating enemies everywhere he can. |
kvas... | TACO wanted to pick a fight. Well, he got one. All of this has been done for the sake of effectively creating a flat tax, which rich conservatives have wanted for years. Tariffs increase the cost of goods. The increase goes into the U.S. Treasury as the tariffs are collected. The increased revenue justifies lowering the income tax rates; so, the tariffs are effectively a substitute for taxes. The "taxes" so created are the same for people of all income levels; hence, a flat tax that has a dramatically larger impact on poor people than on rich people. Farmers will smile as they pay those increased prices thinking that TACO has reduced their income taxes, which have historically been massively subsidized by taxpayers anyway, when, in fact, their taxes are greater, because the taxpayers won't be subsidizing the effects of the tariffs. Congratulations farmers! |
In your opinion, has Wells Fargo truly changed its corporate culture since the scandals?
- 68% No, underlying issues still exist
- 32% Yes, significant improvements have been made
Comments | |

mike... | They were in bed with Obama, creating tax streams by forcing money, unanounced, from checking accounts to savings accounts... which causes petty interest rates to create taxable gain. Maybe only $100 of tax each year, but with millions of clients that gives the government free milk. |
nanc... | I haven’t really seen anything that makes me feel they can be trusted. I won’t bank with them. |
csbr... | One of the leading traffickers of arms and narcotics into the US from Mexico. |

chri... | I’m a Wells Fargo customer and they have overcharged me, have allowed payments to go through when I don’t have enough money and then charged me an overdraft fee, and they have done this multiple times. I am in the process of contacting a lawyer regarding this behavior |
jrsa... | No indication that they made any significant changes |
tubi... | this company will do what it takes to make a buck, including unethical practices. they should he monitored closely. |
Do you feel confident about the stability of your job in the current labor market?
- 56% No, I have concerns
- 34% Yes, I feel secure
- 9% I'm unsure.
Comments | |

bret... | Most should be concerned. AI will soon reduce jobs in various industries. I happen to work in consulting which could benefit from AI. Outside of AI impact, tariffs should result in job cuts as companies are forced to reduce costs to offset higher input prices. Or costs are passed on to consumers forcing consumers to either buy less or spend more for the same basket of goods. Many consumers are tapped out after years of inflation created by the Trump and Biden covid stimulus. |
geof... | The huge uncertainty that is inherent in Trump’s knee jerk moves will prevent many large businesses from labor force growth. Board rooms will be reluctant to support growing the size of an organization without compelling reasons. Instead, they will be more likely to “run lean” to protect themselves from an economic downturn that Trump’s tariffs will trigger. |
cmic... | But I no longer trust the information the government is publishing |
bjta... | No worries here. Looking for the economy to expand under the current administration. |
nanc... | Too much instability right now. |
cb10... | The current labor market is a reflection of what trump is doing. Ruining everything! |
mike... | I work in the employee benefits sector. If your benefits suck, you employees leave. I'm always your new best friend or BFF. |
tubi... | dumb donald has no plan. hes just hoping someone will buy his stupid nft's. |
