Trump Increases Pressure on Iran
The Pentagon is preparing to deploy a second aircraft carrier strike group, likely the USS George H.W. Bush, to the Middle East amid rising U.S.-Iran tensions. The USS Abraham Lincoln is already in the region.
Deployment could happen within two weeks, pending President Trump's order, which has not been issued yet. This buildup coincides with increased U.S. pressure over Iran's nuclear program.
Trump met with Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu on February 11, 2026, discussing Iran negotiations and leaving military options open if talks fail.
The U.S. has also bolstered military assets in the region, including warships, air defenses, and fighter jets. The Navy and Pentagon declined to comment.

Listen, you’re being lied to.
Every time you step on a scale and check your BMI, you’re playing a 200-year-old losing game. BMI is a "vanity metric" that’s basically a coin flip for health.
The real secret? Muscle isn’t just for looking good at the beach. It’s actually your body’s largest metabolic organ—a massive chemical factory that talks to your brain, nukes your blood sugar, and acts as your "longevity bank account."
But here’s the scary part: there’s a silent epidemic called Sarcopenia that’s literally rotting people from the inside out starting in their 30s. If you aren't tracking your "muscle-span," you’re staring down a 12-year "morbidity gap"—that's a decade plus of being alive but completely broken.
I just dropped a massive deep dive on Muscle-Centric Medicine. We’re talking about the $40 billion economic shift, the "leucine trigger" for eternal youth, and why your grip strength is a better predictor of death than your blood pressure.
The smart money is moving into "Mus-Tech" right now. Don't be the person who figures this out when it's too late to fix.
January Jobs Report
The US added 130,000 jobs in January, led by 82,000 healthcare positions, which comprised over half of the gains.
The unemployment rate dropped to 4.3%, and wages rose 0.4% monthly, exceeding forecasts. Construction added 33,000 jobs, while government lost 42,000.
Outside healthcare, government, and leisure, sectors like retail, manufacturing, tech, and financial services have shed jobs since 2023. Job openings fell sharply to fewer than 0.9 per unemployed worker, down from two in 2022, signaling weaker labor demand and slower wage growth, projected below 3% in 2026.
Healthcare expansion reflects demographic shifts and masked an overall payroll decline of 7,000 without it. Labor softness may prompt more Federal Reserve rate cuts.

SAVE America Act
The House passed the SAVE America Act 218-213, requiring proof of citizenship to register and photo ID for federal voting.
It mandates states share voter rolls with Homeland Security for verification and adds ID requirements for mail-in ballots. The bill allows private lawsuits against officials registering voters without citizenship proof and permits investigations or deportations of noncitizens on rolls.
Only one Democrat supported it; others and voting rights groups argue it risks disenfranchising millions lacking IDs or citizenship documents. Senate passage is uncertain due to filibuster concerns; key Republican senators oppose or have reservations.
The bill builds on a 2025 version, expanding federal voter ID and verification rules.

Instagram Trial
Instagram head Adam Mosseri testified in a Los Angeles trial claiming social media apps cause youth mental health issues. Mosseri distinguished “problematic use” from addiction, citing Instagram use of 16 hours daily as problematic but not addictive.
The lawsuit involves plaintiff "KGM," alleging Instagram’s features like infinite scroll encourage addiction and harm mental health. Meta denies Instagram caused KGM’s struggles, citing prior issues.
Mosseri revealed internal debates over face-altering filters due to mental health concerns, resulting in a "focused ban." The case also includes YouTube, TikTok, and Snap; TikTok and Snap settled pre-trial.
Thousands of related lawsuits claim social media harms children. The trial could reshape platform safety practices.

HPV Cancer Vaccines
Northwestern scientists improved an HPV cancer vaccine by altering how the antigen peptide is arranged on spherical nucleic acids (SNAs). Positioning the antigen on the SNA surface via its N-terminus boosted interferon-gamma production from CD8 T cells up to eightfold.
In humanized mice, this design slowed tumor growth and extended survival; patient tumor samples treated with it showed 2-3 times increased cancer cell destruction. The enhancement came solely from structural changes, not new ingredients or dosage.
Led by Chad Mirkin, this "structural nanomedicine" approach is in clinical trials for multiple cancers. Future plans include using AI to optimize vaccine structures, potentially improving efficacy and reducing toxicity for HPV-related cancers.

Ultra-Thin Crystalline Membranes
Researchers developed ultra-thin crystalline membranes called POMbranes with fixed 1-nanometer pores, enabling separation of molecules differing by 100 to 200 Daltons—unmatched by typical polymer membranes.
Made from stable polyoxometalate clusters, these membranes maintain performance and flexibility across harsh industrial conditions and varying pH levels. They operate at nearly 10 times the efficiency of existing filtration technologies.
Applications include textile wastewater treatment in India, reducing freshwater use and chemical discharge, and pharmaceutical manufacturing, lowering energy consumption during purification.
The membranes mimic aquaporin protein channels, allowing scalable, eco-friendly production. This advance promises more efficient, durable industrial filtration, enhancing water reuse and energy savings in multiple sectors.
