Trump Terminates All Trade Talks with Canada

President Trump ended all trade talks with Canada citing a Canadian ad using edited audio of Ronald Reagan criticizing US tariffs. The Ronald Reagan Foundation called the ad misleading and is considering legal action.

Trump defended tariffs as vital to US security and economy, despite 85% of US-Canada trade being tariff-free under USMCA. The move follows Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney’s unsuccessful attempt to gain tariff relief on October 7. Ontario Premier Doug Ford created the ad.

The US Supreme Court will soon rule on the legality of Trump’s tariff policies. Experts warn that halted talks may disrupt supply chains.

Trump Pardons Binance Founder

Trump pardoned Changpeng Zhao, Binance’s founder, who served four months in prison for money laundering and whose company paid a $4.3 billion fine for sanctions violations.

NBA Gambling Scandal

Thirty-four people, including NBA coach Chauncey Billups and guard Terry Rozier, were arrested in a federal probe into Mafia-linked gambling schemes.

Rozier and others ran illegal NBA betting operations from March 2023 to March 2024, using insider information to influence at least seven games, with players purposely exiting matches to affect outcomes.

Billups led rigged underground poker games in Las Vegas and New York, cheating victims of over $7 million through high-tech devices. Both face wire fraud and money laundering charges with sentences up to 20 years.

Former player Damon Jones and tech supplier Shane Hennen were also charged. The investigation highlights corruption risks in professional sports amid expanding legal betting markets.

Brother Wang Arrested

Zhi Dong Zhang, a Chinese fentanyl trafficker known as "Brother Wang," was arrested in Cuba after escaping house arrest in Mexico.

He faces U.S. charges for running a drug network smuggling over 2,000 pounds of cocaine, nearly 4,000 pounds of fentanyl, and 1,300 pounds of methamphetamines into the U.S. since 2016.

Zhang’s network worked with Mexico’s Sinaloa and Jalisco New Generation cartels, laundering at least $20 million through shell companies. Mexican and Cuban authorities are negotiating his extradition.

The arrest follows increased U.S. pressure on Mexico and China amid a fentanyl overdose crisis. U.S. military strikes continue against drug trafficking vessels, though most fentanyl enters via land routes.

Exercise Rewires Your Body and Heart

New research reveals exercise rewires the body at molecular and neural levels. A 2025 review found physical activity activates thousands of molecules that coordinate metabolism and immunity, potentially preventing heart disease, obesity, and diabetes.

Separately, aerobic training in rats altered heart-nerve clusters asymmetrically: the right stellate ganglion quadrupled neuron numbers, while left-side neurons nearly doubled in size. These changes lowered resting heart rates from 314 to 280 bpm without affecting blood pressure.

This nerve remodeling may inform treatments for heart rhythm disorders and angina. Human studies are needed to confirm findings. Together, the research highlights exercise as a biological intervention reshaping metabolic pathways and heart control nerves.

Civet Poop Coffee

Kopi luwak coffee is made from beans eaten and excreted by wild Asian palm civets. These beans fetch $600–$1,300 per pound, compared to $2.50 for regular Robusta.

Researchers found civet coffee beans larger and higher in fat, especially caprylic and capric acid methyl esters, linked to unique flavor and dairy-like aroma. Protein and caffeine levels were similar, with slightly lower acidity due to fermentation in the civet’s gut, influenced by bacteria like Gluconobacter.

Most civet feces containing beans were found on elevated sites. Ethical concerns remain over caged civet production. The global kopi luwak market is projected to exceed $11 billion by 2032. Artificial fermentation may replicate these profiles sustainably.
