SpaceX Starship Nails Landing on Fourth Attempt

SpaceX's Starship launched from Boca Chica, Texas, and successfully returned to Earth, landing in the Indian Ocean.

Previous flights ended in explosions. However, this test (fourth one) demonstrated that the Starship can re-enter Earth's atmosphere and land safely.

The two-stage rocket launched at 7:50 am CDT. The Super Heavy booster detached and landed in the Gulf of Mexico, while Starship continued its journey for 45 minutes when it plunged back through the atmosphere

NASA relies on Starship for its upcoming lunar missions, competing with China's moon ambitions.

WhatsApp Unveils AI-Assistant for Businesses

Meta introduced new AI features to WhatsApp for businesses. The new AI assistant allows businesses to engage with customers, answer queries, and facilitate sales through chat.

Initially, this feature will be tested in India and Singapore, with plans to expand to Brazil.

Additionally, Meta launched an AI-driven ad targeting program for WhatsApp.

The plan is to mine user behavior on Facebook and Instagram to target relevant ads. Provided users use the same phone number across accounts.

Antitrust Probes Coming for Big AI

The Justice Department and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) are investigating Microsoft, Nvidia, and OpenAI for antitrust concerns in AI.

Microsoft partnered with OpenAI, investing $13 billion in its AI technology for Bing, Edge, and Windows. Nvidia controls 80% of the AI chip market and is under scrutiny for its dominance.

Regulators worry that AI's need for massive data and computing power benefits dominant firms disproportionately.

Microsoft's $650 million deal with Inflection AI also faces scrutiny, questioning if it bypasses merger laws.

Former Google CEO Tests Military Drones in Silicon Valley and Ukraine
