phil...Trump is a fucking nightmare
bbol...I do not believe any od this
wfer...China, as any other country, will only do what is in their best interest. In addition, China is not an ally of the US which will always result in a failed partnership.
celt...We will be at war with them within 10 years
ssmu...We are no longer part of the free world.
brad...It may be temporary, until election time when the majority of eligible voters realize what impact it has had on the USA economy.
susa...Art of the deal.
pala...A lasting cooperative relationship will be challenging given both countries are not only the greatest powers on the planet but also they hold very different views.
grif...Damage has been done with wild demands that are not carefully analyzed and applied.
pldm...Yes, it is a temporary fix but a positive step forward.
tjbr...China can’t be trusted!
mdul...China's leadership deals in timelines measured in years, decades, and centuries. Trump deals in the news headlines of the moment with no understanding of lasting impacts. Trump has put himself, and the country, into a vulnerable position vis-a-vis China and is looking for a way to make it seem like he is getting some small win. China may very well allow him to do so, while quietly seizing the international influence and partnerships that Trump has abandoned.
cica...No one can make a realistic deal with Donald Trump. He doesn’t honor agreements. He doesn’t honor contracts. He changes his mind. Seven years ago he had the US MCA deal. Which was his version of a new trade deal with Canada in Mexico. On liberation day, he tore it up and started attacking them all over again. He’s unhinged.
tubi...until dumb donald goes away, things will remain unstable.
stro...We will Never Find a Happy Medium
pete...The US and China are likely to see each other as their main competitor for top superpower slot and will remain at odds.
mrse...High tariffs benefit no one. It is in the interest of both sides to reach agreement and lower them
shei...Trump will screw it up
mike...It's great to see a President resist squeezing his nose into the ass cheeks of China. The U.S. has been on an international trade death spiral for decades.
nosk...China is not our friend. It will wait until friendly president and go back to doing business as before
kerr...China can’t afford trade war with the US, so right now, China is posturing.
fern...Only temporary if the next USA administration chooses to relax compliance or unwind the progress being made now.
wlkm...The. Chinese do not live up to their commitments.
sims...China will never comply. This should have been done more strategically allowing companies to develop new supply chains before adding tariffs.
atli...It remains the position of the defense department that the US needs to go to war with China. It will be interesting to see whether Trump's insane tariff policy takes presidence over the war hawks insane kill everyone we disagree with policy.
lora...World trade is a good thing that keeps peace. It is better to do deals involving trade vs going to war.

What do you think is the better solution to stop mass shootings?

  • 51% More mental health help
  • 40% More gun control
  • 10% Other

EmailComments
itsb...Both
rebe...Lack of a traditional family structure is causing unprecedented levels of mental health issues in kids Daycare/not spending the first 3 years with mum, lack of fathers, victim culture - I think all are contributing to a young people who are confused and unable to control and work through their emotions
reba...Do a better job controlling “bullying” at school. This is where it all starts…
jscu...Guns are not going to be banned in USA. Gun lobby is too strong and Congress too divided. Involuntary commitment and humane treatment over time is rare. Even mental health support is voluntary nowadays. We need to use technology to provide every student with a safety button that talks to one’s cell phone and communicates with law enforcement and school authorities, armed with non-lethal safety devices. See www.protectus to learn how we can make it happen.
mrse...Gun control and mental health: it’s both, not either/or.
crai...Treat schools like airports, screen all before entering. Gun control has proven not to work and mental health help is good but usually to late.
bcar...Both
fcse...Neither gun control nor mental health will stop someone determined to hurt others. Trained police inside and outside schools might be more effective.
wigg...Both
cica...This latest incident in Europe is extremely rare. Vanishing rare. They have a lot fewer guns than we have. And they don’t have semi automatic weapons. At least not legally.
jami...Both
wbed...Both.
robe...Both gun control and mental health are necessary
trac...While more mental health advocacy is very important, there are underlying drivers for this behavior and increased mental health issues that are being overlooked.
r.sc...Both. We need to get kids off the screens, and teach them how to manage their emotions, and create, maintain and handle social relationships in real life. And also teach firearm safety while increase regulations.
9812...Execution of convicted murderers would help
jame...Annual insurance requirements per firearm.
avaa...You need both
donr...It’s obvious. Get rid of the guns.
jmic...Easy access to guns and virtually no emphasis on gun safety leads to higher gun violence and more suicides. If we just regulated guns like we do cars, that would be an improvement.
jhoe...More guns in the hands of good people!
lora...We need to stop the myth that violet mental health people can be fixed to live in society. If you suffer from mental health and you are violent you should be put in prison or given the death penalty. People are tired of these people who claim they have mental health issues who are violent. Punish these people vs cuddling them
acle...Some trained and armed teachers.
tubi...fix the disconnects between reporting systems.
josi...BOTH: Stricter gun control and extensive mental health help AND evaluation; to qualify to own a firearm.
kerr...Gun control does nothing to stop killings

Do you believe that deregulation will ultimately benefit American households?

  • 66% No, it may lead to negative consequences for consumers and the environment.
  • 34% Yes, it will reduce costs and increase opportunities.

nanc...Yes, let’s let the fat cats make even more money by polluting our air and water. After all, isn’t money more important than health and safety?
fnpn...Deregulation leads to innovation. The government should not be overreaching.
edmu...B
kfer...Government regulation has made our country and world and safer place.
cica...The rooster is now in charge of the henhouse. You know what that means!
tubi...big businesses operate without ethics and ethics cannot be legislated, but regulations help to keep businesses from becoming financially omnipotent and above legal reproach.
shab...Always ends up with a massive govt bailout
rhat...The polling samples are clearly politicized responders from both sides of the spectrum, given the vitriol of their comments, but decidedly very left- leaning 2/3 v 1/3 on most questions. Probably not reflective of the national mood which is usually 50-50. So what I take away is that 2/3 of Anna’s viewers are Anti-Trump before anything else. Poll results should probably best be handled by professional pollsters and representative sampling.
