Trump Targets Iran
President Trump imposed a 25% tariff on goods from countries trading with Iran, aiming to pressure Tehran amid ongoing anti-government protests that have killed at least 648 people.
Iran faces economic turmoil, including a 70% rise in food prices and currency collapse. The U.S. is considering military options like missile strikes and cyberattacks but prioritizes diplomacy.
Iran’s foreign minister stated readiness for war despite openness to talks. The U.S. urged Americans in Iran to leave. China condemned the tariffs, pledging to protect its interests. Key Iranian trade partners include China, Iraq, UAE, Turkey, and India.
The tariffs coincide with a Supreme Court review of Trump’s broader trade policies.

Google’s Gemini to Power Siri
Apple is partnering with Google to power Siri’s AI overhaul using Google’s Gemini models, launching a new Siri version later this year and continuing in 2026.
Apple may pay around $1 billion annually for access to Gemini and Google Cloud, building on prior deals tied to Google as iPhone’s default search engine. Apple has tested other AI models like OpenAI’s ChatGPT but chose Gemini for its capabilities.
Despite earlier delays, Apple aims for a “more personalized Siri” upgrade in spring 2026. Google’s AI outperformed ChatGPT in 2025, boosting Alphabet’s market value above Apple’s.
Google Cloud deals topped $1 billion through Q3 2025, highlighting growing collaboration in AI.

You check your 401(k). It’s up. You feel safe.
But here’s the cold truth: It’s a "Money Illusion".
The 60/40 portfolio—the strategy that carried us for forty years—is broken. In this new era of "Fiscal Dominance," bonds don't protect you anymore; they amplify the risk.
While you’re holding paper, the "Smart Money" has already left the building. Yale and major pension funds are aggressively shifting into Real Assets—infrastructure, farmland, and commodities.
Why? Because real assets have no counterparty risk. A farm produces food regardless of what the Fed does.
We just released a massive deep dive on building the Inflation Proof Portfolio. We break down the "40/30/30" model that institutional giants use to survive wealth destruction.
If you’ve spent decades building your wealth, don’t let a 3% inflation drip cut your purchasing power in half.
Senator Mark Kelly Sues Pentagon
Senator Mark Kelly sued Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on January 12, 2026, challenging his Pentagon censure for urging troops in a November 2025 video to disobey illegal orders.
The Pentagon’s censure, announced January 5, cited “conduct unbecoming an officer” and could lead to demotion and reduced retirement pay. Kelly argues the censure violates his First Amendment rights and seeks to block disciplinary actions, calling the punishment political and a threat to free speech by retired military members.
The censure occurred amid Pentagon leadership changes during President Trump’s second term. Kelly also criticized military firings and operations in Venezuela and the Caribbean. The Pentagon has not responded to requests for comment.

I just got my bloodwork back. My doctor said I was fine. After reading this deep dive, I realized "fine" just means "average," and average Americans die of heart disease.
If you are over 45, you are relying on diagnostics from the 1970s.
Standard lipid panels use the "Friedewald equation"—a 50-year-old math problem that estimates your risk. It fails constantly. Half of all heart attack victims have "optimal" LDL levels.
This report breaks down the "Advanced Protocol" you need to demand:
ApoB: Why counting the "boats" (particles) matters more than the "cargo" (cholesterol).
Lp(a): The genetic "sticky killer" found in 20% of people that statins do not touch.
Soft Plaque: Why a Calcium Score of 0 does not mean you are safe.

Trump’s New Affordability Push
President Trump has introduced policies to improve affordability, including a 10% cap on credit-card interest rates, banning large investors from buying single-family homes, and directing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to buy $200 billion in mortgage bonds to lower rates.
He proposes using tariff revenues to provide $2,000 payments to most Americans and aims to control Venezuelan oil to reduce prices. Gasoline and mortgage rates have declined recently.
Many proposals require Congressional approval and face implementation delays. Economists warn some measures, like the credit-card cap, could reduce credit availability and harm low-income borrowers.
Despite wage growth, inflation and living costs remain high. The administration expects tax refunds to support consumers ahead of the midterms.

Detect Crohn’s Disease Years Before Symptoms
Researchers at Sinai Health developed a blood test detecting immune reactions to flagellin, a gut bacteria protein, predicting Crohn’s disease up to 2.5 years before symptoms.
Testing 381 healthy relatives of Crohn’s patients, 77 developed the disease; 28 had elevated anti-flagellin antibodies. Strongest responses appeared in siblings, implicating shared environment.
The study builds on prior findings linking flagellin antibodies to Crohn’s risk. Part of the GEM Project tracking over 5,000 healthy relatives since 2008, the research suggests early immune responses may trigger Crohn’s.
Researchers are exploring a flagellin-targeting vaccine to prevent disease in high-risk individuals. Crohn’s cases, especially in children, have doubled since 1995.

Menopause Hormone Therapy
A review of over one million women found menopause hormone therapy (MHT) does not strongly impact dementia risk; one randomized trial noted a slight increase with estrogen-only therapy in women over 65.
The FDA plans to remove dementia warnings from hormone therapy products. MHT relieves menopause symptoms but carries small risks of blood clots and breast cancer.
A new protein injection (Shugoshin 1) reduced egg chromosome errors, potentially improving IVF success for older women; trials are planned.
A study of 15,000 twins found women with two to three children age slower biologically, while none or four-plus children link to faster aging; pregnancies between ages 24-38 associate with better aging.
