Hegseth in Congress

The U.S. seeks allies for a “Maritime Freedom Construct” (MFC) to coordinate diplomacy, share intelligence, and enforce sanctions, involving both diplomatic and military efforts to open the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran’s war costs $25 billion after two months, below earlier $200 billion estimates.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth defended firing top generals, citing a “destroyed” military culture, and admitted Iran’s nuclear sites were destroyed but said nuclear ambitions continue.

Hegseth defended adviser Tim Parlatore amid conflict-of-interest concerns and upheld his “no quarter” stance despite war crimes warnings.

Do you think firing top generals was necessary to fix what Defense Secretary Hegseth calls a “destroyed military culture”?

It arrives on a Tuesday.

You open it in the kitchen or a parking lot.

It’s a non-renewal notice from your home insurance company.

Most people think it’s just a headache—a few hours on the phone to find a new carrier.

They’re wrong.

The moment that letter is signed, your home’s value drops by about 12%. On a $1.4 million house, that’s $168,000 in equity gone before you even finish your coffee.

If you live in California or Florida, or if you stand to inherit property there, the "climate-insurance vise" is closing on a very specific timeline.

The FAIR Plan just filed for a 35.8% rate hike. Florida premiums are already 4x the national average. The federal flood program expires in September.

Most people are watching their inheritance drain away without realizing it.

We’ve put together the Coverage Continuity Protocol. It’s the seven-step playbook for keeping your house and your equity through the next 18 months.

Here is the unvarnished truth about the insurance crisis.

The 12% Equity Trap: The Letter You Haven't Received Yet We look at why a simple bureaucratic form is currently the biggest threat to your net worth. It’s not just about the premium; it’s about the "wildfire risk reassessment" that quietly devalues your property the moment it hits your mailbox. [Section 1: The Letter That Made Your House Worth 12% Less]

The Two-State Vise: Why CA and FL are the Same Problem The headlines say these are separate crises. They aren't. They are two different ways the market is breaking. We break down the numbers—like why Florida carriers are finally profitable while your premium is still projected to hit $8,300 this year. [Section 2: What’s Actually Breaking]

The "Half-Insurance" Myth: Why Your Policy is Full of Holes Most people think the FAIR Plan or Citizens is "real" insurance. It’s not. It’s a "named-peril" policy that won't cover a burst pipe, a theft, or a slip-and-fall. We explain why half of California is currently functionally uninsured and don't even know it. [Section 3: The Three Things You're Probably Wrong About]

The Insurance Mirage: The "Code Upgrade" Loophole
This is the core of the crisis. If your 1980s home burns down, insurance pays to rebuild a 1980s home—but the city requires a 2026-compliant build. We look at the $300,000 "improvement gap" that you are currently self-insuring without a single dollar of coverage. [Section 4: The Insurance Mirage]

The Coverage Continuity Protocol: A 7-Step Sequence You can't just buy a policy anymore; you have to build a "stack." We lay out the seven decisions that determine if you keep your equity. From "DIC wraps" to the specific vent mesh that triggers a 16% discount, this is the checklist for the next five years. [Section 5: The Protocol]

The Inheritance Trap: Why Your Parents' Policy Won't Save You This is the part almost no one in their 40s has considered. The second you put your name on the deed, the carrier re-underwrites the house. We explain why the 2018 estate-planning playbook is dead and what you need to do 18 months before the property changes hands. [Section 6: The Five Mistakes That Will Cost You Your Inheritance]

The Exception Trap: When the Standard Advice is Wrong
If you own a high-value home above the $3M FAIR Plan cap, or if you run an Airbnb, the standard rules don't apply. We look at the Lloyd's of London "Surplus" market and why your short-term rental activity is a leading cause of denied claims. [Section 7: When the Standard Advice is Wrong]

The 30-Day Action Plan: 16 Hours to Save $300k We’ve mapped out exactly what to do over the next four weekends. It involves three specific phone calls, two inspections, and building an "Evidence Vault" that stops insurance adjusters from low-balling your claims. [Section 8: The 30-Day Action Plan]

The rules of the game changed while we weren't looking.

You can watch the news and hope for the best. Or you can run the protocol and move on with your life.

Your neighbors are playing with fire. You don't have to.

LIV Golf Collapse

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund will end LIV Golf funding after 2026, after investing over $5 billion since 2021. LIV Golf’s net losses outside the US hit $462 million in 2024, exceeding $1.1 billion total since inception.

The tour will downscale from 14 events in 2026 and postponed its June US event. LIV seeks new investors and leadership changes while aiming to stay international.

Top players include Jon Rahm and Phil Mickelson; Brooks Koepka returned to the PGA Tour paying up to $90 million in penalties.

The PGA Tour maintains strict rules on LIV player returns, with CEO Brian Rolapp emphasizing accountability for contract breaches.

Do you think the PGA Tour is right to financially penalize players coming back from LIV Golf?

AI Gold Rush

Microsoft, Alphabet, Meta, and Amazon drove strong AI-fueled sales growth but faced soaring capital expenditures: $410 billion in 2025, projected $670 billion in 2026, and up to $2.9 trillion by 2028 for AI infrastructure.

Chip shortages and supply constraints increased costs. Alphabet led with 81% net income growth, planning $180-$190 billion capex in 2026.

Amazon’s AWS revenue rose 28% to $37.6 billion; its AI chip sales hit $20 billion annually with $59.3 billion property spending. Meta raised 2026 capex guidance to $125-$145 billion and revealed underestimated AI compute needs.

Microsoft posted $83 billion revenue and $38 billion profit but saw a $6 billion free cash flow decline, lifting capex to $190 billion. Investors watch AI spending sustainability amid rapid growth.

Will AI-driven productivity gains justify potential job cuts announced by companies like Meta?

Cartel Ties Exposed

U.S. prosecutors charged Rubén Rocha, governor of Mexico’s Sinaloa state, with conspiring with the Sinaloa Cartel’s “Chapitos” faction to smuggle drugs and possess machine guns.

The indictment names Rocha and nine other Mexican officials, some allegedly receiving bribes or aiding cartel violence. Prosecutors claim Rocha attended cartel meetings exchanging protection for political support; he faces a minimum of 40 years if convicted.

Mexico’s federal government rejected the charges, and Rocha denies them. The case strains U.S.-Mexico relations and challenges President Claudia Sheinbaum, who supports Rocha but demands proof.

Rocha’s immunity can be lifted by Morena-controlled Congress before his 2027 term ends.

Do you believe it is possible for a sitting governor to be deeply involved with a criminal cartel?

Breast Tissue Shift

Scientists mapped breast tissue changes in 527 women aged 15 to 86, finding declines in epithelial, immune, and stromal cells with age, especially post-menopause.

Milk-producing lobules shrink or vanish, fat cells increase, and blood vessels decrease. Cancer-fighting immune cells like B-cells and active T-cells drop, while M2 macrophages linked to cancer rise, creating an inflammatory environment that supports cancer cell survival and spread.

Over 320,000 US women are expected to be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2026, mostly after age 50.

Aging breast tissue fosters conditions for cancer growth, and variability in tissue aging may explain individual cancer risk differences. Researchers analyzed over 3 million cells to produce this detailed map.

Do you think breast cancer risk varies mostly due to differences in tissue aging speed rather than external factors?

Ultra-Processed Brains

An Australian study of 2,192 adults aged 40–70 found ultra-processed foods comprised 41% of daily energy intake, higher among younger people and men.

Each 10% increase in ultra-processed food consumption lowered attention scores by 0.05 points and raised dementia risk scores by 0.24 points. Ultra-processed foods include soft drinks, chips, ready meals, dairy desserts, and hot dogs.

Higher intake correlated with lower education, obesity, and poor Mediterranean diet adherence; memory scores showed no link. Processing, additives, and chemicals may impair cognitive function beyond nutrient loss.

The study noted associations but cannot confirm causation. Replacing ultra-processed snacks with whole foods might benefit brain health.

Do you believe that the amount of ultra-processed foods someone consumes can directly affect their brain function?
