Corporate Hiring Stalls in 2026
As 2026 nears, 66% of CEOs plan job cuts or no growth, with only one-third hiring amid economic uncertainty and AI adoption.
The 2025 U.S. unemployment rate reached 4.6%, driven by slow hiring or cuts in white-collar sectors like tech, with companies such as Amazon, Verizon, and Wells Fargo reducing staff. IBM sees fewer employee departures as workers avoid job changes.
AI is expected to reshape work, prompting reliance on retraining and attrition rather than new hires. Job openings remain weak in data analytics, software, marketing, and entertainment, while healthcare and construction grow.
Economists predict minimal hiring change and steady unemployment at 4.6% in 2026.

China’s War Games
China launched "Justice Mission-2025," large-scale military drills around Taiwan starting December 29, involving the army, navy, air force, and Rocket Force with live-fire exercises lasting 10 hours.
These are the sixth major exercises since 2022, covering five sea and air zones and focusing on maritime and aerial combat, port blockades, and deterrence. The drills respond to the U.S. announcing an $11.1 billion arms sale to Taiwan, the largest ever.
China’s defense ministry protested the sale and vowed forceful measures. The exercises follow heightened Chinese rhetoric on Taiwan and comments from Japan’s prime minister about possible military response to a Chinese attack on Taiwan.

You know the old playbook. Put 60% in stocks, 40% in bonds, and wait 30 years to get rich.
That playbook is burning.
Between 2020 and 2022, the "safe" 60/40 portfolio lost 16%. Bonds, which were supposed to be your airbag, actually crashed harder than stocks in some quarters.
But here is the stat that actually scares me: The stock market is running out of stocks. In 1996, there were over 7,000 public companies you could buy. Today? Fewer than 4,000. The "store" is half empty.
Meanwhile, the "Smart Money" (think Yale and the guys running $100B endowments) left the building years ago. They aren't buying the S&P 500. They are buying private equity, private credit, and assets that don't care what the Fed does on a Tuesday.
They’ve been capturing a "illiquidity premium" that has beaten the public market by 500 basis points annually for a quarter-century.
We just dropped a massive Deep Dive on exactly how this "Parallel Financial System" works. It covers:
Why the "Volatility Tax" is eating your compounding.
The "De-equitization" trend (where did all the companies go?).
How to build a "Fortress Portfolio" that mimics the top 1%.
Stop playing a game that broke in 2022.
Bomb Cyclone & Arctic Blast
A bomb cyclone winter storm is causing heavy snow, strong winds, and dangerous travel across the Midwest, Great Lakes, and Northeast. Nearly 10 million face winter storm warnings; almost 3 million have blizzard alerts.
Minnesota and surrounding states are hardest hit, with Lake Superior snowfall near 2 feet and winds up to 70 mph forecast in New York. Over 9,500 U.S. flights were delayed or canceled, including about 25% at Chicago O’Hare and Minneapolis airports.
New York and New Jersey declared emergencies; snowfall reached 6-10 inches upstate, and NYC received 4.3 inches. Temperatures have plunged, and many officials warn against travel due to life-threatening conditions and expected power outages.

In 1924, Otto Warburg discovered a dirty secret about cancer cells.
They don't burn energy like healthy cells. They ferment sugar. They are metabolic parasites.
He won a Nobel Prize for it. Then, modern medicine largely forgot it.
Instead of starving the disease, we built a system that waits for it to grow.
The cost of this amnesia is staggering. Standard screenings now miss 71% of cancers until symptoms appear.
By then, the survival rate crashes from 43% to 3%.
We are fixing the broken narrative.
Our latest Deep Dive, The Anti-Cancer Protocol, uncovers the metabolic and technological tools that turn the tables.
It covers the Warburg Effect, the new blood tests that see the invisible, and the off-label drugs that block the fuel supply.
Stop playing defense.
AI-Powered Scams Trap Hurried Travelers
Travel scammers use AI to impersonate airline agents, exploiting distracted travelers during holiday rush. These scams bypass Google ad filters, presenting fake customer-service lines that charge victims large fees for flight rebooking.
One traveler missed a Berlin flight and called a fraudulent service that answered immediately, a common red flag. The surge in AI-powered scams highlights new risks in travel booking.
Victims often fall prey due to urgency and confusion caused by delays. Travelers are urged to verify contact numbers carefully and avoid unfamiliar calls to prevent costly mistakes.

Antibody Awakens Immune System Against Pancreatic Cancer
Researchers discovered pancreatic tumors evade the immune system by coating integrin α3β1 with sialic acid, which binds immune receptor Siglec-10, suppressing immune response.
Northwestern University developed a monoclonal antibody that blocks this sugar shield, restoring immune activity and slowing tumor growth in mice. After screening thousands of antibodies over six years, this therapy is set for human safety and dosing trials, with availability expected in about five years. The antibody will be tested alongside chemotherapy and existing immunotherapies aiming for full remission.
Tests to identify patients whose tumors use this mechanism are in development. The approach may extend to other cancers like glioblastoma and immune-related diseases.

Safer Opioid Pain Relief
Opioids caused 68% of overdose deaths in 2024, with 88% from fentanyl and synthetic variants. Researchers discovered opioid receptors trigger reversible cellular reactions affecting pain relief and side effects.
New compounds favor this reverse reaction, enhancing analgesia without increasing respiratory risks at low doses. SR-17018, a previously identified compound, reduces pain without causing respiratory suppression or tolerance by keeping receptors open to natural pain relievers.
These findings offer a framework for developing safer opioids and could influence treatments for neuropsychiatric disorders involving receptors like serotonin 1A. The research, led by Dr. Laura M. Bohn and funded by NIH, may reshape opioid therapy and pain management.
