Just facts, you think for yourself

Do you think Trump expects the tariff ordeal to be solved by April?

  • 29% Yes

mczi...I think he expects it to be solved quickly with his negotiation tactics, but I think it's going to be a bloodier battle.
bcar...Trump has no foresight or insight to economic issues. His tariff scheme is deranged.
bgra...Trump thinks he can solve any and every problem be presidential fiat. What he believes and what is real are often worlds apart.
revl...Musk-ett is in charge. the tariffs are a fail … to destroy democracy.
zkor...It is loaded question. It is not ordeal. It is the solution, so solution does not have to be solved. It needs to be uphold until we see results. If results are not as expected then solution can be adjusted, but we need minimum 6 months or more to see.
zorr...Because he doesn't know his ass from his elbow!
rgar...Master of the deal will win again for the US
arth...Kabuki theater. It’ll get worked out. However, won’t be surprised if the tariffs on China increase, and those on other countries in crease reciprocally.
bala...He’s used to bullying people. He won’t be satisfied until they come in they’re Hans abs indeed.
pman...He is an emperor with no clothes! Until we see him for what he is - we will be living with this idiot fur a long time! His policies ideas are real but he and his cronies are not the ones to implement them. He is using it as a distraction to open the gates for Russia! And of course the media is distracted by the next butterfly ! E are doomed
jgnc...I don't think he thinks (at least critically), he just acts. It is all just an ego stoking power play.
3mcr...It’s a shit show & he has no idea what he’s doing
ebr....The lunatic in office has no idea what he's doing. Too old doesn't have the mental bandwidth.
tjec...What a joke
rola...He will keep playing this game until the stock market reaction forces him to back off his trade (tax) on Mexico and Canada.
sam0...The delay gives US automakers time to source parts from the US rather than Canada or Mexico. And gives time for US automakers and US suppliers to ramp up US manufacturing to offset components now manufactured in Canada and Mexico.
cmar...Trump wants the other countries to bow to him and kiss his ass.
kris...Trump always thinks he can control the bits and pieces. He may expect it, but the drama will continue.
kevi...Reading the responses from the last Trump questions that are pro Trump made me realize that we need more accelerationism. Yes, it sounds unhinged, but this will be the only way to disturb the complacency epidemic that is saturating our media, politicians, and "head in the sand" population.
klbe...I don’t think it thinks.
jrv1...This is ongoing and won’t be resolved overnight. Business must plan for long run, not daily. It takes some time to build manufacturing facilities. I think people need to ask themselves who they want to produce the parts Canada, Mexico or the US. Productivity is key for lower cost of production
pats...I’m hopeful that it will be resolved soon so are country can continue on with the plan
jack...I don’t know enough about it for an opinion
mads...Trump doesn't try to solve anything. He just spreads chaos.
davi...Who knows what he's thinking? He has no brain, just an ego.
chas...Whatever he expects is irrelevant to how his tariff fiasco will play out.
amri...what happens after a month ? Ford will start manufacturing the parts in a month that were until now manufactured in Mexico ? this is dumb
hess...He is playing games which will hurt lots of people
hsin...Trump is an economic nightmare of a bafoon
jack...Trump thinks it's solved already!
cica...The only solution is to get rid of this president. He’s the problem. The economy was doing just fine when he was elected. Economy was doing just fine and even better than that when he took Office on inauguration day. And inflation which had been a problem for the previous two years was coming down dramatically. He’s created a problem that didn’t need to exist. He’s not looking for a solution.
mike...The Orange Hitler is a FOOL!! He will back down l8ke the Spineless man he is!!
dkst...It depends on whether both Canada and Mexico are able to negotiate a deal with the US
tdol...he's an idiot
mowh...He is just giving auto makers time to pay him off (bribery) to avoid his tariffs
brin...Automakers can’t just immediately move production to the United States! Trump is a moron !
patr...I think HE expects his tariffs to work, but I don't think they will be solved quickly or painlessly and without repercussions from our closest allies Canada and Mexico.
jamf...Timelines are fluid!! This is all new...
avaa...I don't give a S---! What that felon thinks! He should be locked up
ende...He thinks it is a genius way to make a deal.
rgru...He has no idea what he is doing and he has no idea of the impact. He is rattling cages to cause chaos
erwi...I am indifferent on this decision. I feel there are hidden agendas behind this. There is a short term negative effect to international trade and local price inflation when tariffs are added. The long term goal is to get citizens to buy local made products. The adjustment takes time and may also create other issues along the way. If there are hidden agendas, then tariffs will affect low-income and middle-class badly.
mark...Not enough time. Too many countries involved
step...Trump is a bully. Why impose a tariff if his previous trade agreement was as good as he had claimed?
fcse...No one knows what Trump will do - not even Trump. He’s improvising.
salv...He will continue to use it over and over again, distrusting trade and confidence in a reliable trading partner
rsle...trump doesn't know what he is doing and is only a vindictive narcissist
simo...it's all market manipulation
darl...If we have never met the devil or Satan, well we're bring introduced world wide, because he is everywhere, like the Almighty, but he doesn't have the power of the Almighty, he can't read our minds, but he shows know 😞 our actions, and that a fact, make a mistake and let him in your life, he'll show you how to lose everything, look at trump, even if he wanted to do right he can't, because Satan doesn't work that way, he wants all too fall, because he can't create anything but a 🤥 lie. Fafo.
jcus...If not sooner!!!
tutt...I expect they will be solved by then as well. This expectation is based on the belief that once again, Trump is holding the cards...
mary...He’s the chaos master of The Art of The Ordeal. Petty and vengeful are not policies we should be governing by.
mbul...Trump has not developed beyond being a slum lord, which is how he runs business from the Oval Office. He has no concept of duty to country and no concern for the consequences to anyone other than himself. He will decide what to do about auto tariffs based on how effectively auto dealers show him their gratitude.
jpau...Not a lot of thought went into any of this.
dpit...Anything Trump wants is self serving and will not benefit anyone other than himself and his cronnies

Do you align with the Supreme Court's decision to compel foreign aid payments?

  • 69% Yes
  • 29% No
  • 2% Other

EmailComments
patr...We contracted for the work and it was completed - we owe this money.
zkor...It is a business decision not a legal issue.
jcus...Completed work only
srtu...Our president is doing what is best for our country. He needs to be allowed the ability to rule in our favor. I feel this is taking away our rights and choice we made when we voted.
jame...The US is not exempt from honoring its contracts even though Trump has a long history as a civilian (and now as President) of only honoring his commitments as long as they benefit him
erwi...I am happy with the Supreme Court decision to unfreeze foreign aid payments.
pats...Our country is dependent on a smooth transition
tutt...The Sup court set a trap for the lower court judge - the 4 incredibly strong dissenting opinions telegraph that the 6 conservative justices may be aligned on the core issue of Presidential authority. In my opinion, the ruling 1) was written to give the appearance of impartiality and 2) resolves a technical issue by providing instruction to the lower court judge which he will not be able to meet if he tries to reissue the TRO - forcing the case to be heard on the merits. Trump wants this issue in front of the Sups where a win will set a precedent, allowing legal justification to continue implementing his plans. If you notice this made front page news at the NY Times yesterday - but no follow up. That's because they recognized what the supremes were doing, and the implication for their readers was not positive.
bdg5...on what basis would any taxpayer want to spend even more money??? HMMMM?? The voters on this subject must either be illegal or felons - either doesnt have to pay taxes!
jrv1...Surprising how many feel we should just give $$ away. It’s always easy to spend someone else’s money. We should help others, but Carley exam how money is distributed and used
eg_y...Saved money to be better managed locally in the United States. Too much corruption both in and out of the agency.
cath...I am glad the Supreme Court upheld Congress's power of the purse and the separation of power within the federal government. Not only is it morally right that we distribute promised funds, but the soft diplomacy of international aid is a benefit to many around the world while aiding global stability and enhancing the clout of the U.S. on the international stage. If the U.S. walks away from soft diplomacy, China will fill the void and become more powerful to our country's detriment.
walt...Allowing a single federal judge to decide billions of dollars in tax funds to be spent is wrong. A full Supreme Court review is required
sher...It's funny that the four justices who are allegedly "strict constructionists" aligned against the Constitution which SPECIFCIALLY gives congress the "power of the purse". But since they have been fully purchased by GOP donors, they are willing to violate the clear power of congress to support an unhinged want to be dictator.
exmx...I’d like to know ……foreign aid for what?
perm...Not all foreign aid is equal. There is definitely fraud and abuse within the system of foreign aid agencies that must be addressed.
salv...They should save money on new contracts. Not legal to cancel agreed upon contracts and work already done.
jamf...Elon has proven the waste and spending in this area is out of control! Time for accountability and a system where all payouts are formally and accurately documented! Much USAID money is missing! NOT ok!
mike...Orange Hitler
mbul...If the country’s purse strings are handed over to the POTUS, we no longer have a Republic- we have a sovereign.
agba...A contract was agreed to, services were performed, so contractors should get paid. I'm disappointed that there were 4 justices who voted against a simple contract question. Scary.
mark...The President should have the final say!
cmar...The foreign aid was funded by Congress! He has no authority to wholesale decide whether to spend money already allocated and committed.
cbni...It is the right thing to do
mass...I believe the foreign aid that has already been earmarked should be sent, but am totally for stopping most foreign aid going forward
pfor...Congress approved the payments! It is not up to Orange man to change it, or even get involved!
rpsi...Pretty scary when a lower court judge makes a political decision and SCOTUS makes a bad ruling. Country is paralyzed by a politicized court system.
kmcg...I meant to say yes!!!!! Please change my answer
bcar...World stability helps our stability
rgar...Thids is insane. Judges decide that billions of tax dollars have to be spent on things that make no sence.
zack...This is an actual constitutional crisis. We have not seen this type of action in the history of our country. Justice Thomas wrote this in I believe 2017* Honesty ask yourself this question: Should we be allowed to shop for a judge for a favorable ruling. Then should that single judge be able to tell the executive branch how to spend 2 billion worth of tax payer money. Especially when fraud has already been clearly exposed. Now Replace Trump with anyone you actually support, would that be ok if it was anyone but Trump? Of course not… This is not the way our government was designed to work!! It’s just one of the many examples of the weaponization of our court system.
ebr....Yes 100% I do. It's about time the SCOTUS starts fixing what their inaction has allowed.
olms...I can't believewe allowed a petulent and vindictive pathological liar to be reelected.
neal...Yes to paying for work done. No to any new work, circumstances apply.
cycl...While I disagree with how foreign aid was used, if work had already been completed, I find it disturbing that you would withhold payment. This is an area our administration needs to correct moving forward.
mczi...Yes, these were already vetted and approved by Congress. From here, they can determine whether or not to approve future foreign aid.
kris...I thinks it’s disgusting that the Supreme Court would continue funding corruption and keep out deficit higher than. Écrasant. I’m not surprised given that the three are liberal judges. I hope DOGE investigates them to see who is giving them all kick backs. I’m so sick of all this Deep State BS. It’s time clean house and get rid of these people. They hurting America.
fcse...Humanitarian decision.
trag...Foreign Aid is a fundamental part of our country’s humanitarian commitment. These funds were authorized by Congress and it would be quite an overreach for the executive branch to override this commitment
cjma...People provided the goods and services and should be paid— you can’t change the rules in the middle of the game
ress...A president cannot freeze money that Congress has allocated.
amri...not paying for the work done is a crime. period.
cmri...It is committed and spent money. The United States should make good on it's commitments regardless of who occupies the White House.
alle...We need to cut wherever we can
dkst...If the aid has been completed then payment should be given. However, the President has the fiduciary duty to review the amount of aid are given and potentially modify what is spent in this area
brit...It depends on what the foreign aid is for but billions of our dollars going to foreign countries is extreme. Perhaps there should be an agreement that we will finish funding a particular project but afterwards halt the payments. We are not obligated as a nation to fund anything for other nations unless it is somehow humanitarian and helps save lives.
mend...We must keep our promises
re13...USAID is a corrupt organization and should be closed. They support many questionable governments and terrorist organizations such as Hamas. Bad decision by the Supreme Court, possibly politically motivated

Has inflation significantly impacted your personal finances?

  • 66% Yes
  • 32% No

mark...Prices have increased on every product and convenience.
dian...We have enough money to withstand the inflation, but I realize that many others do not and I think it’s unjustified to do this.
bgra...Grocery prices are exorbitant.
fcse...Not yet.
just...Credit card debt rising due to increased costs of daily living. Can’t pay off the bills.
mary...Of course. One may be cushioned enough that you don’t feel it day to day, but it definitely impacts your net worth.
kroc...Groceries are still so expensive and as a single lady, single income household, it’s very difficult to survive monthly.
zack...So 33% don’t understand finance? The “Biden” admin ruined the economy. It is funny seeing taking heads blame Trump only after a few weeks in office. Especially after they gaslighted Americans for 4 years
cica...Yes, inflation hurt his family badly. We definitely felt it. Of course we overlooked it on election day because we can handle a little inflation. There’s no such thing as a little fascism. As we are seeing. Fascism and authoritarianism ceased control every aspect of a citizen’s life. America’s becoming a kleptocratic, but it will only serve those at the top of the MAGAt food chain.
barb...Of course it has!! Living on a fixed income it is becoming a bit scary seeing where we are going...
pats...Hope prices come back to normal
ress...Not yet, but it might.
ebr....Insurance and property taxes have significantly affected our lives.
kold...I have a net worth of over $7M, more than half of it invested, producing about a half million a year. Stock market has been excellent the past two years, though I did have negative returns after Trump was elected. Food costs could double and it would not affect my personal finances. I don't care what gas costs per gallon as long as it's available. In fact, I hope it inflates to over $10 a gallon to get the attention of Trump voters. They voted for inflation.
roon...Grocery items expenses have increased, especially facial tissues, bread and baked goods.
jrv1...Free spending during past 4 years has caused prices to rise. Those who say no must live on a different planet or be a recipient of giveaway program
bate...The increased cost of groceries is outrageous and it’s concerning that the tariffs will make it much worse.

How familiar are you with the darknet?

  • 76% Not familiar, I don’t know much about it
  • 19% I didn't know of it until today
  • 5% Very familiar

EmailComments
cica...But I know we have our own corresponding darknet known as the Silk Road. Who’s founder was evidently pardoned by Trump he was in the gallery for the debacle of the union address on Tuesday night
mdul...Like most people, I've heard of the darknet through TV shows and media mention but I would be unable to sit in front of a computer and somehow access it.
mark...Not familiar. Don't use it

Do you regularly check where your medications are manufactured?

  • 87% No, I just take what’s prescribed
  • 13% Yes, I pay attention to that

EmailComments
happ...Ever since a 60 Minutes program 14 years ago highlighting the serious fraud in generic drugs made outside the USA, I only use a thyroid med manufactured in the USA. It costs significantly more than the generic but my health is worth it.
kevi...This is why we need stronger FDA rules and an increased force. We should be able to trust foods and drugs on our shelves and not leave it to individual research. Yet a specific side of the political aisle seems to be convinced that is what is good for corporations by cutting corners for profit with little oversight is good for the masses. Cheering on cutting these agencies that were already gutted to make them inefficient, then people saying "look how inefficient they are!" Then ironically looking at other countries with safer foods and drugs saying "that's how we should be", not understanding it's due to hard government oversight. This disconnect and irony is straight out of a children's novel.
mdul...The FDA (Food and Drug Administration) is responsible for verifying adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) in drug manufacturing facilities, both in the U.S. and abroad. The FDA conducts inspections of manufacturing facilities to ensure compliance with Current Good Manufacturing Practices (CGMPs), which are regulations designed to ensure the safety, quality, and efficacy of drugs. Recall now that Trump and Musk further purged the FDA inspector ranks with their approach to organizational efficiency. Prior to those terminations, the FDA was already struggling to hire sufficient staff. Now, it would seem the task. would be even more challenging.
iren...This is an eye opener. Will check from hereon
rgar...The drug brokers, CVS, Walgreens, and others control what you can take by what they are willing to pay for. Another example of Globalist decay of America. Our drugs should be made here in the US.
trag...I was not aware that many generic drugs are manufactured in India or other foreign countries. I also assumed that generics undergo rigorous testing to insure quality. I guess I am a bit naive! With all the dismantling of government regulatory agencies quality will undoubtedly be sacrificed
fcse...Maybe I need to check their origin, like food and clothes.
lama...And actually, as a pharmacist that would be quite difficult, workflow wise as if every customer asked where their generic came from, it would make us even busier. It would be great in theory to have only US generics or generics from any country (that submit to random US agency led inspections); but that’s not the case.
john...I can tell that a drug's effectiveness changes depending on the manufacturer. Biggest tell is generic Ambien. It is obvious while my thyroid medicine's efficacy may not be noticeable. Until.....
mary...I was about to say I will start checking now, but do we still have a FDA?
cjma...I never thought it could be a problem or dangerous— I’ll check my prescriptions going forward
chri...The FDA has slowed the progress of medicine with their onerous processes that are painfully slow and only accessible to large companies. The least they could do in exchange is make sure drugs imported from overseas have quality control standards as good as the US.
cepe...But now I will… how can I find this out??
cand...I haven't look at where my drugs were manufactured but I will now.
ebr....I pay attention to what I ingest, whether from a doctor. The Oxycontin scam with doctors and the Sacklers teaches a hard lesson. One from which the country is still recovering.
mbul...I had no idea whatsoever that this issue existed. I assumed that any medication I get in the U.S. would have gone through the same rigorous FDA protocols. But who knows what to expect going forward - just another trump travesty.
iane...Maybe we shouldn’t be cutting all our regulatory bodies here in the US then?
alex...No, but I will now.
jame...I assume that US drug sellers will not sell drugs that are not up to FDA US standards. Maybe someone will sue US drug distributers who distribute inferior drugs
lqbh...I’ll start asking
rroy...But I’ll check now!

bhad...Its an excellent brainwashing tool. Welcome to 1984!
zack...Social media is a cancer which is destroying our youth. The sooner people acknowledge this the faster we can address it. One party had the monopoly on it for decades too. Look at the damage it has caused!
kold...I'm hooked. I wish I could stop it, but with our country becoming a fascist oligarchy, I have to pay attention.
mark...Wayne took much!
mbul...If I’m not doing something else, I’m scrolling through social media. I hate it, yet here I am at 71 years of age.
chri...How often can you watch the same stupid content reheated by another provider?
over...Less than 1 hour.
fcse...Only social media I check is FB. Otherwise, I read newspapers on line and links to NYTimes commentary.
alex...Sometimes I don’t look at social media at all.
