Trump and Putin Agree on Partial Ceasefire

President Trump and Russian President Putin agreed to halt attacks on energy infrastructure in Ukraine for 30 days.

However, Putin did not endorse a broader 30-day ceasefire that the US and Ukraine proposed. The Kremlin emphasized that foreign military aid to Ukraine must stop first.

Ukrainian President Zelenskyy is open to the energy ceasefire but firmly rejected any halt in military support from allies.

Trump and Putin discussed future negotiations concerning a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea. They plan to exchange 175 prisoners of war today.

Is this partial ceasefire a genuine move toward long-term negotiations or merely a stalling tactic?

Stranded NASA Astronauts Return

NASA astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams returned to Earth after a prolonged mission of 286 days aboard the International Space Station (ISS).

Initially launched on June 5, 2024, for an eight-day test flight aboard Boeing’s Starliner, their return was delayed due to multiple technical issues with the spacecraft.

After transferring to a SpaceX capsule, they splashed down off Florida’s Gulf Coast at approximately 5:57 PM ET.

During their time in space, Wilmore and Williams completed 4,576 orbits around Earth, traveling 121 million miles (195 million kilometers).

Does Boeing’s failure to deliver a reliable spacecraft undermine trust in private-sector space travel?

US Homebuilding and Manufacturing Surge

In February, US single-family housing starts surged by 11.4% to a seasonally adjusted rate of 1.108 million units.

This increase came as winter disruptions eased, particularly in the Northeast and South. However, building permits dropped by 0.2% to a rate of 992,000 units.

Meanwhile, factory production grew by 0.9%, primarily driven by an 8.5% rise in motor vehicle output. Year-over-year, factory production grew by 0.7%.

Overall, manufacturing accounts for 10.3% of the economy.

Do you believe manufacturing should be a bigger part of the US economy?

GSSG for Heart Failure

Researchers found that oxidized glutathione (GSSG) may protect heart tissue, potentially offering new therapies for ischemic heart failure.

GSSG prevents ischemic sulfide catabolism and heart failure by modifying the dynamin-related protein 1 (Drp1) at cysteine 644, where S-glutathionylation occurs.

GSSG treatment improved myocardial function by inhibiting Drp1-mediated mitochondrial hyperfission, a cause of cellular senescence after hypoxia.

Proteins modified by GSSG show increased resilience against hypoxic stress, maintaining mitochondrial activity and structure.

The Infant Universe

Researchers from the Atacama Cosmology Telescope (ACT) have unveiled new images of the universe from just 380,000 years after the Big Bang.

These images reveal the cosmic microwave background (CMB) with unprecedented clarity, showcasing the universe's state at 13.8 billion years old.

With this clarity, scientists detected the movement of hydrogen and helium gas, unveiling the early conditions that led to the formation of stars and galaxies.

The observable universe contains a mass equivalent to 1,900 zetta-suns. Only 100 zetta-suns are normal matter, 500 zetta-suns are dark matter, and 1,300 zetta-suns are dark energy.

Do you believe the universe had a definite beginning, like the Big Bang?
