Trump’s Primary Flex

President Trump backed seven GOP state Senate challengers in Indiana, spending $8.3 million on advertising; five won, reshaping redistricting efforts. Indiana’s Republican governor supported these challengers.

In Ohio, Democrat Sherrod Brown won a Senate primary and will face Republican Jon Husted in a special election. Trump-endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy won the Republican gubernatorial primary. In Michigan, Democrat Chedrick Greene won a special state Senate seat, giving Democrats a 20-19 majority.

These results show Trump’s strong control over GOP primaries, while Democrats build momentum in key battlegrounds ahead of the midterms.

Indiana tests GOP loyalty; Ohio and Michigan highlight competitive races.

Given recent election outcomes, who do you think has a stronger chance of winning key battleground states in the upcoming midterms?

You probably think your retirement account is diversified.

You did the responsible thing. You put your money in an S&P 500 index fund or a Target Date fund. You set it and forgot it.

But the math changed while you weren't looking.

Seven tech companies now make up a full third of the U.S. stock market. For every dollar you blindly drop into a passive index fund, roughly 33 cents goes straight to just seven names.

If those seven stocks drop 30%, a typical $1 million retirement portfolio loses nearly $80,000. It doesn't require a recession. It doesn't require a market crash. It just requires a bad quarter for a few tech CEOs.

This isn't the dot-com bubble. It's actually worse. Because this time, the concentration is entirely mechanical. Your portfolio is taking on massive risk, and you never even clicked a button to approve it.

We broke down exactly how this happened. More importantly, we built a playbook to help you fix it before the market does it for you.

Here is the unvarnished truth about the Mag-7 Concentration Trap.

The 9% Warning Shot: Meta lost $170 billion in market value before breakfast, right after beating earnings expectations. Why? Because they plan to spend a fortune on AI chips. We show you what hyperscaler spending actually means for your net worth. [Read Section 1: The 9% Morning]

The Illusion of Diversification: You hear "S&P 500" and picture 500 companies. But cap-weighted index funds run on autopilot. The bigger a stock gets, the bigger your bet on it gets. We explain the invisible mechanics routing your money. [Read Section 2: What You Actually Own]

The Mechanical Trap: Everyone compares this to the dot-com crash. They miss the point. Those bubbles were driven by active human choices. Today's concentration is run by algorithms. [Read Section 3: This Isn't a Tech Bubble]

The Trillion-Dollar AI Bill: Microsoft, Meta, Amazon, and Alphabet are spending roughly $700 billion on AI infrastructure this year. We break down the week the capex math fundamentally changed, and why the Mag-7 no longer move as a pack. [Read Section 4: The Capex Math]

The Detox Playbook: You need a hard limit. We introduce the 25% Rule and give you a 5-tier playbook to un-trap your portfolio—from equal-weight overlays to tax-aware unwind sequences. [Read Section 5: The Detox Playbook]

The 5 Quiet Mistakes: Trying to fix this the wrong way is expensive. Selling a massive chunk of company stock all at once? That’s a $90,000 tax mistake. Buying a Nasdaq ETF to "diversify"? You just made the problem worse. [Read Section 6: The Five Quiet Mistakes]

When the Standard Advice is Wrong: The playbook isn't universally correct. If you are an active tech employee, live in a high-tax state, or are already retired, the math changes. Here is what you should do instead. [Read Section 7: When Standard Advice is Wrong]

The 30-Day Plan: You have to fix this yourself. Your plan sponsor won't do it for you. We give you an exact 4-week calendar to audit your accounts, redirect your 401(k), and rebalance your IRA without triggering a massive tax bill. [Read Section 8: The 30-Day Plan]

The Quiet Payoff: This won't protect you from a general market crash. But it protects you from the specific damage of a concentrated bet unwinding. Here is what happens when market leadership finally broadens. [Read Section 9: The Quiet Payoff]

The default setting of the financial system right now is to compound your risk.

Doing nothing is an active choice.

Fruity Vapes

The FDA approved fruit-flavored e-cigarette pods from Glas Inc., the first authorization beyond tobacco and menthol flavors. Authorized flavors include mango, blueberry, classic menthol, and fresh menthol.

Glas’s devices limit youth access via age verification and smartphone pairing. The FDA now authorizes 45 e-cigarette products amidst ongoing efforts to balance adult smoker alternatives with youth protections.

President Trump urged expedited approval, citing appeal to young MAGA voters. Commissioner Makary initially hesitated over youth risks but reversed course under political and industry pressure.

Public health groups remain cautious, warning the move may increase youth vaping. The White House supports Makary’s leadership and cites “Gold Standard Science” backing the decision.

How do you feel about the FDA approving fruity flavored vape pods?

Project Freedom Paused

President Trump paused "Project Freedom," a US effort to escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz, to allow time for a potential deal with Iran. The strait remains largely closed due to an Iranian blockade.

The US continues its naval blockade of Iranian ports but has ended offensive operations, shifting to defensive posture only. The conflict has caused a 50% rise in US gasoline prices.

The UAE reported missile and drone attacks from Iran, which Tehran denies. Iranian officials warned the current situation is unsustainable.

The US plans to resume talks with Iran, involving Pakistan's mediation and discussions with China’s President Xi Jinping.

Hiring Rebound

U.S. hiring rose in March 2026 with 178,000 jobs added and a 3.5% hiring rate, the fastest in two years. Job openings fell slightly to 6.87 million, with the openings-to-unemployed ratio at 0.95.

Layoffs increased by 153,000, mainly in professional and business services. Hiring gains were notable in transportation, accommodation, retail, financial activities, and healthcare.

The quits rate rose to 2.0%, showing modest worker confidence. However, fuel prices surged over 50% due to the Iran war, risking consumer spending and hiring growth.

Long-term unemployment increased to 25%. The Fed held interest rates steady. The labor market stabilizes but faces headwinds from energy costs and geopolitical uncertainty.

Do falling job openings despite increased hiring suggest a positive or negative trend for the economy?

Gut Switch Uncovered

Scientists discovered that blocking Signal Two in the gut increases RORγt+ regulatory T cells, which reduce inflammation, reversing previous beliefs that Signal Two activation was necessary.

In preclinical models, blocking Signal Two cut gut inflammation. The drug abatacept, which blocks Signal Two, failed in 2012 IBD trials because patients lacked RORγt+ antigen-presenting cells (APCs) needed to induce immune tolerance.

Researchers suggest abatacept might be effective if RORγt+ APCs are restored or in patients in remission retaining these cells.

This insight offers new treatment paths for inflammatory bowel disease, food allergies, cancer immunotherapy side effects, and chronic inflammatory disorders affecting millions.

Do you find it surprising that blocking an immune system signal (Signal Two) can reduce inflammation instead of increasing it?

Magnesium’s Fat Break

Researchers identified a drug blocking magnesium entry into mitochondria, preventing weight gain in mice on a high-fat, high-sugar diet.

Mice lacking gene MRS2 stayed lean for a year despite normal diet and activity, showed improved sugar and fat metabolism, and white fat “browning.”

They avoided fatty liver, fibrosis, enlargement, tumors, and metabolic syndrome. CPACC, a drug candidate, mimics this effect, reducing weight gain and improving liver markers after six weeks.

Excess mitochondrial magnesium slows energy burning; reducing it limits fat production by lowering citrate. Related findings show reduced magnesium uptake eases vascular disease in rats. Human-safe, targeted drugs require further development for obesity, fatty liver, diabetes, and heart disease.

Would you support using a drug that alters cellular magnesium levels if it showed significant benefits against fatty liver disease?
