Good morning news friend! Discover today’s defining stories and the future they set in motion. 📰🌟

Most people think hitting their "number" means they’ve won the game.

They are wrong.

There is a silent assassin in retirement planning that destroys more legacies than taxes or inflation combined. It’s called Sequence of Returns Risk.

Here is the terrifying math: You can have a $2M portfolio, earn an "average" 6% return, and still run out of money in 15 years.

Why? Because "average" returns are a lie. The market doesn't care how much you have; it cares when you withdraw it.

I just went deep on the "Retirement Red Zone"—the critical 5-year window that statistically determines if you fly first class or outlive your money.

This breakdown exposes why the "4% Rule" is mathematically dead and details the exact "Bond Tent" strategy smart money uses to survive a crash.

This isn’t about getting rich. It’s about ensuring you stay rich.

Wall Street Retreats

The Dow dropped 600 points (1.2%) to 48,908.72, the S&P 500 fell 1.23% to 6,798.40, and Nasdaq declined 1.59% to 22,540.59.

Tech stocks led losses: Alphabet’s AI spending forecast rose to $185 billion, but shares slipped 0.5%; Qualcomm plunged over 8% after lowering forecasts; Peloton shares fell 11% post weak holiday results.

Bitcoin dropped below $64,000, down 13%; silver fell 16%, gold also declined. January layoffs hit 108,435 (largest since 2009); jobless claims rose to 231,000; job openings hit their lowest since 2020.

Despite this, Broadcom gained 1% and Wells Fargo raised Eli Lilly’s target after strong earnings. Inflation pressures persist above Fed targets.

TrumpRx Launch

President Trump launched TrumpRx.gov, offering discounts on over 40 medications, including insulin, fertility drugs, weight-loss treatments, and a Humira biosimilar.

The site directs users to pharmacies or manufacturers and features deals with 17 drugmakers like Pfizer, Eli Lilly, and Novo Nordisk, with Pfizer offering about 50% off.

Prices vary widely, from $6 for Cytomel to over $5,500 for some hormone treatments. TrumpRx targets uninsured patients and those whose insurance often excludes certain drugs but may lead insured users to pay more than their copays.

The platform uses coupon codes, prohibits direct insurance use, omits many costly cancer drugs, and faces scrutiny over transparency and potential conflicts linked to BlinkRx.

Do you believe TrumpRx will significantly lower overall prescription drug costs for most Americans?

Most of us rely on an annual physical to sleep well at night. But here is the terrifying truth: 50% of heart attack fatalities occur within hours of the first symptom, often before a patient can even seek help.

Even scarier? Half of the people hospitalized for heart attacks had "normal" cholesterol levels by standard guidelines.

I just went down the rabbit hole on modern cardiology, and I realized most of us are using a playbook from 1972. This deep dive exposes the "Illusion of Safety." We break down the "Widowmaker" phenomenon , the genetic "time bomb" called Lp(a) that 20% of the population carries unknowingly , and why a standard stress test often misses the lethal "soft plaque" waiting to rupture.

This isn’t just about living longer; it’s about ensuring your "healthspan" matches your lifespan.

Stop guessing with average care. Learn why your arteries might be aging decades faster than you are and the specific tests you need to demand.

Your health is your true legacy. Read this before your next check-up.

Nuclear Treaty Ends

The New START treaty limiting U.S. and Russian nuclear warheads expired after 15 years.

Trump rejected extending it, calling it poorly negotiated, and pushed for a new treaty including China, whose arsenal is growing rapidly. Russia offered a one-year extension, which the U.S. declined, though both agreed to observe terms during talks.

The treaty capped 1,550 warheads and 700 delivery systems per country and was the last legal restraint on their arsenals, holding 86% of global nukes. Military talks resumed after a pause since 2021.

China refuses trilateral talks, citing fairness concerns. Experts warn expiration risks a renewed arms race without formal controls.

Does the expiration of New START increase the risk of a new nuclear arms race?

Uber Hit with $8.5 Million Verdict

A federal jury in Phoenix awarded Jaylynn Dean $8.5 million after ruling Uber liable for a 2023 sexual assault by driver Hassan Turay.

Dean, 19, was raped after a ride ended early in a parking lot. The jury applied the apparent agency doctrine but rejected claims of Uber negligence, app defects, and denied punitive damages.

Turay, an independent contractor with no criminal record, passed 12 background checks. Uber disclosed over 5,000 sexual assault reports since 2019 and faces 3,000 similar lawsuits consolidated in California. Uber plans to appeal, challenging agency liability.

The verdict may influence Uber’s safety policies amid mounting legal exposure, with potential damages estimated over $500 million.

Is a driver’s clean record and high ratings sufficient to ensure passenger safety?

Tiny Llama Antibodies

Researchers identified llama-derived nanobodies that neutralize multiple coronaviruses by targeting the conserved S2 subunit of the spike protein, preventing the virus from changing shape and infecting cells.

These nanobodies work against SARS-CoV-1 and several SARS-CoV-2 variants. Lab tests showed small doses protect animals, and mutations in this region reduce viral infectivity, limiting escape.

Unlike standard antibodies targeting mutable sites, these nanobodies bind a stable, hidden region, offering broad and durable protection.

The findings support developing next-gen antibody treatments resilient to variant evolution. Funding was provided by the EU Horizon 2021 program and Exevir Bio BV.

How likely do you think llama-derived antibodies could become a widespread therapy for various coronavirus strains?

NASA’s Perseverance Rover

NASA’s Perseverance rover completed the first Mars drives planned entirely by AI on December 8 and 10, 2025, traveling 689 and 807 feet via AI-generated routes.

The system used vision-language models to analyze data and select safe waypoints, with engineers validating instructions using a rover digital twin. Communication delays from Mars, 140 million miles away, previously required humans to plan routes with waypoints about 330 feet apart.

This AI advances autonomy, enabling rovers to drive kilometers independently while identifying hazards like boulders and slopes. Managed by JPL and Caltech, Perseverance’s AI-driven navigation aims to boost mission efficiency and supports NASA’s goals for human presence on the Moon and Mars.

Is reducing human involvement in rover navigation a positive step for space exploration?
