Just facts, you think for yourself

Is the $7 billion damage to Russia a significant blow to their military capabilities?

  • 74% Yes, it will impact their operations
  • 26% No, they will quickly recover

EmailComments
newb...The only way Ukraine can give Russia pause for thought.
lkdn...Russia is struggling economically. This will hurt but not stop their aggression
mich...The courage, bravery, resolve and heroism of every single Ukranian is something to behold. The Charletons in charge of the USA, Trump the TACO in particular and his lapdog Hegseth are useless
lora...No, Russia will recover. As long as oil prices are above $50 per bbl Russia will be okay. Putin and his cabinet know how to budget and know how to keep their people supporting them thru any crisis.
chri...Manufacturing is not a discipline in which Russia excels, so replacing or refitting and destroyed or damaged aircraft will take years. Of greater significance is the fact that Russia’s internal security was completely compromised: Ukraine was able to launch these attacks from INSIDE Russia itself against Russian military airfields thousands of kilometers away from the line of conflict in Ukraine. Russian citizens must inevitably realize that their current leadership threatens their lives and security. Putin and his minions are reaping the whirlwind of their harebrained scheme to attack their poorer, and much less militarily capable neighbor. The inept fools who lead now Russia claim to have been provoked into invading Ukraine, and maintain this fiction by insisting they are ensuring the security of Russia by continuing their failed effort to subdue Ukraine. Russia is now far less secure and exposed. It has not been this vulnerable since 1938.
andu...The Russians will need to divert more resources to protect their own territory far of the Ukranian border. The damage caused to railway bridges near the border to Ukrain will impact the planned offensive.
mdul...It will impact their operations but let's not forget that they have their greatest ally in the White House so we should not expect to see any meaningful additional pressure or actions that might harm Russia. They will be allowed to continue circumventing the sanctions, thereby receiving cash to pay for more weapons.
bkbr...Their economy is completely on a war footing. Everything now supports the war. Unless China backs away from them, they mean to make war. Whether Putin lives or dies may not make a difference. The war is for now, supported by the powerful in Russia.
robs...This is reason #5 why we need to tariff Chinese imports into the US, aggressively stem the flow of money into China and tolerate the 30% higher prices. If you don't get it, you haven't been paying attention.
aran...I'm no military strategist, but it seems Ukraine chose its targets well. My sincere condolences to the families of the Ukrainian soldiers who lost their lives as a consequence.
denn...They can deploy additional assets from the east and increase sortie rate. Modify other types as launch platforms.
alte...Russia has already.suggered debilitating equipment losses .that have forced it to demothball outdated versions to replace it.These.deep strokes into Russia's heartland could well be a game changer if they continue and are potentially augmented by Trump's lifting of restrictions on the use of U.S.long-range missiles against deep Russian targets. The demoralizing impact of such strikes on the Russian population will most certainly increase opposition to the war and create greater pressures on the regime to end it.
jaga...My wish! I have no factual knowledge, or little!
mike...Russia SCUMBAGS
pfor...Clearly it will hurt as they have had to go outside Russia for help with equipment. Ukraine could continue to blast Russia had TACO Trump not stopped sending aid and quit kissing Putin's ass.
greg...They do not have the capacity to replace many of these aircraft
dels...It's a psychological blow
cica...Go, Ukraine!! Before Chump came along, the Russian economy was on the ropes. I had Taco kept the heat on that Biden had applied, Putin would’ve already negotiated a settlement of some type. But Chicken Taco is being played like a violin. What a fool.
rtmo...Good to see Russia feel some pain
mrse...This attack sends a strong signal that all of Russia is vulnerable
atli...Whether they recover quickly or not is irrelevant. Both sides are apparently willing to fight until the death of all the others. An ignorant position to take but regrettably the only one that the world understands and applauds.
nanc...Go Ukraine!
gree...It was a punch in the nose for Putin h
ebr....Russia invaded a sovereign nation and deserves whatever they get. I stand with Ukraine! 🇺🇦 Slava Ukraini
kkur...They deserve it!

Do you think the FBI's classification of the Boulder incident as an act of terrorism is justified?

  • 90% Yes, it aligns with the evidence
  • 10% No, it seems exaggerated

EmailComments
atli...Regrettably an FBI under Trump will never tell us the truth. We now live in a time of hatred from multiple causes with a government incapable of doing anything more than encourage it.
jamf...Absolutely! They're here( Biden admin ), they've formed cells, and we're not safe until they're escorted out!! They've holds in most US cities at this point ( thank you colleges that accept money from terrorists and invite them to college in droves on student Visas )They plan to take over the US. People need to wake up to this and open their eyes...America first!
isel...The cause is obvious. Terrorism against Jewish demonstrations
enid...That is a stupid question, of course it is justified
andr...The "Free Palestine!" movement excusing acts of violence should be opposed aggressively. While free speech is, and should be, protected, this narrative that the Hamas terrorists are somehow justified needs to be stopped. Hamas hides behind Palestinian civilians, falsifies data for their propaganda, and the United States should do everything in our power to help Israel in stopping this threat to human rights.
mmre...This antisemitic terrorism cannot be allowed in the United States of America. It tears at the core foundation of our constitution
mcgr...And the suspect is an illegal alien from Egypt!
elie...It is terrorist and antisemitic
alec...We need to start labeling all incidents of mass terror, every gun shooting, as terrorism. Go to the definition of the word not the modern interpretation that's been politicized.
blik...Evidence Deniers and Jihad Deniers are trained liars on display. Ignorance of Islam, Caliphate fantasies, and tactics and strategies of the jihadis will result in defeat of Western Civilizations. 630 AD was their first assault.
pris...The perpetrator obviously is not US born and needs to be deported out of the country and put in prison.

Will you cut back on discretionary spending in the next few months?

  • 71% Yes, I plan to be more cautious
  • 29% No, I intend to maintain my spending habits

EmailComments
chiu...Hell no! Spend more.
tomr...Need to have some concern for increased prices for required essentials.
wjcc...Heavens no🤣. Why would I cut back? To satisfy someone else’s need or desire to slow down the economy, simply to make DJT look bad? I don’t make my buying decisions around what outcome someone else wants, either side or either direction.
mcho...TACO TACO Man & the Deranged DOGErs torched my wife's project earlier this year. We are deploying new levels of belt tightening!
ebr....Under capitalism it seems to help the country if I spend.
lora...I have cut back on discretionary spending my whole life. I only buy what I need and always buy for value. This has resulted in me being able to retire happily for the last 5 years with no financial worries. People need to take responsibility for their financial affairs and quit blaming the government, other people, tariffs etc. If you do not need it or plan to use it, do not buy it!
olms...Waiting to see what the congress will do to reign in presidential inconsistent economic moves
koze...Consumers have been dealing with rising costs of everything for several years. No charges are holding steady when renew is due. Every year 10 or 15% increase and sometimes more. Not just food but every aspect of life. It is really catching up with us, especially people on fixed incomes. There is only so much "extra" and all the extra is was up with last years increases. Now we have to cut back. Simplification of course but that is the picture. It is hitting big time right now for people like me.
aran...I already have cut back on discretionary spending. A new jumper is not going to accomplish much in a world gone mad.
bell...Not shopping at Amazon and Target has stopped my mindless shopping. Which has spilled over into shopping in general and looking at other ways to spend my time.
jayw...Savings are threatened with Captain Chaos in charge.
dwen...High taxes and no cost of living increase since 2008. We can barely afford to pay our bills.
dw.w...Hopeful but realistic with cautious optimism.
leei...Our country is not safe, in any way…physically, financially or emotionally.
cica...we already have cut back. As soon as Tusk began taking an ax to the federal government, we realize they’re probably gonna send the country into a recession. And the tariffs, of course, are exacerbating that situation.

Which best describes your current political affiliation?

  • 40% Independent/Other
  • 31% Republican
  • 29% Democrat

EmailComments
kpd4...WOW.... Based on the answers I've seen to some of your questions I'm surprised there aren't more democrats.
rene...I’ve recently changed my political party affiliation, joining the Forward Party movement.
joyc...Stupid ass question which should not be asked in a newsletter
tomr...Need to apply business goals to running government. Democrat party has totally gone off the rails. Support term limits and balanced budget.
cica...Let’s face it a lot of the independent/other are basically Democrats disinfected by that Party’s impotence and inability to connect with voters. Biden actually did a lot of good things and put a lot of good things in place. Most of which are now being dismantled. He was supposed to be a bridge to a new generation of leadership. He never should’ve run for a second term. And he should’ve let that fact be known in 2022.
dian...I only identify as a Dem because it feels more anti-trump than to surrender and go for independent. The big D Dems need real help and leadership,as an opposition party they are pathetic but what is the option in America? Bernie or AOC, how many elections can we lose in a row and still be relevant?
ebr....In this household we lean toward the left. Definitely anti maga. This is not what my grandparents fought fascism in Europe for. We believe in human decency and that doesn’t seem to align with either party anymore.
gwal...Libertarian
geof...I used to be a registered Republican but Trump and the Republicans in Congress have completely disgusted me, hence the formal switch to Independent.
arth...I am an independent who leans Republican, but will support a conservative Democrat, if there is such a thing.
robs...50% the country voted for Joe Biden and then Kamala Harris, and 75% in this newsletter group routinely share strong liberal / leftest political opinions, and yet, only 26% are willing to admit they are Democrats? Now THAT'S FUNNY. I guess this non-representative poll confirms that the next President of the United States will be ... an Independent! Of course!
mdul...I have been a data-driven independent voter for my entire adult life and, for some 40+ years, this was a good perspective to have as I weighed every issue with facts and data. The arrival of Trump has led to diminished emphasis on actual facts, data, science, past actions, and so on. It has been a race to embrace greater ignorance. So, although I voted Republican almost every time before Trump, it was because it made the most sense. Now, voting Republican makes no sense. So, although I remain true to my data-focused independence, I find no circumstance under which I'll vote Republican again in the foreseeable future.
fcse...I’m a former Republican, but started voting Democrat to support Obama in 2008. I was so conflicted between Obama and Romney in 2012 that I can’t remember who I voted for. Since the rise of Trump in 2016, and Republican support for him, I have stopped voting for any Republican. Doesn’t mean I’m uncritical of Democrats, but I can no longer support Republicans. They are no longer the party I grew up with.
mrse...I’m a lifelong Democrat but am very disaffected with my party right now over the Biden disability and coverup
jamf...Policy over Party!!

Do you think the ability of sodium-air fuel cells to convert CO2 into baking soda is a significant breakthrough?

  • 75% Yes, it's a game-changing innovation.
  • 21% Unsure, I need more information.
  • 4% No, it's a minor benefit in the grand scheme.

EmailComments
lkdn...Of course the president doesn’t approve of research, global warming, carbon free power
atli...Because the US government is doing all it can to discourage clean energy, this could benefit the rest of the world and their fight to save the environment.
arth...There is always a however, attached to these game changer discoveries. What are the cons of the discovery?
cica...What’s being described is true. This is potentially a game changer and just the kind of breakthrough. We need to save this planet from global warning warming and greenhouse gases.
page...Hope so!

Do you believe that extending lifespan with drugs is more valuable than improving the quality of life in later years?

  • 84% No, quality of life is more important.
  • 16% Yes, lifespan extension is crucial.

EmailComments
atli...We can have both.
jodu...I'm 88, quality of life is more important. Suffering the ills of old age for a longer period is not a benefit.
nanc...What good is living if the quality is low, due to health, mobility, or financial issues?
ebr....Who wants to live longer if you’re going to suffer? Healthier aging is fine but what happens when there’s too many on the planet and our resources run dry? That’s something I’d rather not think about.
cind...Also, addressing the causes of cancer would be more of an interest to me. I lost my mom and my brother because of cigarettes. I realize it’s a choice but when does it end?
