Naval Blockade of Venezuelan Oil Tankers
President Trump ordered a full naval blockade of sanctioned Venezuelan oil tankers, intensifying pressure on Nicolás Maduro amid a major U.S. military buildup in the Caribbean.
The blockade targets vessels involved in transporting Venezuelan oil, accused of funding drug trafficking and terrorism. Since December, tanker traffic has sharply declined, with over 10 million barrels stranded offshore.
The U.S. seized the tanker Skipper in early December and sanctioned six more ships and associated entities, exempting Chevron.
The blockade risks worsening food shortages in Venezuela and raises legal concerns, as naval blockades are often seen as acts of war without congressional authorization. The U.S. aims to oust Maduro and recover stolen assets.

Unemployment Hits 4-Year High
US employers added 64,000 jobs in November after a 105,000 loss in October, driven by federal cuts subtracting 162,000 jobs that month and 271,000 since January.
The unemployment rate rose to 4.6%, its highest since 2021, reflecting slower job growth and a larger labor force. Healthcare added 46,000 jobs, construction 28,000, while transportation and leisure sectors lost jobs.
Average hourly wages rose 0.1% in November, with a 3.5% annual increase barely outpacing inflation. Payroll revisions for August and September lowered job counts by 33,000.
The Federal Reserve cut rates to 3.5%-3.75% in December, with one rate cut expected in 2026, pending future labor data.

We just analyzed a Form D filing for Telos Biotech, a private venture raising capital for telomere extension therapy.
Usually, this data is useless to retail investors because the company is private. You can't buy in.
However, the filing reveals a direct link to a public stock:
The scientific co-founder is Dr. Jerry Shay.
He founded a major Nasdaq-listed biopharma company.
That public company is currently the only liquid vehicle for this specific longevity technology.
The "smart money" has already moved $2.25M into the private entity. The public proxy is still trading on open markets.
We have compiled the full data, including the public ticker and the warning list of "froth" stocks to avoid.
Tesla’s Autopilot Marketing
California’s DMV ruled Tesla’s Autopilot and Full Self-Driving marketing misleads consumers by implying full autonomy. A judge recommended suspending Tesla’s dealer and manufacturing licenses for 30 days.
The DMV delayed enforcement, giving Tesla 90 days to revise its advertising or face a 30-day sales suspension; the manufacturing suspension is stayed indefinitely. Tesla renamed its Full Self-Driving package to “Full Self-Driving (Supervised).”
Tesla faces a class-action lawsuit over deceptive marketing and multi-million-dollar settlements related to Autopilot crashes, including a $243 million verdict in Florida.
Despite regulatory and legal pressures, Tesla’s stock hit a record high, driven by investor optimism in its driverless technology and robotaxi plans.

Most people think a "normal" test result means they are healthy. It usually just means you aren't dying yet.
Standard labs derive "normal" ranges from the average of the sick population walking through their doors. We are grading health on a curve set by a declining demographic.
The data proves the flaw:
The Variance Trap: Testosterone thresholds can swing by 487% between labs. A "normal" label is often medically useless for optimization.
The "Survival" Standard: A HbA1c of 5.7% is considered safe. Real metabolic optimization requires < 5.1%.
The Global Crash: Testosterone levels have dropped ~1% annually since the 1980s. A 50-year-old today has less hormonal output than a 50-year-old in 1996.
You cannot manage what you measure with a broken ruler.
The Peak Performance Protocol shifts the focus from "Medicine 2.0" (treating symptoms) to "Medicine 3.0" (optimizing systems).

The Business of Cancer Trials
The number of cancer drug trials surged from 400 in 2000 to 2,400 today, with pharma spending about $80 billion annually.
XCancer, an Omaha clinic led by Dr. Luke Nordquist, enrolls patients rapidly—starting trials in two weeks versus months at major centers—and treats 450 prostate cancer patients monthly. Pharma pays up to $250,000 per patient; XCancer received $22 million from 2018-2024, with 30% patient enrollment, well above the 7.1% national rate.
Critics highlight ethical concerns, including trial design flaws and lack of transparency around financial ties. Federal funding has declined, doubling industry-sponsored enrollments meanwhile.
Large centers earn nearly $1 billion yearly in industry payments but open trials slowly, making clinics like XCancer vital yet contentious.

Unlocking Appetite Control
Research shows MRAP2 protein enhances MC3R receptor signaling, which regulates energy storage and use, as well as MC4R, which controls hunger.
Optimal signaling occurs when MRAP2 and MC3R are present in a 1:1 ratio. Genetic mutations in MRAP2, found in some obese individuals, impair its ability to support MC3R signaling, disrupting appetite and energy balance.
These findings identify MRAP2 as a genetic risk factor for obesity and highlight it as a potential drug target.
Future therapies could boost MRAP2’s support of MC3R and MC4R to reduce overeating, increase satiety, and improve energy balance, offering new treatment avenues beyond diet-based approaches.

Cosmic Voids
NASA completed assembly of the Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope, launching in 2026–2027 on a SpaceX Falcon Heavy to orbit the Sun-Earth L2 point.
The infrared telescope features a Wide-Field Instrument (WFI) capturing images 100 times larger than Hubble’s and a Coronagraph Instrument (CGI) for direct exoplanet imaging. Over five years, it will survey 20,000 terabytes of data, detecting 100,000+ exoplanets, millions of stars, and billions of galaxies.
Roman will map cosmic voids, using baryon acoustic oscillations, weak lensing, and Type 1a supernovae to study dark energy’s role in cosmic expansion.
It will work alongside ESA’s Euclid and the Vera Rubin Observatory to advance cosmology and planetary science.
