El Mencho Down
Mexican special forces killed Nemesio “El Mencho” Oseguera, leader of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), in a raid in Jalisco.
El Mencho controlled major drug trafficking, including cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl, with a $15 million U.S. bounty. The raid involved heavy gunfire, resulting in four cartel deaths and three soldier injuries.
Authorities seized weapons and armored vehicles. U.S. intelligence aided the operation. Following his death, CJNG launched violent reprisals, blocking highways and disrupting cities like Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta, causing flight cancellations.
CJNG rivals the Sinaloa cartel and expanded after crackdown on the latter. El Mencho’s death may trigger cartel power struggles and instability.

You think you know what the big money is doing. You probably don’t. Not really.
I’m talking about the kind of intel that moves markets. The stuff you won’t find scrolling Twitter.
Take this one. An executive at a $1.7 Trillion FAANG giant. He just dumped $14.3 million in shares.
This wasn’t some routine sale. He actually built up a massive position over the last 90 days.
Then he reversed course. All in one week. What does that tell you about a near-term ceiling.
Meanwhile, two C-suite executives at a prominent social media company. Both started selling shares the exact same week. Totaling nearly $1.5 million.
That kind of coordinated selling is rarely a coincidence. It signals a shared view on valuations.
We also track a major tech giant significantly upping their lobbying spend in Washington. That’s a hint at future regulatory plays.
And new private capital flowing into AI startups. Including one firm raising $25M for some potentially sensitive government work.
This is where the big players are quietly de-risking. And where they are building new positions.
We break it all down inside.
Trump Raises Global Tariffs
President Trump raised global tariffs from 10% to 15%, replacing previously imposed tariffs invalidated by a 6-3 Supreme Court ruling that found he exceeded authority under the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act.
The 15% tariffs take effect immediately under Section 122 of the Trade Act of 1974, allowing temporary imposition for 150 days before seeking congressional approval. Trump plans to pursue longer-term tariffs under Section 301.
Most US imports, excluding critical minerals, metals, and pharmaceuticals, face the new duty; separate tariffs on steel, aluminum, lumber, and autos remain.
Trade deals with the UK, China, South Korea, and the EU remain intact, though the EU may delay ratification. The ruling may open refunds on $130 billion previously collected tariffs.

Mar-a-Lago Shooting
21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin tried to breach Mar-a-Lago’s north gate carrying a shotgun and a red petrol canister.
Secret Service and Palm Beach deputies ordered him to drop his weapons; he dropped the canister but raised the shotgun, prompting agents to fatally shoot him. No officers were injured.
Trump and Melania were in Washington; no family members were at Mar-a-Lago. Martin was reported missing from North Carolina two days earlier. The FBI leads the investigation into his motive and weapon acquisition.
This follows past assassination attempts on Trump in 2024. Security remains tight, with ongoing concerns about politically motivated violence in the U.S.

Northeast Blizzard
A 2026 blizzard hit the U.S. Northeast, with 41 million under warnings from Maryland to Maine. Cities like New York, Boston, and Philadelphia received 1–2 feet of snow; NYC could see 28 inches.
Winds reached 70 mph. New York City imposed a travel ban, closed schools, and restricted roads. States including New Jersey and Massachusetts declared emergencies.
Power outages affected over 33,000 customers in New Jersey and Virginia. Around 3,900 flights were canceled, especially at JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark airports. Public transit shut down early.
Connecticut and Rhode Island issued travel bans. Snowfall rates reached 2-4 inches per hour with near-whiteout conditions. The storm, a rapid “weather bomb,” is the worst NYC blizzard in nine years, disrupting the region through Monday.

Moon Mission Delayed Again
NASA’s Artemis II Moon rocket faces a new delay due to a helium system issue affecting engine purging and fuel tank pressurization.
After fixing hydrogen fuel leaks, the rocket must return to the assembly building for repairs, delaying the launch beyond the original March 6 date.
NASA aims for an April launch but faces a tight schedule due to limited launch opportunities. The rocket will be transported four miles across Kennedy Space Center for repairs.
Four astronauts, including one Canadian, remain on standby for the mission, which will be the first crewed lunar orbit since Apollo missions (1968-1972).

Epstein-Barr Virus Blockers
Researchers developed fully human monoclonal antibodies targeting Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) proteins gp350 and gp42 using transgenic mice.
One antibody against gp42 fully protected humanized mice from EBV infection; another against gp350 offered partial protection.
EBV infects 95% of people and is linked to cancers and diseases, posing high risk for transplant patients who are immunocompromised, especially children without prior immunity.
The antibodies could prevent EBV-related post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorder (PTLD), a fast-growing lymphoma. Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center filed patents and plans safety tests in healthy volunteers, followed by clinical trials in transplant and immunocompromised patients, aiming to develop antibody therapy for EBV.
