NATO Shift
Europe is preparing a "European NATO" plan to bolster defense if the U.S. reduces its NATO role, with Germany expanding military involvement.
The plan increases European command, air and missile defense, reinforcements in Poland and the Baltics, and accelerates production of advanced military gear, including hypersonic missiles. France and Britain may enhance nuclear and intelligence capabilities to partly offset U.S. support.
Separately, Europe is forming a coalition led by the U.K. and France to secure the Strait of Hormuz post-Iran conflict, excluding the U.S.
The mission focuses on mine clearance and naval escorts, aiming to ensure safe shipping and regional trade, likely requiring UN approval and German parliamentary consent.

Trump vs Pope
President Trump and Pope Leo XIV clash publicly over the Iran war and Middle East conflicts. Pope Leo has urged ceasefire and dialogue, condemning violence and rejecting religious justifications for war.
Trump criticized the pope as “weak,” cited 42,000 Iranian protester deaths, and called Iran’s nuclear ambitions unacceptable. Tensions rose after Trump posted, then deleted, an AI image depicting himself in a Jesus-like form.
VP JD Vance sided with Trump, questioning the pope’s peace stance. Pope Leo, with strong U.S. approval ratings, remains firm despite Trump’s approach, which risks alienating Catholic voters.
Italy's political leaders back the pope, condemning Trump’s attacks.

Billionaire Space Showdown
Amazon will acquire Globalstar for $11.57 billion, gaining 31 low-Earth orbit satellites and mobile satellite services spectrum to launch direct-to-device (D2D) smartphone connectivity by 2028.
The deal offers Globalstar shareholders $90 per share or equivalent Amazon stock; 58% of votes have approved, with closing expected in 2027 after regulatory approval.
Amazon plans 3,200 satellites by 2029 but remains behind SpaceX, which operates over 10,000 Starlink satellites and leads launch capacity. Globalstar supports Apple’s Emergency SOS satellites; Apple owns 20%.
Blue Origin’s New Glenn rocket readies more launches, and its TeraWave constellation targets 5,400 satellites. SpaceX develops deep-space Starship and AI satellite constellations, intensifying the satellite internet and space infrastructure race.

You spend 40 years building wealth for your kids.
Then a judge hands half of it to an ex-in-law you can't stand.
It happens every single day. It’s called the "Wealth Hijack."
Most people think they are safe. They have a will. They have a revocable trust. They even made their kid sign a prenup.
Spoiler alert: Divorce lawyers eat standard prenups for breakfast. One wrong bank deposit, and your family's money is legally theirs.
Right now, $124 trillion is changing hands in the Great Wealth Transfer. Family lawyers know this. They aren't just fighting over a couple’s joint checking account anymore. They are actively targeting your legacy.
But the ultra-wealthy don't lose their money in divorce court. Why?
They don't use standard trusts. They use a "Bloodline Fortress" featuring a "Floating Spouse Provision."
The exact second an in-law files for divorce, a legal trapdoor opens. They get absolutely nothing.
I just published a deep dive on exactly how this legal siphon works—and the exact script you need to give your lawyer to stop it.
Read the deep dive here before your kid’s next anniversary.
China’s Export Bans
China may limit exports of solar panel manufacturing equipment to the U.S., affecting Tesla and other American companies building solar factories. China produces over 80% of global solar components and hosts the top 10 equipment suppliers.
Tesla plans to produce 100 gigawatts of solar panels in the U.S. by 2028 and is negotiating a $2.9 billion equipment purchase from Chinese suppliers like Suzhou Maxwell Technologies.
Suzhou Maxwell faces regulatory review, especially on advanced HJT technology.
Export curbs would expand China’s controls following rare earth restrictions and could disrupt U.S. solar plans, challenge Tesla’s goals, and escalate trade tensions ahead of a planned Xi-Trump summit.

Beef vs. Chicken?
A randomized controlled trial with 24 overweight or obese adults with prediabetes compared metabolic effects of eating 6 to 7 ounces daily of beef versus poultry over two 28-day periods.
Researchers measured pancreatic β-cell function, insulin sensitivity, blood sugar control, and inflammation. Results showed no differences between beef and poultry diets in these markers.
The study suggests moderate unprocessed beef intake does not worsen metabolic risk factors compared to poultry in prediabetic individuals. Limitations include the small sample size and short study duration.
Funded by the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association but conducted independently, the research calls for longer-term studies with larger groups to confirm findings.

Vitamin D Toxicity
Vitamin D is essential for calcium absorption, immune support, and metabolism, with 90% normally obtained from sunlight.
Excess intake can cause hypercalcemia, leading to kidney stones, bone issues, nausea, fatigue, muscle weakness, and, rarely, kidney failure or fatal bleeding. From 2000-2014, the US reported over 25,000 vitamin D toxicity cases, rising 1600% from 2005-2011, often in children and teens; no deaths but five serious outcomes.
High vitamin D may increase fall risks in older adults. Doctors recommend 600-800 IU daily, not exceeding 4,000 IU without advice.
Denmark recalled a supplement with 75 times the dose that harmed 20 children. Experts advise getting vitamin D primarily from fortified foods before supplements.
