Should U.S. military aid to Ukraine include long-range weapons like Tomahawks despite the risk of escalation?

kvas...Yes it should, but then Putin might stop allowing Comb-Over Boy to be his dancing monkey.
andr...Ukraine has nothing to do with average Americans. It's halfway around the world and we're aggravating a nuclear power. It's amazing how easily brainwashed an entire population can be. We are directly responsible for initiating this war and continuing it. It's especially surprising how Democrats love this war. They were the (relative) anti-war party just a few administrations ago.
sche...Targeted to no civilian targets
sayw...My understanding is Tomahawks would involve the US playing a far more active role in targeting and using the missiles. There needs to be a way to remove or reduce that operational role, otherwise we could be seen as being actively at war with Russia. I support Ukraine’s battle to remain at their previously agreed to borders and oppose the Russian aggression.
mrse...Peace through strength
cesv...Because Russia has more weapon than ukra
mebm...History has not changed in over 500 years: the only thing the Russians understand is major, committed levels of strength.
usct...Trump suggested this to bring Putin to discuss ending Putin’s war in Ukraine. But TACO strikes again.
lora...It is time to call Putin's bluff. We should start the secondary tariffs and then provide the Tomahawks. Putin is trapped, the war did not go as planned and he has lost over 1 million soldiers. He knows if he does a peace deal now, he will be exiled if not killed by the inner circle in Russia. Basically, he has done what all dictators do, they stay too long and eventually make mistakes to lose their power.
ksta...Isn't China supplying Russia? What's good for the goose .............
rwwi...US Should have done this before the Russians invaded...Putin would have backed down and there wouldn't have been thousands of lives lost.
hsto...US should do whatever it takes to support Ukraine. Had they done this sooner the was would have been over. The sovereign country deserves the support of the free world. As they support democratic ideals and freedom. But does the UsA still really stand for democratic ideals and freedom or are those just words. Action speaks louder.
rjna...Either the USA is “all in” or not. Every day we hesitate gives Russia more time, more power and more Ukrainian territory. It is also very interesting to see Putin use the same negotiating tactics against Trump as Trump is using against the Democrats for the government shutdown.
rose...The US hasn’t really helped Ukraine.
pfor...Force and destruction is the only thing putin understands. I just wish we didn't have a putin puppet running our country.
robf...Putin and Russian elite only understand real threats of loss of power.
nata...Let's see Ukraine beat those Russians bad
arth...Yes, but. To do so may mean US boots on the ground to instruct in their use. This is not as obvious as it seems. Hopefully, with this have been a foreseen possibility, battery crews from Ukraine should have already been trained in the U.S.
jack...Putin will only want more unless forced to concede.
nanc...Putin has already been escalating. He has no intention of backing down. We need to do whatever it takes to give Ukraine a leg up. This should also include heavy trade restrictions/embargoes against Russia.
priv...I think Russia is deliberately doing this to push America into it. They are working with China on this. America knows this and is trying to balance it all and prepare for the inevitable.
atli...Trump needs to get out of negotiations and appoint someone who speaks the Russian and Ukraine languages fluently and understands that negotiations aren't a zero sum game. That is, a professional who knows what he is doing and not the political fools currently in charge.
robo...Ukraine is fighting Russia so we don’t have to. We should back them with everything they need to end this sooner and retain their property and punish Putin’s war crimes.
geof...Ukraine needs to cripple Russia’s oil production industry in order for Russia to withdraw.
iris...absolutely not. we should cut ties completely with Ukraine.
seba...Putin is embodying Russia now, but for how long? If you feel for two people suffering right now, and one far more than the other (Slava Ukraini my European brothers), you wish to stop him now, contain his madness and awaits he dies. But that suppose to show him what a NATO/ EU full stop means. An airfield would be a good start if our leaders had strength and vision. Wake up.
jame...Support Ukraine and Europe as much as possible!!
gupt...It’s only feeding the war.
pete...America needs to put real and serious pressure on Russia if they want to persuade Russia to make the concessions required for a deal.
benj...Trump is a Russian puppet and unfit for office.
debb...This lame president won’t end this war because he is a slave to putin
p_gs...We know what Putin's aims are against the Free World and compromise is not in the order of Russia. We must support Ukraine with whatever it takes to defend their border's sovereignty. It's unfortunate that 45 waffles on Ukraine's defense and shows an obvious weakness with his policy towards Russia's aggression.
hine...Russia won’t deal unless they are faced with an equal opponent. The tomohawks will level the playing field.
bgb0...Ukraine has been fighting an endless battle with Putin. Putin is annihilating the male population in Russia just to take over Ukraine and increase his boundaries. This is a disgusting war started by Putin without any consideration for the life of his people and of course not for the people of Ukraine.
merc...Ukraine needs a bigger stick. That will give Putin something to really think about. All of the sudden a lot more of his empire is vulnerable.
s_kh...Putin understands brute force and financial pain. He will respond to nothing else, so we should use both.
curt...It is over due. Putin is playing Trump again. It’s time to supply the Tomahawks for a real defense .
ljob...Well it’s a fine mess now.
walk...If Russia does not perceive a real threat, then what negotiation position do we really have?
sher...Enough of Russian aggression...Ukrainians deserve to defend their homeland
bren...russia will only respect strenght, Putin has been playing Trump.
rich...Level the playing field so their residents feel the war and all war facilities in Russia are targeted
dave...Escalation is inevitable. The war is already on. Russian missiles are blowing up apartments in large Ukrainian cities daily. Putin only understands force. He is the former head of the KGB. He's a dangerous and deceitful human.
tpre...Sell weapons to NATO nations and allow NATO to supply Ukraine.
less...Putin is playing games with our child king
jimi...Putin is an aggressive bully
jfbn...Putin will continue to escalate if we DON'T send tomahawk missiles to Ukraine. Sending missiles to help Ukraine is, imho, the only chance of preventing this war from dragging on until Russia annexes all of Ukraine and then turns it aim on other former components of the USSR and westward.
cand...why aren't we supporting a full-fledged democracy
blap...Missiles are the only thing Russia understands.
casa...Stop placating the ENEMY! Align with DEMOCRACY! - Full stop
rjre...The only thing Putin understands is force. It’s time for Trump to live up to his threats and impose sanctions and deliver the missiles to Ukraine.
crai...Absolutely! Hit every military and energy target deep within Russia.
fran...t
rich...USA needs to back Ukraine's need for resources to defend itself and make the cost of Russia's aggression so steep that it can not continue this blatant unprovoked war. But escalating the risk of a more widely spread war by providing offensive weapons is not the way to do that. Trump needs to support allies in a united front and stop pretending that Putin is his buddy!
cbvi...Russia does not want an end to the war until it has totally absorbed Ukraine and then can proceed to Poland... Russia is not trustworthy...just like Trump...
clar...Force is all Putin understands. The Russian people may think differently about this war if they, too, are bombed as Ukraine is. The U. S. has waited too long to do this.
jmmd...Nothing else has worked, and Putin has not changed. He also certainly cannot be accused of hiding his real intentions to annex Ukraine since the days prior to the invasion.
ris....Let’s get this war over once and for all
swjo...Do nothing and “risk” escalation anyway. The lesson of history is that we fail to learn the lessons of history. Hitler, Mussolini and Tojo should be lesson enough. Appeasement creates aggression with tyrants like Putin.
akyg...Yes, Ukraine is fighting a war with one hand behind its back. Currently Ukraine is receiving most of the bombing. Let’s make this a fair fight. Plus the US signed an agreement to help Ukraine years ago. Let’s help them.
chri...It’s good that US keep channels of communication open, but don’t let Putin dictate the conversation. This would require US expertise and preparation, neither of which Trump brings to the table.
lady...Ukraine president is kurupt .we need to stop funding them .you will see in the near future .the people are turning against Vladimir already
tere...Putin only respects power. He and his army must be pushed back into Russia's pre-2014 borders and forfeit to Ukraine the money frozen by the EU as reparations along with the return of the kidnapped children. Action, not threats, will motivate Putin and similarly situated bullies worldwide.
ther...Let Europe worry about Ukraine if all they want to do is war monger. They’re all talk and zero action.
ja4w...They need to be able to defend themselves at the same level they are being attacked.

Should nominees for key federal oversight positions be disqualified based on past controversial or offensive statements, even if those statements are claimed to be jokes or satire?

  • 88% Yes
  • 12% No

EmailComments
dlac...The President is vulnerable to "FAKE NEWS", ACCUSATIONS OF LYING AND DELIBERATE DECEPTION , unless he openly and blatantly states. This is deliberately FAKE NEWS, NOT TRUE,
cand...These people should know better than to put something (anything!) controversial or offensive in any statement whether in some sort of joke or satire form. First off, one would hope they wouldn't find controversial or offensive things "funny" and second, even if they for some reason they did, they should be smart enough not to make such statements.
fnpn...Only Jesus was perfect. You’re not going to get a nominee like him.
creo...Just think the German people burn and ban books and i can’t find in the library Huckleberry Fin by Mark Twain
robf...Context is everything and each situation needs to be evaluated independently. But in this case, the guy is basically a Nazi and a scumbag.
sara...It goes to temperament and ability to carry out duties impartially and judiciously. Past actions do reflect judgment and predict future ones.
tbur...If you're a professional act like it...know that jokes are not funny when they are denigrating a person or a group of people...especially those groups that have been consistently "others"
andr...It obviously depends on the statement and situation, but jokes do not rise to the level of getting someone cancelled for life. Cancel culture is ridiculous.
tere...Case by case analysis needed.
jim....If claiming it was a joke makes it okay, how is anyone ever accountable for their behavior?
jmpr...These people need to be held accountable and disqualified. Unfortunately, this only applies to Republicans today. Democrats do not disqualify their politicians who portray hate, break laws, call innocent white people Nazis and white supremist. Democrats need to step up like the Republicans do and get rid of people like Schiff, Pelosi, Schumer, AOC, Ohmar etc.
atli...Trump's policies of hate need to be resisted by denying 100% of his nominees.
edwa...Racist idiots, mind my language 🙏🏾
jenn...It’s time to have grown ups in government.
lind...Seriously you need elaboration on that question??
jwon...These were not “past” like many years ago and he’s a different person now. These are recent texts. Maybe if he was 50, said that stuff when he was 20 and could demonstrate a change of heart.
cind...Spoiled millennial that spouts their mouth off -whether public or not -(because it will be), can’t backpedal and claim it’s taken out of context, especially if they plan on going anywhere in life. Very few in that generation learned about moral conscience.
nanc...Jokes or not, such statements shouldn’t be ignored.
kfer...impartiality and objectivity should be expected of justice department members, especially of the supreme court
kvas...Traitor Don has deliberately placed inexperienced and incompetent nincompoops in high government positions. Look at Worm Brain for Christ's sake. We need experienced, reliable people in these positions, but that disqualifies them from Comb-Over's world. Why? Because then he might not be the constant center of attention, and no megalomaniac is going to allow that.
pamp...They're Republicans. Those weren't "jokes." That's how those cunts actually feel.
jeff...We have to stop this concerning past and present remarks. “Boys will be boys” doesn’t cut it anymore!!!
brad...If it's enough to attack democrats, it's enough for republicans.
swjo...Yes, but verify that the opposition is not taking things out of context
nanc...Absolutely!

Should banks pursue becoming fully AI-powered organizations, as JPMorgan aims to do?

andr...Eventually all for profit companies will be AI powered. Really nothing that can be done about it. The future will be wild.
sara...It's too easy to cause a panic or a crash.
walk...Be careful what they wish for. The cookie cutter approach to banking is very bad for small businesses. However, as a rule, small businesses don’t bank with those mega banks….
darc...Meant to hit no
crai...AI is here to stay. Use it or lose. Junior bankers may actually OUTPERFORM the Senior bankers if they use the tools smartly. This will be the first generation of AI-Native college grads in history. They will shine.
ja4w...There are some aspects of extending credit that AI may not be good at - i.e. character.
wynn...Financial management should not be exempt from the benefits of AI. That said, there must be a fiduciary responsibility and duty established.
atli...All worksites, including banks, should be fully automated and resulting profits directly nearly 100% to displaced workers through a staggeringly high universal minimum income with a lessor benefit to investors.
cjc3...I will take my business to bank that have people working there. Computers are fine & helpful but I DO NOT to live in a world run by robots.
yfat...well an opinor just do what you think is better for the community for the devoloment we ask for, and to op
swjo...So can not as of yet replace human relationships, research of personality, reliability, character and the list goes on. Someday some of it, never all of it.
kvas...Anyone who has ever tried to get a simple question answered by a robot should recoil in horror at the thought of a robot giving them banking and investment advice.
hsto...When computers do all the jobs who will buy the computers or anything else for that matter.
tomp...It's hard enough to call help lines and get an actual person. Getting a simulated person with a simulated response does not appear to be a welcoming thought.
fnpn...Capitalism folks. They can do what they want. If you don’t like it, don’t bank there.

Does North Korea’s missile launch signal a genuine threat or political posturing?

  • 69% Political posturing
  • 31% Genuine threat

walk...I say threat because no one can really say. Better be cautious
atli...North Korea is offering a tremendous opportunity to nuclear armed countries to begin arms reduction talks. It is unfortunate that the US prefers war over peace.
cica...Deep down all these bullies are cowards. It’s all Bluff and bluster. Look at TACO Trump. Look at Putin sitting at his ridiculously long conference table because he’s afraid of Covid. He’s also not fighting. He’s committing a lot of poor young men who can’t get out of the way to the fight.

nrpe...With a family history of this disease, I have witnessed the overall deterioration of people with the disease. My father was legally blind and deaf with Alzheimer’s in last years. Many times he told me losing his site was the worst.

pssa...More research needed. Funded by cutting the department of war budget in half.
