The average family is now expected to save around $3,752 because of it. And if you’re over 65, a new supplemental deduction could put up to an extra $6,000 in your pocket.

But the government’s spending is creating new risks. For the first time ever, interest on the national debt has topped $1 trillion for the year. That’s more than the entire defense budget.

This is happening even with a 153% surge in tariff revenue from imports.

Our new report breaks down the numbers you won't see on the news—including an accounting change that made the $1.8T deficit look smaller than it really is.

These shifts will affect your investments and retirement plans. Read the full analysis now and learn what steps to consider now.

New York AG Indicted

New York Attorney General Letitia James was indicted for bank fraud and making false statements related to a 2020 mortgage. She allegedly misrepresented a Norfolk, Virginia property as a secondary residence to obtain favorable mortgage terms, generating $19,000 from rental income.

Charges carry up to 30 years in prison and $1 million fines per count. The indictment followed the replacement of a U.S. Attorney opposed to charges with Trump's former lawyer.

James denies wrongdoing, citing political retaliation. Democratic leaders accuse the Trump administration of abusing power. Similar mortgage probes target other Trump critics, but no charges have been filed in those cases.

Should it be considered a serious crime to claim a property as a primary residence when it is actually used as a rental investment?

Jeff Bezos Says This New Breakthrough is Like “Science Fiction”

He called it a “renaissance.” No wonder ~40,000 people backed Amazon partner Miso Robotics. Miso’s kitchen robots fried 4M food baskets for brands like White Castle. In a $1T industry with 144% employee turnover, that’s big. So are Miso’s partnerships with NVIDIA and Uber. Initial units of its newest robot sold out in one week. Invest before Miso’s bonus shares change on 10/9.

Hostage Deal and Ceasefire Approved

Israel approved the ceasefire deal ending the two-year Gaza war. Hamas will release about 20 live Israeli hostages and bodies of 28 presumed dead, while Israel will free over 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.

Fighting will halt within 24 hours, and hostages freed within 72 hours. Israel will start phased troop withdrawals amid ongoing border negotiations.

US diplomacy, led by Trump, Jared Kushner, and Steve Witkoff, brokered the deal with support from regional Arab states. The US will send 200 troops to stabilize Gaza. Some Israeli officials oppose prisoner releases and remain skeptical of Hamas.

Do you believe the hostage release and prisoner exchange deal will lead to lasting peace between Israel and Hamas?

Argentina’s Lifeline

The US Treasury finalized a $20 billion currency swap with Argentina to stabilize its economy amid a liquidity crisis. The peso rose 0.8%, Argentina's 2035 bonds gained 4.6 cents, and local stocks jumped 5.3%.

The aid precedes Argentina’s October 26 midterm elections, supporting President Javier Milei’s austerity reforms to cut inflation and achieve a fiscal surplus. The swap allows Argentina’s central bank to exchange pesos for dollars.

The US move followed talks with Argentina’s Economy Minister and IMF officials; the IMF approved a $20 billion loan in April. Despite US domestic criticism, officials warn Argentina risks becoming a “failed state” after multiple defaults since 2001.

Sources: BBC, Reuters, France24, AP News.

Should the US prioritize financial support to struggling foreign economies like Argentina, even during domestic budget constraints?

First Brands Collapse

Ohio-based First Brands Group filed for bankruptcy with $11.6 billion in liabilities, including $6 billion on-balance-sheet debt and billions off-balance-sheet.

New directors uncovered a $2.3 billion unpaid balance and are investigating possible double-pledging of trade receivables—using the same invoices to secure multiple loans. The U.S. Department of Justice is probing the company’s creditor relations and off-balance-sheet financing.

Creditors affected include Jefferies’ Point Bonita Capital ($715 million exposure) and UBS’s O’Connor hedge fund ($500 million). Raistone has requested a court-appointed examiner to trace missing funds.

Analysts expect limited bank contagion but see rising risks in opaque private credit markets, raising concerns about corporate credit stability.

Is the investigation into First Brands Group likely to reveal systemic risks affecting the wider private credit market?

How Everyday Foods Lower Blood Pressure

Flavan-3-ols in cocoa, tea, grapes, apples, and berries reduce blood pressure by 2.8 mmHg systolic and 2.0 mmHg diastolic on average, with greater effects (6–7 mmHg systolic, 4 mmHg diastolic) in hypertensive individuals.

Daily intake includes 2-3 cups of tea, 56g dark chocolate, or 2-3 apples. Supplements provide smaller benefits than whole foods. Cocoa extract supplements (500 mg daily) lower inflammation marker hs-CRP and were linked to a 27% reduction in cardiovascular deaths, but not heart attacks or strokes.

Turmeric, chia seeds, and beet juice also lower blood pressure modestly. Experts recommend these foods in a plant-rich diet alongside exercise and stress management for heart health.

How confident are you that dietary changes alone can significantly reduce your blood pressure?

Toenails Could Unlock Hidden Lung Cancer Risks

Radon causes 3-14% of lung cancers globally and is the second-leading cause after smoking. It accumulates in poorly ventilated indoor spaces and affects non-smokers often missed by screenings.

Researchers found radioactive lead (210Pb) from radon deposits in toenails, serving as a biomarker for lifelong exposure. A pilot study of 55 people showed a 397% higher 210Pb level in toenails of those exposed to elevated radon for 26.5 years compared to low exposure.

Radon signals persisted up to six years post-mitigation. A larger 10,000-person trial is planned to validate findings and potentially expand lung cancer screening to at-risk non-smokers and light smokers.

Would you consider testing your home for radon if a simple toenail test could indicate long-term exposure?
