pjpa...Democrats/Media Conspiracy Theories concerning Trump prove wrong yet again
sher...Trump will get his baby feelings hurt and blow it all up as usual
tkl7...Trump doesn’t appear well.
remy...There's no sign Trump is going to stop underhanded tactics, salami slicing, deception, or anything, so he'll destroy this deal before it's even formalized.
ceal...Perhaps I’m biased but the Chinese economy needs the USA more than the USA’s economy needs China. Things could change once the USA and allies have enough rare earth refining capacity.
tubi...dumb donald the petty-file will do his typical bloviation and gross self-aggrandizing and disgust the chinese, again.
ocds...Nothing is safe with Ol' Yam Tits leading the country.
dpbu...Trump knows how to do a deal that benefits us
norm...No matter what the outcome is, Trump will renig on the deal at some point.
bret...There will be a deal but for how long? This issue keeps popping up and probably won't stop until dictator Don is gone.
dlgr...China can only bluff because they depend on the US market since their own people's wages are so abysmal and their population is rapidly declining due to the disastrous one child policy
ther...People need to start giving Trump credit. It’s bordering on ridiculous the TDS that seemingly smart people exhibit.
tomd...I believe they will eventually settle on a deal, but it might take several iterations and a lot of follow-up to ensure compliance.
cica...Trump’s getting played like a violin by Putin, Xi, and frankly the whole rest of the world. TACO has made himself a joke. Remember months ago when he gave Putin 2-weeks? The world is playing chess. Trump and the MAGAt’s are playing with themselves.
atli...China is doing all it can until Trump is gone so that they can begin to change the world economy for the better for all; unlike Trump who wants to change it only to the benefit of his oligarchs.
flda...Poor Trump is in over his head
nanc...I’ll believe it when I see it.
curt...It all depends on Trumps mood at the time.
kelt...Trump is the King. He'll get it done
robb...Like Putin, Xi is not to be trusted.

Should the U.S. have increased tariffs on Canadian imports in response to a political ad?

  • 83% No
  • 17% Yes

EmailComments
pete...The ad was simply a video of a a speech by a previous Republican President. There is no reason nor justification for any response.
msyk...Trump is now and always has been emotionally unstable and his "trade" policies reflect that fact.
capt...Bully and Childesh!
walk...Aw come on, there’s always backlash. If Trump says anything, the left burns a building down.
vale...His entire policy with respect with Canada is petty and more related to his wish that Canada be the 51st state (though with 9 provinces it should qualify for 9 states that would all vote Democratic). Tariffs with one of our largest trading partners, with whom he had negotiated a US/CAN/MEX trade agreement and where our trade balance is not a major issue make NO economic sense.
shoe...Tariffs shouldn't be a political weapon; they should be based on economic issues.
bret...Just another example of a dictator trying to control the media. Trump will continue to enact revenge on anyone doing or saying things he doesn't like. From canceling funding to blue states, threatening media licenses, to tariffs, tax hikes and jail. Republicans must reign him in before it is too late.
thin...Stop making enemies of our allies. Trump's al punitive behaviors are child like
spr....Idiotic response to “free speech”…oh, maybe that’s not applicable to foreign nations.
ksta...Trump acts like an 11 year old who doesn't get his way. A total bully.
tomp...This is childish!
don....Trump is a baby man, snowflake. Don't criticize the false king.
chri...What embarrassing jackassery.
mike...Stupid!
ambl...Our thin-skinned wannabe "king" is going to get the US into much worse trouble than just tariffs if he keeps up this behavior.
tere...The basis for presidential power to levy tariffs was economic emergency. Reagan’s kitchen table talk, contradicting DJT’s claims of the benefits of tariffs, is not an economic emergency. We are governed, not ruled, the difference includes an established process of law and evidence based decision making.
sue....Trump needs to keep his big mouth shut!
nanc...If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen, donnie!
taho...You were highly incorrect that the Reagan organization ..... they are exploring options to sue as it was not accurate!!!!!!! I will cancel reading if you continue to show WILD LIBERAL BIAS!!!!!!
bill...Petty vindictive move!
cica...Trump’s a thin skinned snowflake who can’t take a joke and can’t handle disagreement. He’s a loser.
usct...This is the reaction of the 3 year old Trump and his tantrums. With apologies to all 3 year olds.
brad...The reaction of a child throwing a hissy fit.
susa...When Trump was scheduled to meet with the leader of South Korea he criticized him on TV and the meeting was almost canceled. And now Trump's throwing a fit because somebody criticized tariffs ahead of his tariff meeting.
tjor...Tariffs should be based on economics not knee jerk Reactions.
greg...Spoiled child strikes again
maur...We should not be target our friends and neighbors with hostile actions.
bnig...It's petty
kelt...can't trust the socialist canadiens
flda...Canada 🍁 is our neighbor and best trading partner
jmso...Trump, grow up!
char...It’s extremely important that each country take responsibility for what they advertise as truth . When it comes to your country on another you must advocate for wholeheartedly full disclosure.
silv...This is just another of Trump’s bully moves that further alienates our closest newborn and previously our strongest supporter. GO BLUE JAYS!
ocds...Another Orange Baby tantrum reaction.
ted....Trump lacks emotional intelligence
hine...You don’t call some girl a slut when you’re dating her without paying the price. Some people have to learn their lessons the hard way.
jonh...Only malignant narcissists play that way.
dlgr...It's foreign political interference, what did they think would happen?
ja4w...If it was accurate in content then it is informative and should be heard
kbki...The move was reactionary and immature.
ebr....Of course not.
fnpn...The US needs to maintain its respect in the world. Our neighbor to the north, which heavily depends on us for trade should never be poking the bear.
doct...I’d love to hear the logic of the 17% of responders of this survey.
crai...Regan was against tariffs except in rare cases. Truth.

How do you view the trade-off of higher healthcare premiums for 24 million Americans in exchange for ending the government shutdown?

  • 64% Unacceptable
  • 26% Acceptable
  • 10% Not Sure

EmailComments
9812...Who are the 24 million?
klra...Obama Care is a garbage law and tax payers are funding it to keep it alive with the subsidies (our tax dollars). It should be terminated by a healthcare plan that makes sense and works. I hope the government stays closed until Obamacare dies.
nanc...If the Democrats agree to end the shutdown without securing an agreement to extend the healthcare subsidies, they will end up with nothing. It will be the same people who will lose their snap benefits that will have unaffordable healthcare. This administration doesn’t give a sh*t about them.
dlgr...It's not a trade off, it's ending healthcare for non citizens to use for citizens.
bret...There is plenty of government spending to cut, Healthcare shouldn't be a targeted cut. 5% across the board wage cut for all federal employees and contract workers. That would be a reasonable start. Increase Healthcare premiums on congress. Reduce social security benefits to the top tiers. Reduce military spending. Raise the top income tax rate.
swjo...Your premise is too simple making your question sound like something from a Democrat talking point. They need to wipe the program out and start over.
ocds...Orange man still without anything more than "concepts of a plan" for anything important in America. Poor red states will be hit the worst. America first, unless Argentina needs money and we need to bulk up military operations to blow up boats, violating international law.
jhb1...That’s not exactly true
iano...Removing non citizens from subsidized health care is what I voted for. We won the election, elections have consequences. Dems need to get back to work
kerr...Affordable/Free healthcare should be the number one priority for congress.
sher...Part of me wants the democrats to let it happen. I see so many uniformed people blaming the democrats it’s frustrating
crai...The GOP has refused to even meet with the Dems since Trump took office. That’s not leadership, that’s dictatorship.
doct...Frankly, the Democrats are making the issue known to anyone listening to journalists. I also know they are doing the right thing. But the best thing that the Democrats can do is to let the Republicans screw and piss off as many Americans as possible so that they pay attention and vote them out. The more Republicans out of office, the better.
lind...Republicans are trying to frame this impasse as Democrats wanting to provide healthcare benefits to illegal immigrants but that is a false narrative. The only healthcare that illegal immigrants receive is actual emergencies treated in an ER. By the way, that was a law introduced by Ronald Reagan. The total spending on this type of care is 0.04% of Medicaid spending. Note also the other point that is not being widely disseminated and that is the open enrollment period begins in just a few days. With more than 20M Americans about to have their ACA premiums double, they cannot commit to buying insurance since many cannot afford it at double the premiums. This is a primary reason why Democrats are insistent on having the subsidies extended before allowing the government to reopen - waiting to confront the issue after reopening means that, by some estimates, almost 10M Americans will then go into 2026 without any health insurance.
jmco...The question is for Americans. I support subsidies for Americans. Not for the people who are here illegally. The Democrats want it for everyone. Sorry…come here legally, become a citizen, pay your fair share and enjoy the benefits.
hw73...the problem with the democrats is they are holding Americans hostage. These items should be debated in Congress with an bi-partisan agreement. Their approach is akin to a two-year old not getting their way in a Trillion dollar debt to the Taxpayers.
ceal...The healthcare premiums would go back to normal levels, before the Covid subsidies. How about looking at repealing and replacing Obamacare instead? It has caused a lot of problems.
clar...I think when the government gives these tax credits it drives up the cost of insurance. People are greedy if they can collect money from the government in the form of a tax credit they will take it and raise premiums. My daughter attended a private school in Florida. I was very excited that they would allow us to use vouchers to help cover the cost of tuition. I thought it would help with diversifying the class. The school increased tuition and class sizes doubled. The quality of education got worse. So is the case with all of the other private schools in our area. It sounds like a wonderful idea and of course we want people to have affordable health care but I’m not sure if a tax credit is really the way to do it. I think if we take the subsidy away people will just not reenroll and insurance companies will have to lower premiums
psha...I believe that I misread this question. To clarify, I believe the support of our nation's healthcare is a vital concern that should not result in health issues that bankrupt its families.
kelt...Obamacare was a ripoff to the american people forced to buy it or be taxed $3,500 for going bare. Oh did you know that Obama receives a royalty of $2.5 million each year from Obama care? What does that tell you
tubi...plenty of money for war and subsidies on other countries, but nothing for the US taxpayers.
aego...Healthcare premiums are already out of control and ending the subsidys will make matters so much worse. We need and could have universal healthcare if we cared about our citizens.
ris....Don’t give in
dano...It’s tough but we have to balance the budget or America will economically collapse. We cannot keep adding on more costs that have been planned to not be paid and ever think we will balance the budget. When we do add costs there has to be a priority established of Americans first and giveaways last to others internally or externally, because it is Amercan’s money that is paying the bills.
lnhs...Politicians should absolutely be cut off first, in any shutdown.
mhsf...This should not be an either or situation. All other companies and government entities have deadlines that they have to meet and negotiation should be scheduled in. This entire situation shows a lack of leadership and empathy. I am not a Trump hater at all. I just think that he can do better.
pldm...The question is bias. The Republicans say they will address the healthcare premium situation after the government opens up. The Democrats feel the shutdown of the government is their only strength. So, the trade off is not totally accurate. It's politics showing its worst side at the American people's suffering.
fnpn...Democrats are going off the deep end
stev...End the shutdown & work on the Healthcare issues
helg...AMERICANS FIRST!!
ambl...For one thing, immigrants are not getting ACA healthcare benefits; the GOP continues to ie about this. For another, I agree with the Democrats who do not trust the GOP when they say they'll negotiate about healthcare after the shutdown ends. If the Democrats cave on healthcare now, I don't trust the GOP to negotiate in good faith later.

Should historic museums like the Louvre prioritize security upgrades even if it alters their traditional architecture?

  • 74% Yes
  • 13% Unsure
  • 13% No

remy...The question is poorly formulated. In this case they made the display less fitting to the museum AND less secure. Not only did it look uglier and poorly adapted to the museum architecture, but it was less secure than before.
bnig...It is unfortunate but, it's the world we no live in
ambl...I can imagine there are many security upgrades that can be done without significantly altering overall architecture. Far more than just a yes/no question here.
fnpn...Who cares
ebr....Gotta keep up with the times, folks!
nanc...What good is the historic architecture if they can’t protect the treasures inside.

The placebo effect in pain relief was significant in this study. Do you think medical treatments should leverage placebo mechanisms intentionally?

  • 76% Yes
  • 24% No

ebr....Yes, addiction and overprescribing opioids are not a good answer. If relief is found another way, try that. No sense in keeping addiction treatment centers in business when a regular cbd would provide needed relief without the time and monetary costs. Life is short!
tjor...The mind bill over matter ability of humans is still an untapped resource.
nanc...Whatever works.
fnpn...If you apply these principles in the broader consumer market that just would not be ethical.
lynn...Placebo responding has a long history in mental health care. The brain is a wonderful thing!
