Trump Accuses Democrats of Sedition

President Trump called six Democratic lawmakers "traitors," accusing them of "seditious behavior, punishable by death," for urging military members to refuse illegal orders.

The lawmakers—Senators Mark Kelly, Elissa Slotkin, and Representatives Chris DeLuzio, Maggie Goodlander, Chrissy Houlahan, and Jason Crow—released a video encouraging refusal of unlawful commands. Trump demanded their arrest and trial, reposting calls for their hanging.

White House Press Secretary denied Trump sought executions but labeled the Democrats' message unlawful. Democrats condemned Trump’s remarks as violent; Republican responses were muted. The U.S. military code allows the death penalty for sedition, but civilian law does not.

Do you think accusations of “sedition” should apply equally to civilian lawmakers as they do in military justice?

Tariff Turnaround

President Trump lifted 40% tariffs on Brazilian beef, coffee, cocoa, and fruit imports imposed in July 2025 as retaliation for Brazil's prosecution of former President Jair Bolsonaro.

The tariff removal applies to imports from November 13 and may require refunding paid tariffs. Brazil provides about one-third of U.S. coffee and is a key beef supplier, with tariffs contributing to a 40% rise in U.S. retail coffee prices amid weather-related production issues.

Brazil’s beef industry plans to expand market share. Brazilian President Lula da Silva welcomed the move. The tariff rollback aligns with broader U.S. efforts to reduce food costs. Meanwhile, COP30 climate talks in Brazil were disrupted by a fire-triggered evacuation.

How do you view the impact of lifting tariffs on Brazilian beef and coffee on U.S. consumers?

Most investors are busy reading earnings reports from last quarter.

But the guys running the companies are making moves right now.

This week, our algorithms caught two massive signals that paint a confusing picture for the market.

First, the CTO of a major semiconductor giant (you know the name) didn’t just sell a few shares to pay for a renovation. He dumped $4.1 million in stock.

Is he just cashing out? Or does he know the top is in?

Then we looked at the auto industry.

While everyone thinks the sector is dead, one top executive quietly increased his personal stake by 7.3% overnight.

He isn’t selling. He’s doubling down.

One is running for the exit. The other is digging in.

If you hold tech or auto stocks, you are flying blind without this data.

We tracked every name, every dollar, and every trade from this week in our latest report.

Stop guessing. See what the insiders are doing with their own money.

Jobs Surprise

The U.S. added 119,000 jobs in September, surpassing expectations, but unemployment rose to 4.4%, the highest since 2021. The labor force expanded by 470,000 to 171.2 million.

Job gains were led by healthcare (+57,000), restaurants (+37,000), and construction (+19,000), while transportation lost 25,000 jobs and manufacturing declined for the fifth month. Wage growth slowed to 0.2% monthly and 3.8% annually.

Revisions cut prior job gains drastically, lowering average monthly hires to 59,000 since March. October data will be delayed. AI, immigration limits, tariffs, and spending cuts challenge labor demand.

Layoffs rose, including 13,000 at Verizon. The Fed cut rates twice but is cautious on future cuts amid mixed signals.

The U.S. added 119,000 jobs in September, surpassing expectations, yet the unemployment rate also rose. What best explains this contradiction?

A U.S. destroyer blocked the Russian oil tanker Seahorse from delivering fuel to Venezuela multiple times, forcing it to idle near Cuba.

New U.S. sanctions, effective November 15, blacklisted Russian oil majors Rosneft and Lukoil, risking 48 million barrels of crude stranded at sea. These moves disrupt Russian oil exports amid the Ukraine conflict, with exports facing obstacles at sea and in global markets.

The Treasury noted early effects, including lower demand and increased discounts on Russian oil. The naval intervention near Venezuela signals U.S. intent to directly cut off Moscow’s energy support to allies, reshaping global oil trade routes.

Is it justified for the U.S. to intervene near Venezuela to stop Russian oil shipments?

Pain Switch

Researchers identified vertebrate lonesome kinase (VLK), an enzyme outside nerve cells that regulates pain signaling. Removing VLK in mice reduced post-surgical pain without impairing movement or sensation, while increasing VLK intensified pain responses.

VLK modifies proteins outside neurons, shifting pain control focus beyond cellular interiors. This opens avenues for safer treatments, avoiding side effects of current neuron-targeting drugs. VLK also influences learning and memory by strengthening neural connections.

The study involved nine institutions and was funded by the NIH. Scientists plan to explore whether VLK acts alone or within a broader system, aiming to improve therapies for pain and neurological disorders.

If a new pain drug targeting VLK reduces side effects but slightly affects learning and memory, would you consider taking it?

Drunken Chimps

Wild chimpanzees in Uganda and Ivory Coast consume about 14 grams of ethanol daily, roughly equivalent to two standard drinks by body weight, from naturally fermented fruits averaging 0.26% alcohol.

They eat about 10 pounds of fruit daily, making up 75% of their diet. Key high-alcohol fruits include Ficus musuco figs and Parinari excelsa plums. Chimpanzees show no intoxication despite steady ethanol intake. The study supports the "drunken monkey" hypothesis, linking human alcohol preference to ancestral diets.

Researchers used breathalyzer-like devices, gas chromatography, and chemical tests for measurement. Future work includes analyzing chimp urine for alcohol metabolites. This is the first direct quantification of natural alcohol intake in wild primates.

Should the discovery that wild chimpanzees naturally consume alcohol influence how we think about human alcohol use?
