One Shark Missed Billions… Another Saw This Coming

Imagine turning down Uber at a valuation of $10 million, only to watch it go public at over $80 billion.

That’s exactly what happened to Mark Cuban… a 799,900% return, gone.

But original Shark Tank investor Kevin Harrington built his career doing the opposite: spotting asymmetric opportunities before they go mainstream.

Like Uber turned vehicles into income-generating assets, Mode Mobile is turning smartphones into income streams.

They were named the #1 fastest-growing software company by Deloitte and have already helped their users earn and save over $1B.

Kevin Harrington invested early.

And at just $0.52/share, you can still get in before their potential IPO.

Potential Uber return for Marc Cuban does not take into account dilution.

The Deloitte rankings are based on submitted applications and public company database research, with winners selected based on their fiscal-year revenue growth percentage over a three-year period in 2023.

Ballot Fight

The Trump administration asked the Supreme Court to let new mail-in voting rules take effect.

Trump’s March 31 executive order would have the Postal Service propose ballot rules and Homeland Security compile state citizenship lists of adults. Mail ballots could be sent only to voters on those lists.

California-led lawsuits by 23 states and D.C. argue the order usurps state election powers.

A federal judge blocked the provisions for the Nov. 3, 2026, elections in those states, and the 1st Circuit refused to lift the block. The Court set a Monday deadline for responses.

Do you think requiring citizenship verification for mail ballots is a reasonable safeguard?

Warsh Breaks Cover

Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh launched five task forces to review communications, balance-sheet policy, data and measurement, productivity and labor, and the inflation framework.

He told Fed officials the groups will tackle big questions, not preserve old habits. Markets now see a possible surprise rate hike this week, with swaps implying about a 40% chance of a quarter-point move and fully pricing one by September.

Warsh has reinforced the 2% inflation target and wants less forward guidance, more data-driven decisions.

Separately, private credit is under scrutiny as direct lending reaches about $2 trillion, with heavy exposure to software loans and recent declines in major BDCs.

Should the Fed keep its 2% inflation target even if it means more short-term volatility?

Powder Endgame

Johnson & Johnson offered $5.5 billion to settle talc lawsuits tied to ovarian cancer claims, potentially covering 69,000 to 76,000 cases and nearly all remaining talc litigation against it.

The deal needs support from firms representing 95% of ovarian cancer claimants. J&J would pay up to $3 billion in 2027, with no further payments before 2028.

The company stopped U.S. talc baby powder sales in 2020 and later ended global talc sales.

It denies talc caused cancer and has fought the claims in trials and three failed bankruptcy attempts.

Should Johnson & Johnson’s $5.5 billion talc settlement be approved as a fair resolution?

Little Known RMD Strategy Allowed by the IRS

For investors with $1M+ in retirement accounts, the tax code allows specific strategies that can reduce your tax exposure once RMDs begin—but only if used before then.

The window is open for anyone within ten years of 73. A fiduciary advisor can review which may apply, at no cost.

Vaccine Pressure

Trump is pressing HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to study vaccines and autism and to reduce childhood vaccinations.

At a May lunch, Trump asked why Kennedy was not doing more and said he had “the yips.”

Trump signed an executive order to cut recommended childhood vaccines from 17 diseases to 11, but a federal judge blocked the plan after finding the advisory process flawed and some panel appointees unlawful.

Trump also wants separate MMR shots, though scientists say there’s no evidence linking MMR to autism. Autism diagnoses rose from about 1 in 150 children in 2000 to 1 in 31 in 2022.

Do you think the current childhood vaccine schedule includes some shots that are not necessary for most children?

T Cells Recharged

Researchers found MEK helps drive T cell exhaustion by pushing cancer-fighting T cells to spend energy on making cytotoxic proteins rather than sustaining activity.

In animal models, blocking MEK let T cells multiply more, use less energy and stay active longer.

The finding could extend the effect of immunotherapies, including checkpoint inhibitors, CAR T, tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte therapy and bispecific antibodies.

The approach may work best in patients with large tumors or few tumor-targeting immune cells. Because FDA-approved MEK inhibitors already exist, human testing could begin sooner.

Should cancer treatment focus more on preserving T cell stamina than on maximizing T cell aggression?

Chip Drop

Asian chip stocks sold off sharply after another weak U.S. session. SK Hynix fell more than 13%, Samsung Electronics over 12%, and Tokyo Electron nearly 11%; Kioxia plunged more than 18% and LG Innotek nearly 18%.

Taiwan’s TSMC dropped 2.9%. South Korea’s Kospi fell as much as 10.7%, triggering a 20-minute halt. U.S. chip shares also slid Monday.

The rout came even as China’s CXMT debuted in Shanghai, jumping 466% on its first day after raising 57.92 billion yuan ($8.6 billion) for DRAM research and factory expansion.

Do you think the recent chip stock selloff is a rational market correction?
