Spencer Rascoff co-founded Zillow, scaling it to a $16B valuation. But everyday investors couldn’t invest until the IPO, missing early gains. So he made sure that wasn’t the case with Pacaso. Pacaso has made $100M+ in gross profits by disrupting the $1.3T vacation home market. And unlike Zillow, you can invest while Pacaso is private.

Tragedy Strikes Mexico City

Mexico City officials Ximena Guzmán and José Muñoz were assassinated by gunmen on a motorcycle in the Moderna neighborhood. The attack occurred while they were parked, with Guzmán found dead inside the car and Muñoz on the pavement.

The motive is unclear, but analysts suggest organized crime may be involved, targeting Mayor Clara Brugada's administration. Homicides in Mexico City have increased in 2025. President Claudia Sheinbaum condemned the attack and pledged a thorough investigation.

Witnesses reported one attacker escaped into the metro, while the other fled on a motorcycle. Video footage is being reviewed to identify suspects.

Trump’s Golden Dome Defense Shield

President Trump announced the Golden Dome missile defense shield, projected to cost $175 billion and intended to protect against threats from China and Russia.

Led by General Michael Guetlein, the program aims for operational status by January 2029, despite skepticism about the timeline.

The initiative will utilize hundreds of satellites for missile detection and interception, addressing modern aerial threats. Funding issues persist, with an initial $25 billion allocated and total costs potentially reaching $831 billion over 20 years.

The program faces scrutiny from Democrats, particularly regarding SpaceX's involvement. The Golden Dome is inspired by Israel’s Iron Dome but aims to be more advanced.

Do you believe the $175 billion cost for the Golden Dome missile defense shield is justified?

Trump’s Tax Bill Showdown

President Trump’s tax bill is facing GOP resistance, primarily over the SALT deduction and cuts to safety-net programs.

The proposed legislation seeks to raise the SALT cap for joint filers from $10,000 to $30,000 and include a $62,000 deduction for single filers. Analysts warn it could increase the national deficit by $3.8 trillion over a decade.

Disputes could jeopardize House Speaker Mike Johnson's narrow majority, allowing only three defections. Democrats criticize the bill for favoring the wealthy while reducing support for low-income families.

Trump is pushing for quick consensus, aware that failure could damage his political standing before the midterms.

Do you believe the proposed tax bill will mainly benefit wealthy Americans or average citizens?

Supercharged Antibodies

Researchers have developed a new rigid antibody that enhances cancer immunotherapy. By modifying antibody shape and flexibility, they observed a stronger immune response in lab tests.

The team added disulfide bonds to create these superior variants, which better cluster immune cell receptors, leading to increased activation signals. This advancement may improve drug efficacy against cancer and other diseases.

The findings highlight the potential for this rigidity enhancement to apply to other molecules on immune cells. Experts view this progress as crucial for refining immunotherapy strategies to improve patient outcomes in cancer treatment.

Do you think that relying on technology like supercomputers in scientific research will lead to more reliable outcomes?

Bacterial Toxins and Early-Onset Colorectal Cancer

Researchers from UC San Diego found that the bacterial toxin colibactin may contribute to rising early-onset colorectal cancer rates.

Analyzing 981 cancer genomes, they discovered colibactin-related DNA mutations were 3.3 times more common in patients under 40 than in those over 70.

Colorectal cancer rates for individuals under 50 have doubled every decade for 20 years, potentially making it the leading cause of cancer deaths by 2030. Colibactin mutations can develop early in life, increasing cancer risk significantly.

The study underscores the need for more research into childhood exposure to colibactin and advocates for increased funding in cancer prevention efforts.

Do you think probiotics could be a viable solution to combat harmful bacteria like colibactin?
