China’s Economic “Fortress”
Under Xi Jinping, China has invested $250 billion annually in industrial policy since 2019. This effort has focused on high-end manufacturing. China now controls over 50% of global shipbuilding, up from just 5% in 1999.
Industry support for EVs has increased from $15 billion in 2019 to $45 billion in 2023. In 2024, 11 million electric and plug-in hybrid cars were sold. China also flipped from a $40 billion trade deficit in chemicals in 2020 to a $34 billion export surplus in 2024.
China imports 105 million tons of soybeans annually from the US, up 21% since 2019. Additionally, domestic semiconductor production meets only 30% of demand, with imports nearing $400 billion last year.
Xi’s “Made in China 2025” initiative is a quest for self-reliance. It prioritizes ten sectors including electric vehicles (EVs), robotics, and aerospace.

Gaza Resettlement Plan
President Donald Trump met with Jordan's King Abdullah II at the White House. Trump urged Abdullah to accept Palestinian refugees from Gaza as part of a plan to redevelop the area.
He proposed emptying Gaza's 2.3 million residents, asserting US control and transforming it into a tourist destination like the "Riviera of the Middle East." There are 2 million Palestinians already in Jordan.
Abdullah opposed this idea, emphasizing Jordan's commitment against the displacement of Palestinians. He suggested that Jordan could accept "right away" 2,000 sick children from Gaza but rejected large-scale resettlement.
Trump hinted at leveraging US aid, which amounts to approximately $1.45 billion annually, to persuade Jordan and Egypt to accept refugees.

Ukraine's Rare Earths Could Change the Game
Ukraine is seeking a deal with the US for military aid in exchange for access to its reserves of rare earth elements. President Trump demands $500 billion worth, claiming the US has invested "hundreds of billions" in support.
Ukraine controls some of Europe’s largest reserves of lithium, approximately 500,000 tons, crucial for batteries. Additionally, Ukraine has titanium reserves accounting for 7% of the global total.
However, around 40% of these resources are inaccessible due to Russian occupation, hindering potential development.
Ukraine's mineral industry constituted 6.1% of its GDP and 30% of its exports in 2021. The European Commission identified Ukraine as a potential supplier for 20 critical raw materials.

Paris AI Action Summit
During the AI Action Summit in Paris, the US and the UK did not sign the communique, which 60 countries (including China and India) endorsed, calling for "open" and "inclusive" AI development.
Vice President JD Vance warned that heavy regulations in Europe could stifle AI growth. He stated that excessive rules could "kill a transformative industry." Vance criticized the EU's Digital Services Act and GDPR as burdensome for smaller companies.
French President Emmanuel Macron emphasized the need for regulation to build trust in AI. Additionally, he announced €50 billion in public support for European AI projects.

2,400 New JFK Assassination Records Discovered
The FBI has found 2,400 new records related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. This discovery comes after President Donald Trump signed an executive order directing the release of files associated with JFK, Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr.
These records, totaling 14,000 pages, were previously unrecognized and had not been submitted for official review. The FBI will transfer them to the National Archives as part of the ongoing declassification process.
Since the 1992 JFK Records Act, over 5 million pages related to the assassination have been made public, though about 3,000 files remain undisclosed in whole or part.
Experts suggest these newly found records might not definitively clarify controversial theories surrounding JFK's assassination. Nonetheless, there is intense public interest in the full disclosure of these historical documents.

Teleportation in Quantum Computers
Researchers at Oxford University achieved teleportation of logical gates between quantum computers. The experiment involved transferring quantum information over a distance of two meters.
The teleportation results showed an 86% similarity to the original spin state. This enables interactions between different quantum systems. This is the first time quantum logic gates have been teleported.
The research indicates a move toward a possible "quantum internet," offering ultra-secure communications through quantum entanglement.
