Great Income Squeeze
Income investors face a new challenge as the era of easy, high-yield returns fades. Short-term US Treasury yields, which recently reached 5%, had offered safe, strong income.
However, the Federal Reserve's recent policy shifts suggest this environment is changing. The Federal Reserve plans a third consecutive rate cut in 2025, lowering rates to 3.50%-3.75%, with markets pricing an 87% chance. This follows yields on short-term Treasuries topping 5%, which benefited pensions, insurers, and endowments.
Internal Fed divisions are high, with up to five of 12 voters dissenting, amid political pressure from President Trump advocating for aggressive easing. Trump’s appointees favor rate cuts, while others prefer steady rates.
Analysts predict about 75 basis points of easing in total. Investors face a shrinking landscape of safe, high-yield income amid greater volatility and uncertainty in U.S. monetary policy.

SpaceX IPO
SpaceX plans an IPO in mid-to-late 2026, targeting over $30 billion raised and a $1.5 trillion valuation, rivaling Saudi Aramco’s 2019 record. Expected 2025 revenue is $15 billion, rising to $22–24 billion in 2026, primarily from Starlink satellite internet.
Elon Musk had indicated Starlink would list once revenue grows steadily. Proceeds may fund space-based data centers and chip purchases. Previous reports of a secondary share sale valuing SpaceX at $800 billion were denied by Musk.
The IPO’s timing depends on market conditions and could shift to 2027. This deal would mark a major milestone for space industry investments and challenge private tech giants’ market values.

I wasn't looking for alpha in the news. I was scanning obscure government filings—the places where the truth actually hides.
What I found was fascinating.
A team merging SpaceX propulsion engineers with top physicists is quietly building an "AI Scientist" capable of compressing years of R&D into days.
While the internet argues about chatbots, private capital is flooding into "hard science" and unglamorous government automation.
But there was a catch.
I also discovered a fund attempting to raise $1 billion with absolutely no track record.
The psychology of the market is shifting from "hype" to "infrastructure," and the distinction is expensive to miss.
The lesson is clear: if you wait for the headline, you’ve already missed the movement.
I couldn't look away, so I compiled the full Executive Briefing below. It separates the signal from the noise.
World’s First Social Media Ban
Australia banned social media use for under-16s starting December 10, 2025, requiring platforms like TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and X to block about one million users. Non-compliance risks fines up to A$49.5 million ($33 million).
Platforms use age verification methods such as ID uploads and behavior analysis. TikTok deactivated 200,000 accounts pre-launch. Prime Minister Albanese cited aims to reduce bullying, misinformation, and body image issues. Some teens lamented loss of social contact; others welcomed reduced screen time.
Advocates noted mental health benefits but warned of possible isolation for groups like queer teens. Before the ban, 86% of Australians aged 8-15 used social media. Other countries consider similar policies.

I was wrong.
When I opened this file, I expected a biology lesson.
Instead, I found the schematic for a "Second Brain" that controls your mood, your focus, and your long-term health.
It details a "quiet revolution" in science that is redefining mental wellness.
It reveals that 90% of your serotonin—the "happiness chemical"—is not made in your skull, but in your gut.
It maps out the "fiber-optic cable" (the Vagus nerve) that sends urgent messages from your stomach to your brainstem.
And it exposes the modern "saboteurs"—from antibiotics to sugar—that are severing this connection and fueling a mental health crisis.
This isn't just about digestion. It is about the biological root of your intuition.
I’ve left the full Deep Dive below. It will change how you view your next meal.
Nvidia’s H200 Chip Export
President Trump approved exports of Nvidia’s second-tier H200 AI chips to China, including sales to Huawei, with a 25% tariff, up from an initial 15%. Exports of Nvidia’s top-tier Blackwell chips remain banned to protect U.S. security. Chips from Taiwan will undergo U.S. security reviews before shipment.
Nvidia plans location verification software to prevent illegal chip exports, starting with Blackwell chips. U.S. authorities recently stopped attempts to smuggle $160 million of Nvidia chips to China.
Chinese authorities have questioned Nvidia on security risks, which the company denies. Nvidia’s shares rose 5% following the decision. Lawmakers warn exports may aid China’s military and surveillance capabilities.

Predict Alzheimer’s Years Ahead
Researchers found that enlarged perivascular spaces—clogged brain drainage channels visible on routine MRI scans—correlate with early Alzheimer’s markers before symptom onset.
The study of nearly 1,000 Asians showed these enlarged spaces associate with beta amyloid and tau protein buildup and correlate with four out of seven Alzheimer’s blood biomarkers more closely than white matter damage. This suggests clogged drainage channels could signal Alzheimer’s earlier than traditional indicators.
The findings highlight ethnic differences, as the apoE4 risk gene is less common in Asian dementia patients. The team plans longitudinal follow-up to confirm predictive value. This could expand MRI use for early Alzheimer’s diagnosis and intervention worldwide.

Genetic Roots of Gout
A genetic study of 2.6 million people, including 120,295 gout patients, identified 377 gene regions linked to gout, with 149 newly discovered. Researchers found genetics largely determine gout risk by affecting uric acid levels and immune response, outweighing diet and alcohol factors.
Gout results from immune attacks on uric acid crystals in joints, causing pain. The study challenges the lifestyle-based stigma around gout, which may prevent treatment. Preventive drugs lower uric acid and reduce symptoms. Most data were from Europeans and included some self-reported cases.
Findings may enable new treatments targeting immune responses. Researchers call for increased health resources as gout incidence rises globally.
